i tested sensation, also got some heat behind it..even last time nexus one, after playing game, it also quite hot behind.. think this is the problem for a slim phone and 'good' processor  tongue.gif

Heat is bad for the battery yes, he MIGHT have a point there, but at least we can change ours. Last time my i4 also got very hot at times, if battery die then how, especially after warranty? Kopak and change new one yourself?

Otherwise it's finelah. If you still worry get the polarbear heatsink case floating around on the net.

With that said, the korean spec batts really do feel like they last longer lol.

Where got I ordered battery + cover? I already got my spare battery from Exportprive, no cover. If battery case yeah.

Still waiting for my MHL cable to hit. Funny though the fact that I HAVE NO HDMI CAPABLE TV AT HOME (or any HDTV for that matter)... laugh.gif

there is no point to buy such a thin handphone only to add to the carrying bulk by using external battery packs.
will try the leaked 2.3.4 but need to look for mac version of odin and samsung kies.

People do it to the iPhone. Why not the SGS2?

Sigh, if people wanted long battery life, they would have gone and gotten something archaic like a Blackberry. If people wanted a balance of everything and CAN live within a walled garden (and the fact that it's practically made out of glass), they would have gone and gotten the iPhone 4.

The list goes on. EVERY phone has it's issues. It's all about compromises.

I got the SGS2 simply because it has OTG and I was dying to try a dual-core robot, to see if it's as MARVELLOUS as everyone said it was (which it is not, really. It's good, but right now you don't really FEEL the sheer power of a dual core).

BUT, with all that being said, Samsung SHOULD have made the entire back level, they could have AT LEAST fit a 1800-1900mAh battery in there if the battery compartment was level with the hump on the bottom back - which would have meant 2-3 hours more of screen on time.

uncle benny, i have flashed to Litening ROM 1.5 and shortly after that i downloaded the tegrak overclock ultimate. Now i am trying to set the core voltage down to 750mV at all levels, but after i set at CPU level 4 (i started with this one first), my phone keeps vibrating and buzzing. it says.. watching stability.. am i doing it correctly?

Please i need help..
*
DOWN TO 750MV AT ALL LEVELS!!!!???

YOU WILL STARVE YOUR PROCESSOR TO DEATH! STOP!

I think the processor watchdog did it for you already, by freezing the phone up before you starved the silicone to death.

I set my procs at -75mV at all levels. I try -100mV at 200mhz it freezes and dies edi.

UNLESS YOU HAVE A SUPER PROCESSOR, 750MV AT ALL STATES WILL BE SUICIDE.

IINM anyway. I killed my N900 after all, so I MIGHT NOT BE the best authority at how to do it right, but at least I know from experience HOW TO DO IT WRONG.

Where got pro. I STARVED my N900 to death and I'm just not eager to do it again with my new 2k phone.

I'm more traumatized then anything.

But seriously man, if he has the silicone that can run 1200GHz at 750mv, I want some of those.

That kind of tech = +5-6 hours of screen on time / +10-12 hours deep sleep time AT LEAST.

Thank you sifu. Is there any link that teaches newbies like me how to use this super app tegrak overclock ultimate? i cant find how to set procs at -75mV at all levels. Mind teaching me? hehehe.

Removed the battery just now after 5 minutes of non stop vibrating. luckily the phone is still okay.
*
Well I'm no sifu, but assuming you're using Pro Tegrak (AND have loaded the overclock module), it's this simple.

Press Optimization (let it read the values for a while) --> Press on core voltage FOR EVERY LEVEL and THEN press "-50" followed by "-25" --> Let the "Watching stability" thing run in your notti bar (it's keeping your phone from dying) while using it as usual.

If it DOESN'T lock up, you're good to go. Make sure LOAD ON BOOT is checked in the Optimization screen.

AND EVERY PIECE OF SILICONE IS UNIQUE, some can go faster, some can run on less juice. Settings that work for some people might not work for others. For instance, my 200mhz end of the spectrum cannot take anything lower than 850-875mv.

SO ADJUST, TEST AND RE-ADJUST CAREFULLY.

You can underclock your GPU too, if you want to.

For OVERCLOCKING, I'm just not a firm believer in making something fast run even faster at the risk of suicide. I mean I run my SGS2 underclocked at 1000ghz max ALL THE TIME, and I have never once felt that it was slow.

Obviously, because we are in Malaysia, like how iTunes and iBooks suck because we're here.

BUT, it's clean, it's much less WHITE and WE HAVE PRICES LISTED IN RM WOOOHOO!

If only it was a little bit snappier.

That's y i left the FB Android Development Groups , mostly Msian and LYN members ...... They feel having cracked/free apps is ok . The comment i got from them is " why pay when there are free ones "
*
They should start a software company and feel the burn.

Really, big corporations are another story lar, if you feel the need to STICK IT TO THE MAN, but indie devs? How do you think they get money to feed their children?

Did you enter a "+6" before your number (+6012345678).

@aailysm: Did you wipe data? If you didn't, go into recovery and wipe dalvik/cache. Reboot.

If that doesn't work, enter recovery AGAIN and wipe dalvik/cache/userdata. And yes YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING if you do this.

VR2.0 is not THAT bad. After adjusting and freezing/uninstalling stuff, I get something like 1% drop every 1-2 hours on idle.

That's okay by me.

Though 1% for every 4 hours is damn good really.

did you do CRT animation, advace power menu and custom status bar your self?
i tried it before and fails.. sweat.gif
*
Nah, somebody posted a custom statusbar mod over at the XDA VR thread, in CWM-able zip form. I modded that and flashed it in through recovery.

I don't really like CRT though. APM I might do later.

@Aston: Yeah, mapupdateservice (a part of Maps) runs in the background to "sorta" provide location info to any app needing it. Problem is, the thing itself EATS battery alive. What I do is I force close it EVERY TIME after I run Maps. That works for now.
