QUOTE(deodorant @ Aug 4 2011, 09:35 AM) Honestly I think it's just everyone overreacting. You know lah Malaysians super sensitive, everything also link back to race. My opinion is that the message of the ads was sincere, it's just the execution that they screwed up on. yes. I am applying for internship placement.I don't really remember what job offer you got, it's just an internship kind of thing right (that's why the TEP instead of EP)? At the risk of sounding like an as$hole, HR and the Hiring Manager might not really have much interest in vigorously pursuing your case with MOM ... since after all you're 'just an intern.' What on earth are you babbling about. It's well known that SG has some of the lowest income taxes anywhere. If you hadn't decided to leave after only 3 months then you would have been taxed at resident rates also what. And the house deposit ... you signed a one year lease, didn't you? So you expect in this world that you can happily break contracts as and when you please without penalty? try call up this guy Willy 9824 4469, he's the agent who handled my rental. we did all the formalities with IPA only, after got EP card then gave a copy to him/landlord to give HDB. But after my 4 months internship placement, I am graduating and can directly continue to work as permanent position after that. The company is aware of that and the hiring manager has mentioned that will monitor my performance during the 4 months and will consider to continuing hire me as permanent after i complete my intern. So, I think i am not basically "just an intern". I am intern who able to continue as permanent after 4 months. So from company point of view, they not rugi isnt it? instead, they untung cz considering that they can pay me cheap salary for 4 months intern, then only take me as permanent. or they can kick me out directly after 4 months if i cant perform. So what's the down side that the company consider? I dont understand why the HR seems like so irresponsible in my case. Probably should follw forummers advice, write an email or call up the hiring manager to draw his attention on my case. This post has been edited by venicelim: Aug 4 2011, 09:46 AM |

QUOTE(Tigerr @ Aug 4 2011, 10:16 AM) Please do not assume that the HR personnel had cheated you as based on your non factual findings. If you insist on calling the hiring manager, just explain to him that your application had got rejected, please consult him whether he can help or not but dont mentioned the HR cheat on you because what if it is not and before you work as a permanent staffs, you already starting to accuse and finger pointing for things that you not 100% sure. ok.after calm down, what i did is email the HR personnel in charge of my case, ask her to help me to check with MOM of reason being rejected and update me as soon. In a very nice way and nice manner. Did not complain nor calling the hiring manager nor the HR manager. Aiz..... hopefully she will treat me in a nice way too and faster get back to me for 2nd appeal. |

QUOTE(tiny @ Aug 4 2011, 03:52 PM) Usually MOM will not give reason for rejection. This practice of not giving reason for rejection is to prevent employers and prospective employees from artificially adjusting the application details in their favor and resubmit it again. yea.MOM will not reject you because of lack of documentation like SPM cert etc.. because to them, the lack of documentation is very trivial and if needed, MOM will ask you to show them the originals after they've given you an "in-principle approval". Reason for rejection can either be: 1) Your salary or age does not meet the requirement for a TEP. 2) You graduated from an unrecognized university or your qualification is not good enough. 3) Company has reached its maximum quota for hiring foreigners. 4) The reason/excuse, the company has stated to MOM, for hiring you is not good enough. Unless the employer has forgotten to mention that you're a first class honours student from Oxford during the initial application, an appeal will usually always end up rejected. Most employers, especially mine, knows that appealing will ALWAYS end up reject so they usually make no effort to do it. Time to move on, apply elsewhere. looks like many of you guys here suggested me to move on and apply other company instead of asking the current one to help me for 2nd appeal. Btw, If i wana move on to apply other company, i need to ask the current company to cancel off any other further processing of my application from MOM right? Then only i can ask other company to help me to apply for working pass right? cz i heard at one time only 1 application can be processed. And also, will the new company found my old rejected record with MOM? |

QUOTE(alaskanbunny @ Aug 4 2011, 09:31 PM) friend, actually what you can do is while waiting... why not apply for more jobs? no harm if you have time right? probably get a better offer? actually I got another offer ard. no, dont need to cancel i believe... just go ahead... there will be interviews and all... probably by the time u get a new one the appeal has already faded off.... dont worry so much ler... just go apply new one So thinking as you all advice, forget about the current one and move on to other company. anyway, tmw i will call up the hiring manager to see if he is keen to hire me and if he can offer any help or not. Else, i might opt to new offer ard. Cz as you all said, there is no point to stay if even the hiring manager no keen to hire you. If in the case i move to new offer, do I need to ask the current HR to cancel off all the relating application? Or since the appeal is ard rejected, there is no other thing to follow up right? |

guys, i decided to let go of the previous company and move on to apply for other company.
There is now another company wana hire me. But then, will they have problem proceeding with MOM? Since the previous appeal ard failed, which means already no active application right? then now the new company can help me to apply directly right? If more than one candidate stands nominated for election at the close of nominations on Nomination Day, the Returning Officer will declare 27 August 2011 (Saturday) to be the Polling Day.
