For those who have the impression that Golf is a small car, I have parked it side by side with the new altis and vios. Even though the golf is a hatchback, its about the same length as the vios and only slightly shorter than the altis!

Is the Passat already open for bookings? Any idea on the estimated price? On your snapshots, I cant really see clearly the capacity and bhp. Is it 160hp as well? I'm helping my friend in Kuantan to book one. Thanx

Passat CKD only 158bhp for 1.8 turbo engine a bit underpowered i think but the specs looks impressive with front and back LEDS and RCD510. Well, we shall see during this Friday's launch.

The head on fight of 508 vs Passat is going to be interesting with both launching at the same time. I havent seen both cars in flesh yet but on pictures, the 508 interior and exterior seems to look bigger and nicer. Specs wise about the same though 508 has GPS and bluetooth while Passat offers DSG and slightly better acceleration. Will check them out this weekend. Hope both got test drive units..

Please dont compare Passat with the GTI. Both cars are designed for different markets! If you want to compare, the 508 is its nearest competition. Yes, my friend has decided on the 508 due to its space, better specs and a nicer looking car. He said the Passat is just too plain looking! Of course, the Passat is faster and comes with DSG7speed and 5 year warranty. Different offering for different requirements. But one thing for sure, these 2 brands are going to affect the market share of the japanese brands in Malaysia!

Finally brought my friend to see both Passat and 508. Since space and looks are his top priorities, he decided on the 508. I do admit that the Passat is very plain and boring looking. A whole lot of difference from the Passat CC!

Also got the Golf R brochure. The specs are fantastic with RNS, front back LED, Rear camera, 19" rims, AWD, keyless, Dynaudio sound system just to name a few. Price 280k. Sprint is 5.5 seconds, much faster than the Renault RS250! Damn tempted to upgrade sigh...

Brochure is out is but car not out haha. Yes, you can get it from any VW dealers. I was told estimated arrival is January.
