Hi Benny,
What would I be missing if I just use the S2 as it is? As an "oldie" on the wrong side of 50 I prefer not to get muddled in the complexity of ROM/baseband/kernel. But everybody here seems to be flashing left and right so I just wonder if the original Samsung ROM s good enough to use. What's the main advantage of changing the original ROM?

ive downloaded the stock firmware XWKF1 from samfirmware.com but it doesnt contain any .PIT file. will it affect anything if i dont have it while reflash to stock ROM? and if i flash it with all 3 files together 1 time which is as listed below, CODE CODE_I9100XWKF1_CL265340_REV02_user_low_ship.tar GT-I9100-MULTI-CSC-OLBKE5.tar MODEM_I9100DXKF1_REV_02_CL1017685.tar
i have to check the re-partition box right? will this process affects my data and apps? I have done back up but just to clarify things up before doing anything.

What's the main advantage of changing the original ROM? its the most powerful smartphone so why would it have anything wrong with the original rom? unless you're using lower droid phones, you dont have to worry with SGS2. but using the stock 2.3.4 instead of Touchwiz would be the fastest. and the custom rom will have mods/tweaks as time goes. so you'll have more features than the original. but having a SGS2, you are not missing anything. those that dont have are missing the SGS2!
