Andy214, Agito666, mind if I give opinions and facts on Sony? The SLT is more on high speed AF in video, more on that later. Normal Sony live view since its 1st LV enabled DSLR (A300) is already using the quicker phase detect AF as opposed to canon and nikon's contrast detect AF in live view, thats why you will feel that LV in your camera is slower than when using OVF. Sony uses a separate secondary sensor to feed the live image to the LCD while maintaining the light path to the PDAF sensor - as opposed to using the main sensor in your unit.

As for dSLT, because there is no mirror in the path (only a transparent piece of glass that splits 30% of light to the PDAF sensor) the video now enjoys full time PDAF as well making it blistering quick. The downside now is that it is TOO quick, making any abrupt shift of focal plane looks very sudden. Good for quick action movements and fast paced tracking. But looks totally weird in slow moving scenes. The other 'concerned' downside is that the 30% loss of light will be equivalent to about 1/3 stop, which I think is still very reasonable.

I newbie in photography.

Currently I'm using Nikon D5100 with Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Lens and Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG MACRO Lens.

I would like to upgrade my lens. Can I know which to buy

1. Sigma 28-300mm F3.5-6.3 DG Macro Lens
2. Sigma 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM Lens
3. Nikon Nikkor 55-300mm AF-S DX  f/4.5-5.6G ED VR

Thanks In Advance

I would think so. you'd lose some fair bit of resolution, but gain in cleaner images at middle to high ISOs. also the D700 has a more robust body and more AF points than the D7000. if you're planning to upgrade, I wouldn't suggest you to because you'd lose out more than you're gaining. having said that, the D700 is a capable camera, and would continue to be one for years to come. a real headache this one  sweat.gif

I'd agree on the 'losing' part as you will be having a sudden dip in your account ledger. Coz you'd then need to invest in FF lenses instead.

But what you gain is nothing the D7000 can provide. The D700 is a great machine, that one.

Can you guys notice the "kind" of emitting highlight on the lady? How to create such highlight in PS?

It looks like a lousy PP job to me. But easily done with a curves layer and a soft edged brush to mask out the unwanted parts.

5 mins job on the masking maybe, or this was the intended output of the person behind the camera.

Haha, hence like I said, bad PP job. Even more so if it was intended to be like that. Well unless it's meant to be made as a bad example. Then it's job well done.

I don't feel that this is over exposed. The subject is nicely exposed IMHO.

You can go under a heavy rain/snow and your gears won't get wet. Of course no guarantees should you fall into a river/sea.

Well, since im using DX, 70-200 seems to long, 17-55 just nice.

Also, D5100 so small the body, with 70-200 attached, its hard to handle.

That's because one is a tele another is a wide. It's just at that moment you need a wide more than a tele, so you feel that the wide is very good to use. Imagine you need to shoot a bird, which will be your 'best' lens that time?

Let's give it 1USD:RM3, that'd be RM2700 for a V1 + 27-81mm kitlens... expensive? VERY!
