PM Lee shared that MOM will further tighten measures on the middle range of foreign workers, including raising the salary thresholds for Employment Passes and tightening the educational qualifications. The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) will work together with tripartite partners to develop guidelines for fair and responsible recruitment and employment practices. More details will be announced by MOM soon.

I think only EP is mentioned, right?

Looks like it's getting tougher and tougher now. doh.gif

Alamak, blame the HR pula. Why not you pack up and go work as intern in Malaysia instead and why die die want to work in Singapore? Got gold to pick up meh???  tongue.gif
*
I am not trying to blame anyone, not HR nor MOM.
I just try to express my opinion and my bad experience with HR ppl.

Pls, if it happens on you, where the HR drag for whole week,
what will you feel then?

And I have my own reason and ambitious of why I want to work in Singapore.
It is not up to you to judge nor I need to tell you my reason.

And pls, dun come out with the reply that
"you have to compete with many other ppl better than you from all over the whole.."
"what make you think the company should hire you..." or even
"what do you have that make you more outstanding form others..." or even
"you are just an intern..."
or whichever reply like that.

Because I know and I am aware of this competition in Singapore.

Again, What I want to express is just my bad experience with HR to share with you guyz.
*no offense*

your HR dept has done the application for you and unfortunately your application failed.

this is very simple and why cant you understand?

all the HR not doing work or not helping you to appeal were merely your guesses. i dont think it is good to point your finger at anyone before you confirm.

why are you so desperate to coming to spore to intern? like i said earlier, it will not be easy. you can always come to work in spore later with your complete education.

you say you are not blaming anyone but you sound as you are. if you carry on the attitude like this, i dont think you will go far in your career.

all the best and stop whining

hey man,
U didnt follow my whole story I guess.
Previously a company helped me applied, failed.
Appealed and failed. << yes, she did helped me to appeal. I am sorry for the wrong guess previously

Then as suggested by forummers, I leave it and move on to other company.
Currently what I am saying is already the second company that help me to process for the working pass.
I think you missed out the scenario.
This time I am not guessing, but is confirmed that he havent helped me to apply yet.
Cz the HR just contacted me. << not guessing this time

Well, I am thinking, why want to go through all the messes to apply for TEP?
Isnt WP is easier to apply since it does not requires a degree cert? Well suited for my current situation.
But the company must willing to pay the levy in the first place, right?

QUOTE(jungyu @ Aug 16 2011, 05:55 PM)
could mean further lower salary for malaysian. Lets see if singapore employers willing to pay for the levy or waiting infinitely for singaporean. My company is still taking young malaysian graduates despite tight rule from MOM
*
But some companies will adjust the person's salary to cover the levy.
I remember there was 1 forumer mentioned about that.

Yep, I agree.  Anyway, some of the time we are working more than that hours.  So yes, it can really save time and travel cost.

his point is that if you are hesitating whether or not you should apply PR,
then you better leave it and dont waste the quota.
