ask u orally or written form?
*
During the medical checkup will ask u orally...then from your given answer they will tick a Yes or No in the smoker checkbox....also at the end of that medical checklist..you will have to SIGN for it....so u can't blame anyone for either putting false values/heard wrongly from your end.

police need to be singaporean / PR  blink.gif
*
Yes of course.....and that's y the Singapore government will offer citizenship, to those Singapore PR males upon completing their 2years of NS.
After that if you're still a PR...your in-camp/re-service will be pretty 'useless' to a certain extend. I mean you won't get a good carrier path in life if one pursue/continue being a military officer for the Singapore government as a PR status, And also they will not allow to be in n around those highly sensitive areas...eg.....defense science n something similar, or like those central intelligence

but dont forget.....u will be spending SGD.......its not like u gonna earn SGD and spend MYR....so it doesnt make sense to put the salary as in MYR4k....if its like this...that means my actual pay in SGD will not be fixed...because of the exchange rates

rent whole unit will save u a lot of troubles.... esp i had very bad exp with landlord and housemates... haha....
*
well its easier said that done....considering that it will easily cost SGD1.5k rental per month or even higher close to SGD2k ......not many of us earn that high income to be able to afford to rent a whole HDB unit

Think about it...a person who's income is SGD3k per month....is he/she gonna fork out 50% of his/her monthly income on it?

i got it from some hearsay.. icon_rolleyes.gif

for foreigner?.."Foreigner who stayed/worked in Singapore for 183 days or more in previous year " this means tat anyone working for more than a year will be entitled to the tax rate of "Tax resident"?..am i interperting the thing corerctly?..
*
yes.......the other criteria would be your income in that particular year doesnt hit around SG20k-21k, then you're not required to pay tax....to be precise its not working for more than a year.....its stayed/worked in Singapore for 183 days in a 365 days of a calendar year....else its a flat 15% tax rate

For somebody who worked less than 183 days and income for that particular year doesn't hit SGD 20k, did he still required to submit/filling his tax to IRA?

Or it is automatically exempted?
*
I would still do a filling....same as my income tax in Malaysia.....i would file it as 0 income.....better to be safe than sorry

Ease of getting a job.  wink.gif  Is there any difference if I hold a work pass or a PR? I heard that if a person renounce his/hers PR he/she will no longer be able to work in Sg?
*
when u get a PR.....its easier to you to move between jobs...u dont need to go to MOM and apply & wait & worst gets rejected...the hiring company can straight away offer you as a PR the offer letter.

This next question I'm not too sure. But I know that if renounce his/her PR so that in order to get the full amount in the CPF...then yes you will no longer be able to work in SG......not even on a work permit...basically can come in as a tourist only.

File the income as 0? Not the actual income during the period i.e 19k? Meaning it does not automatically exempted in the system am I correct?
Finger crossed that mine would not exceed 20k this time. 15% is quite hefty amount  sweat.gif

Btw is OT insclusive as taxed income?
Never got OT in my past employment thus not sure bout this.
*
I mean for the Malaysia side of the income tax lor.....I file as 0 income..because i'm working in singapore mah
OT yes...because it goes into your salary.....same as allowances...unless its reimbursement for company expenses then its not....if your hit around 20-22k maybe u dont even need to file one.

Just confirming, Malaysians can stay in Singapore for 30 days? If I exhaust the allowed stay period there, would it be more practical to apply for a longer visit pass or to exit and re-enter the country?
*
Think u can extend your stay for another 30 days....after that u have to exit..there's like a max stay of 60 days in at 90 days period...then not sure if there's a cooling off period.

Ok I thought u r referring to Spore side just now.
I believed there must be clear guide on this whether submission is compulsory regardless of the amount or not. And certainly as well for exact amount exempted (20k? 22k?). But I might be wrong tho. Need to dig further on this for details.
*
I do my submission for BOTH sides..regardless of the amount....better to be safe than sorry....

That's what I want to confirm becoz I've read few post before mentioning that we do not require to pay tax if we work less than 183 days + total income for that period <SGD20K, which I do hope so  laugh.gif
*
Sadly it isnt........based on this calculator in excel which i've downloaded from IRAS websiteNon-resident tax calculator

For example...if you earn SGD20k....as a non-resident your tax will be at SGD3k....at the flat rate of 15%
