i dunno if this apply to other shirt sponsorship agreement...

but, if i am not mistaken, the sponsorship contract between Nike and FAM is for a fixed price, inconsiderate of how many shirts are sold... when Nike bought the rights with an agreed price, they have the liberty to produce and sell how many jerseys the market allows them...

the more fans bought them jerseys does not mean the club gets more from your dollar and cents spent. That has already been fixed. What you did just you give Nike more profit...

Of course, if you buy from the club's official store, the story is different..
*
this.not just between nike and FAM.i think most of the shirt sponsorship are like that.hence, the reason why Man Utd receive highest amount of shirt sponsorship iinm.

i don't mind buying non ori jerseys for international clubs.it just showing your color.which team you are supporting.but since rite now i already has monthly income i'll try my best to buy ori jerseys.proud to say that i already have arsenal and selangor ori jerseys.still saving money for Malaysia yellow shirt.hope can wear it against singapore end of the month.

what i do mind is people buying local team fake jerseys.come on la.local jersey tak sampai rm100 pun.takkan tak boleh beli jugak.

Just wanna make TS question clear...are we discussing about buying ori jersey v not buying ori jersey, or buying ori jersey v buying fake jersey?

If it's the second one I think there's already a thread about that somewhere.

ahhhhhh shud had made it clear

its buy fake jersey or didnt buy any jersey vs buy original jersey

didnt buy ori jersey doesnt mean buy fake. if someone doesnt buy jersey, like i explained earlier, he can do other forms of supporting without resorting to fakes. Buy scarfs or caps or t-shirts. Join groups or MVs with other fellow supporters on match days. Even as simple as playing the club's song when in the car even though mak bapak/pakcik makcik all hate it, also a form of support. Thats what i meant by "no jersey doesnt mean not supporting".

But if its comparing buying ori jersey and buying fake jersey, then no need to second guess what my answer is.

So in short, my point is if you buy ori jersey as a way to show support, then good. If cant afford or not interested in jerseys, there are other ways, jersey isnt the only way. This is again, back to my fist post. The idea of "must wear jersey to show support" ends up putting pressure on those who cant afford it, ending up buying fakes so as not to be labelled as "not supporting".

this is the saddest part. For example Perak FA ori Specs jersey cost around rm40+... But still got lads buying
the so-called "A" grade jersey outside stadium, dat not even B grade by the looks of it for around rm20-30 something doh.gif sweat.gif

Sure bukan ori punya. Aku pun nak beli jersey Kelantan susah gile. Arsenal ori aku tiap2 season beli, tapi lambat satu season pasal kawan aku kat UK tolong belikan masa Nike buat penghabisan stok (dalam RM120 dah boleh dapat). Kekadang gile pelik rasa jersey team local aku tak dapat nak carik. Kelate.net selalu ada akan buat bulk awal musim, tapi camne tah, 3 season aku selalu miss. Tgk2 dah tutup thread orz

Bagi aku alasan "takde duit" tu macam tu la, satu alasan saja. Kalau betul2 nak beli ori, boleh je simpan duit sikit2. Ala bukan kena beli satu season satu baju pun. Bukan nak sokong ori, tapi kekadang rasa cam duit tak halal lak beli yang pirated punya. Ye la, dari satu segi, pasal dia buat baju tanpa bayar royalti kepada team, cam dia curi la, pastu kita beli.

Tak ori ke bro beli from seladang.net? Tiap2 season dia buat bulk order tapi baru season ni aku ambil peluang join sekali. Harga dia RM45 sehelai + RM5 shipping, boleh COD kat Stadium Perak kalau nak. Tengok ramai orang join bulk order tambah dengan reputasi website, tu yang aku join sekali. Yakin barang original. Boleh tahan lembut, dengan sejuk kain dia. Tak rasa kasar dengan panas macam jersi ciplak yang aku beli dulu. Tapi kalau yang jual kat luar stadium tu aku tak pasti la pulak.

For me it's either you buy original jersey or u just don't buy at all..it's okay that you don't buy your team jersey at all since we are in third world country and rm250 is a lot of money relative to our cost of living and average income..however, supporting fake means you are supporting people who take away a portion of your club income and supporting its existance..which indirectly means you just don't care if your club losing money..

for the local club jersey scenario:
put it this way,

we humans when certain products is not in your best of interest,
you wont even be willing to fork out a single cent for it even if its dirt cheap
some would eventually reluctantly fork out
its normal human behavior, you me, everyone has it..
well maybe for our case not jerseys, but to other products

so in other words original jersey RM40? AA RM20-30? to them not a damn is given

i would add a disagree on that, ppl who buys fake not necessarily will buy original. lets say like ppl who have income below rm800, they wont buy original, even if they are not allowed to buy pirated goods, so it doesnt take away a portion of the clubs income....

the motivation of asking this question is because im going to watch chelsea vs malaysia game and i have neither's jersey, be it original or fake...

It does take away a portion of club income..the existance of seller of fake jersey means that even people who can afford to buy original one will resort to buying fake one because it's cheap and they only wear it ocassionally

Take one example..let's say in Malaysia there is 100,000 supporters of a club that can afford to buy ori jersey and all wanted to buy one..but among them there is 50,000 who opt to buy fake since to them it's a waste of money(they can afford but refuse..not talking about those who can't afford)..let's say in each jersey sale rm20 goes to the club..50,000xrm20=rm100,000 money that suppose to be earn by the club lost due to people opt to buy fake..

Let's say the same figure applies to all countries in the world, as a result the club lost rm100,000x195=19,500,000..rm19.5mil!

Try Q-Line Sports at Pertama Kompleks (opp. Sogo), they have most if not all the latest state team kits for sale.

Try not going there tomorrow though unless you have another purpose which has something to do with not being 'dirty' icon_rolleyes.gif

Terengganu takde ke website yang direka oleh fan club? selalunya mesti ada jual jersey tempah online. Macam Selangor dengan Perak.

For the question, i voted no because i know some people genuinely support / have interest for the particular team, but they can't afford the price.

Erm my thought is that, if you can afford to buy....then seriously should get at least one la ..show your support towards the club ma tongue.gif

But wearing a fake jersey doesn't mean you don't support the club lo...

just personal preferences...up to you...as you like...no forcing afterall smile.gif

I have yet to find Harimau Malaya's jerseys on sale.. so I bought the replica one instead. Will definitely buy an original one when the sale comes, though.

I have original Chelsea jerseys as well, they were on sale at the Chelsea Superstore in Stamford Bridge when I went there in 2009. laugh.gif

yup agree...
Well if U really love ur team, do really support them.
When U bought ori jersey, U r directly contributing money to them..
plus with the money they earn, they can buy good player or pay better higher salary..
all that is motivation for the club..
so its either you buy ori or dont buy at all..
not buying doesnt mean U dont support.. it just U cant support in a money form..
