I wait for 4 years before I get my 1st Liverpool ori jersey. I dont think not getting any ori jersey will make us lesser as a fan. But I will encourage anyone to at least get 1 if they can afford it.

i totally vote for YES...
it is not im so damn rich..but usually i buy the jersey at lower price/off season..buying online (oversea) also another way 2 save cost.
better to contribute to the club we support..if we buy ori jersey, at least we have some contribution to the club...if u buy pirates, u will make the FAKERS rich...u dont have to buy many (if u say the ori jersey cost too much)..at least buy one...
Eg: Since i'm MU fans, i can say some of money MU pay to buy ashley young come from my money (buy jersey)...if u buy fake???
if u cannot afford to buy brand new, can go to used but Ori jersey...ebay/mudah etc...
KOREK me if im wrong

The cost of original jerseys are really high. Even so I think that if your club is your priority, you'll find a way. You'd save for months to get one if you had to. When you buy originals you contribute to the club's revenue. Yes, it may only be a small contribution but if everyone made the tiniest of contributions, it accumulates to a lot. The club gets nothing when you buy a fake. Put it this way, I hear people say the don't have money and yet have handphones and drink coffee at Starbucks. Often, people do have the money, it's just that a jersey may not be a priority. Anyway, you can always buy last season's ori jersey for cheap. I'd rather buy and old ori and a new fake. In my opinion, I think that every fan should have at least one ori jersey. It means more if you had to break the bank for it. Means much more than a spoiled rich kid using his father's money to buy 10 jerseys. i totally dont understand why the voting at the top didnt lean to my opinion--more to buy fake.
let picture the other way, we all malaysian supporter football team. we always want malaysia win. but is it fair if we buy pirate malaysia jerseys? how FAM to generate income?
like i mention before u dont have to buy the new rm 269 jersey at nike/adidas. u have 2 be SMART and EFFECTIVE. i think u all know we alwayz do BULK jersey from oversea, which is the price is more cheap...right? if buy off season jersey will be more cheaper..
EG: new season (2011/12) any epl team can get just over rm200 (or even below) than buy at Butik adidas/nike....

i dunno if this apply to other shirt sponsorship agreement...
but, if i am not mistaken, the sponsorship contract between Nike and FAM is for a fixed price, inconsiderate of how many shirts are sold... when Nike bought the rights with an agreed price, they have the liberty to produce and sell how many jerseys the market allows them...
the more fans bought them jerseys does not mean the club gets more from your dollar and cents spent. That has already been fixed. What you did just you give Nike more profit...
Of course, if you buy from the club's official store, the story is different..

I voted no, because i'm thinking about those who stay on rural or poor area. I know some of them truly support Perak FA and some EPL-based club, but can only afford fake, low quality jersey found at their nearby pasar malam. As for them, they can't afford to throw quite big sum of money (even RM50) just for a piece of apparel. So i think it depend on the situation, being poor and can't afford original jersey doesn't mean they're not fan.

Just wanna make TS question clear...are we discussing about buying ori jersey v not buying ori jersey, or buying ori jersey v buying fake jersey?
If it's the second one I think there's already a thread about that somewhere.

a simple no. same applies to everyday life.
Does not going to church make a person less of a Christian? If a person does not tell his partner he loves her everyday, does that mean he doesnt love her?
If a person does not own a jersey of the club he supports, does that make him less of a fan?
no.

QUOTE(FLampard @ Jul 8 2011, 10:39 AM) you are hinting i am cheapskate? why u always take a dig at me every chance u have? you misunderstood me lad. what i meant is that if people have other priorities or any means, why should they spend on original jersey. anyway, i hope any supporters of any club will earn enough money to buy the original jersey. if can't , it is fine. This is funny because it just same situation a season ticket holder calling off other supporters not a 'true' supporter
