I can still pump RON95 if i want as my friend own a Shell petrol station but need to bring a drum to pump and bring back or he ask me to go there and he will tell his bangla to fill up for me, just that i decline as pumping RON95 openly will attract unwanted attention and later those "cari makan" man will come kacau.  tongue.gif

Well, if you want to say in that way, i cannot stop you. Next time, when you go to the petrol station to pump, please make sure yourself or whoever you claim got no problem with RON95, go and ask the pump attentant or cashier or petrol kiosk owner and they should be able to show you the letter from the govt that all foreign plate cars are not allowed to pump RON95 petrol. We are not come here to win an argument but just to share a piece of information and if you cannot accept it peacefully, then, i got no words to say anymore. I have seen this letter in many petrol kiosk. Only in Genting Highland (ESSO) where we are allowed to pump RON95 as they dont have RON 97 but limited to 20 liters. Pumping RON95 without problems doesnt mean that it is allowed, just that you are lucky as they keep their eyes shut or without their knowledge. Understand??  hmm.gif
*
haha, 1st u cari gaduh with Mackiddo, now u wanna argue with me. ok la ok la, u win. i saw the letter at the petrol stations. but do they really enforce?
the answer is "no". u get stopped because u got face problem or when they ask u, u answer them LCLY. if u talk to them nicely, i can say 100% they let u pump.
ok la, u can say that i like to say this, but its part of the "unwritten" law as well. the "unwritten" law i mention here all the time is the general practice.

Well, now u admit you saw the letter and you use the unwritten law as a general practise.  laugh.gif  Now you said i cari gaduh, now u said i LCLY when talk to the pump attendants, now u also said i got face problem. Well, this all come from you and it is you who want to cari gaduh. U look at all my post, whichever post that i post it with intention to cari gaduh, please tell me. I only mentioned you are out-dated in a nice way, and you started all this accusation. Somemore, u drag your friend into this. There is no win nor lose in this cyber world, nor do we benefit anything from it. Even with Mackiddo, i dont have anything against him even we have argued (i treat it as friendly argument) on the JPJ letter as all trying to points out what is fact from both end and we are talking personal experience. But you, using accusation to provoke a potentially cyber world gaduh. I assume you are only 24 years old from your nick, and this very much tells me of your immaturity. I will stop this topic with you because it is a waste of time if want to gaduh. rclxub.gif

KOTA KINABALU, Aug 1 — Effective today, only Malaysian citizens are allowed to purchase the RON95 petrol, while foreigners can only purchase the RON97.

For Malaysian citizens driving foreign-registered cars, they will be required to show their identity card (MyKad) before they are allowed to purchase the RON95 petrol.

Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who announced the new ruling on July 16, said the government realised that many Malaysians working in Singapore owned Singapore-registered cars and travelled frequently to Johor Baharu.

“So, they just have to show their identity card at petrol stations because we want to make sure that RON95 petrol is sold only to Malaysians,” he told reporters after opening the Sabah Coop Fest 2010 here today.

He said the ministry would also deploy its enforcement officers to several petrol stations at borders to ensure that the new ruling was being adhered to.

Meanwhile, in Johor Baru, Bernama found that motorists from Singapore had no problems in getting their fuel supply as most of them had been using RON97 instead of RON95.

Noorini Adam, 35, from Singapore, said she had no problem adhering to the new ruling as the fuel sold here was still cheaper than those in Singapore.

“It’s alright; as long as we are allowed to purchase the fuel here,” said the housewife who enters Malaysia fortnightly.

A supervisor at a petrol station near the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex here, Mahrop Md Salleh, 21, said they had no problem in implementing the new ruling although the number of foreign vehicles refuelling at the station could reach hundreds daily.

“We will inform them about the new ruling. The station also has additional RON97 pumps for the convenience of the customers,” he said. — Bernama

Malaysian owners of foreign-registered vehicles can buy RON95
November 15, 2010 By lukeking

Here’s some news for Singapore drivers who drive up to Malaysia. A few months ago in August or September 2010 the petrol subsides on RON 98 have been removed. The outcome was foreign registered vehicles are forbidden to purchase RON 95 or lower petrol as it is still heavily subsidized by the government.

This has been in place for a couple of months. However if you see a Singapore registered car pumping RON 95, don’t assume that you can do it too. The reason these Singapore registered car owners are allowed to pump RON 95 is because they are Malaysian’s working in Singapore with vehicles registered in Singapore.

For individuals who can produce a MyKad identification, they are allowed to pump RON 95 fuels. So the next time you travel up to Malaysia and see a foreign registered car pumping petrol do know which petrol you can pump.

Hate to say two times that you are out-dated. Please dont show the old articles which there is a new govt directive given out in June/July(not sure which month). Also dont ask me to show any link on this as i dont have but if you really keen to know, please find out from the petrol station at JB or any forumers in JB can check and let you know. Peace. whistling.gif

Yes, directive and implementation is 2 different things. One hand they directed it, another hand, they didnt follow. But, since there is a directive, if get caught(if you are really suai), it is either kautim with kopi duit or face the charges(dont know what charges would be). anyone know here? tongue.gif

Forumers in JB?? Ain't I 1 of them?? Ever wonder why I know so much of those unwritten rules?? Coz I travel everyday. "7 days a week. Even I not working I will come in sg for gathering with others" so I will chit chat with a few auxiliary police when queuing in immigration. That's why I always say there are 2 laws in kastam and almost everywhere. They see u face prob, they kacau u. If u are friendly and nice and frequent /regular patron, that's when the 2nd laws come in.

My EP got approved in less than 48 hours. Will work in Defu this September.

How do you first move to Singapore? You had separate visit to Singapore and get a room first? or Stay in a hostel, working while looking for room?

The dilemma I have now, is that I start work on 19th of September. Haven't decide whether I should start renting on September, or only in October. Judging the location of my workplace, I probably get to walk to work if I stay in Hougang Avenue.

Currently I'm researching on the cheapest postpaid mobile phone and data plan too. The "incoming" phone rate is confusing me. I need to pay when other ppl call me? @@ LOL

Will frequently travel back KL most of the weekend, if not every weekend.

*edit: anyone play futsal in singapore? smile.gif
*
i moved to Singapore the day before i start work. I start work at 15th and i move to Singapore at 13th night. move in to the rented room directly because it belongs to my secondary school classmate's aunt. try to ask around ur friend's in KL, i think most of them do have friends or relative in SG. ask them if they have a room to let. coz its a win-win situation for both. you get cheap rental and good landlord while your friend's relative/friend get a good tenant and Malaysian (Singaporean prefer to rent it to Malaysian compare to other nationality). Also you both save on agent fees and also doesn't need to be bound by a contract.

Hi Guys,

After long waited I finally will joining u guys in Spore somewhere mid of Sep  rclxm9.gif

Got few clarification appreciate if u guys could help me out.
The HR personnel asked me to open POSB account and to have Spore mobile number before my reporting day.

POSB - So I wonder if I can open saving account with POSB now only with my passport/IC & $500 as obviously I still not holding EP card yet? I asked the HR personnel she said can. But iinm somebody mentioned require EP card in order to open an account. Can anyone confirm this?

Spore mobile number – since I still not holding EP card believed I only eligible for prepaid. How much does it cost for starter pack and how is the charges alike? Any recommended telco service? Seems I have to live with prepaid first and change to postpaid later on (maybe until Iphone 5 is avail  brows.gif )

Transportation – I plan to stay at gelang patah together with my fren. Can anybody share how long usually does it take to travel by bike thru second link from gelang patah to gul road area? Say I need to arrive office at somewhere 0700-0715hrs what time should I leave home approximately?
And do I need to have the device for paying some kind of “toll” in Spore (totally couldn’t recall the name of the thing LOL)?

Thanks in advance  notworthy.gif
*
Question 1.

You can open a savings account only if you got the in-principle approval letter from MOM (mine is DBS anyway, not sure if POSB is same)

Question 2.

Singapore prepaid package is around $15 (i bought Singtel last time). but bare in mind u cannot use the same number when u want to convert to postpaid (stupid sysyem).

Question 3

2nd link I am not too sure. But for Causeway, I usually leave house at 7:30am. sometimes will reach office at 8:30am, sometimes reach at 8:45am.
The queue on the Kastam takes around 10-30mins. I believe 2nd link should be the same. i see that ur office and house is very near to 2nd link. I think 1 hour should be enough.
also need to see what is the average speed u ride la. if u ride 60-80kph, then better leave 2 hour early.

1. Then I believed I should request the in-principle approval letter from my HR. Scan copy is acceptable right?

2. I shall put Singtel in my consideration then. Need to study further what are their charges n so. Noted same number couldn't be used. Then this will be little bit hassle on my changing period then. Can't use the in-principle approval letter as well for this case?  brows.gif

3. I only ride kapcai, top I could go is 100-110kph oni..then i think i should leave 2 hours before for 1st few days to ensure i'm not late and from there adjusting accordingly. That mean i need to wake up ard 430am shocking.gif  sweat.gif

Urm then another question pop out. how should i enter by my bike on my 1st working day since i'm still consider as visitor at that time? means i need to get the autopass card from imigresen issit? erm i need to google out more info about this.
Btw how many days should it takes to get my EP card? 1 day will do?
*
u start work at 7am?? no nid so early wake up la. I work at 9, i also wake up at 7am. 30 mins is more than enough for a guy to change and bath.
somemore my house to my office, the distance is 38KM. its freaking far. if i were u, i just leave house 1 hour early will do. I also ride a scooter only.
doing average 120kph on highway, but because i use causeway, so most of the time stuck between cars and move at 70-80kph.

regarding your question, you need to enter Singapore with the white card on the 1st day. Then after they submit the inprincipal approval letter with the white , they will give u a new letter.
You can enter JB-SG with that letter, that letter serve as a temporary EP for you. you should be able to collect the physical card 3-4days later.
If you are riding a Malaysian bike, just cross the immigration normally, then go and do a Autopass. I see that your office is very near to 2nd link, i dun think you will need to install the IU.
And also AYE got no ERP near Tuas section. you will need the IU if u want to go town because if u cross 1 ERP without the IU, its $70.

what is 'white card' actually? I tot IPA letter issued by HR is sufficient for us to enter sg first day?
*
nope, you get your IPA when ur employer apply a work pass for you and MOM approved it. its a in-principal approval. at this stage, you have not go through the medical check.
So you still need to submit your medical report etc etc. after you submit those, then only you submit ur IPA, ur White card (proper name is immigration card). to the WPSC (work pass service center) (for my case bcoz i am work permit holder
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
). WPSC will issue you with another letter. That letter is a letter to prove that u have submitted all documents and it will indicate a date when you can collect your card.

I start work at 730am. Maybe for 1st few days I'll go out at 6am coz still not familiar with the procedure and total time required.

This autopass is a lifetime card/pass or need to get/do everyday? I've googled around and read inside land transport autority website but couldn't find any clear details on this.
*
Autopass is works as a cash card for your foreign vehicle. it stores you car/bike details on it so LTA will know when this car enter and exit Singapore.
Autopass have a lifespan of 5 years. it cost you $10 to purchase the card with $4 pre-loaded on the card it self (means its $6 for the card).
you can top up your autopass at any DBS/POSB ATM machine to pay the VEP and toll charges.
Autopass also stores your Malaysian roadtax details on it. When your roadtax expires, you need to bring the new roadtax and the autopass to LTA office to update (can be done at check point).
In other words, Autopass is like the passport for your foreign car in SG. When the 5 years is up, you need to purchase a new autopass (same $10 with $4 preloaded).
You would also need to purchase a new autopass if u forgot to bring or lost the autopass card. Because of that, my bike now has 2 autopass.

So u finally open ur account after getting the EP card?

Added on July 27, 2011, 3:11 pm

So above answered my question regarding to admin fee just now. Splendid.
TQ  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif
*
sorry, i din read your question completely, lets me clarify this because u are using 2nd link.

Admin Fees

On admin fees, this will be charge to your card directly. Admin fees will incur if you din do what u should do when u enter and exit the checkpoint.
let me give you a scenario to explain this further.

FYI, everytime u enter and exit Singapore, u need to slot your autopass in to pay the toll. lets say u forgot to slot the card when u enter. then when u exit, when u slot it in, error will occur and you need to go to the LTA office. When LTA office find out you din punch in in the morning, that's when they charge u $10 admin fees to help u key in the details manually.

Toll Charges

For motorbike, you need to pay $0.50 toll charges upon enter and also exit Singapore. So you are paying $1 daily. This is for the Singapore side, Malaysia side, you need to prepare a Touch N Go card coz you need to pay Rm1.20 upon arriving and departing. so total cost for 1 day will be $4 VEP + $0.50 + $0.50 + Rm1.20 + RM1.20.

At Causeway (Woodlands), no toll will be charge to Motorcycles. So I am only Paying $4 VEP daily.

Scenarios:

Lets say u enter from Causeway and departing at Tuas, You will need to pay $4 VEP + $0.50 +Rm1.20. Because when u enter, you are not paying the Malaysian toll and also Singapore toll. Only charged you when u depart. If you got any Doubts, can always ask me. smile.gif

*
to be frank, Seletar airport is not far from Causeway. My office is in AMK industrial area. from causeway to my office, its only 13 mins riding. if seletar, i think 20 mins is more than enough.
If u stay in JB near town, u can leave home around 8am if u start work at 9am. definitely can make it and if u look at it, its better than staying in SG because to get to Seletar airport by public transport, it take almost the same time. (assuming u stay near Yishun or Sembawang area)

ok la, kesian see no ppl reply you. all those "atas" people doesn't bother to reply to ppl looking for cheap jobs.

Basically Auxilary Police is smth like Police Bantuan in Singapore.
They will be placed at checkpoints (Woodlands, Harbour Front, Tuas and Changi Airport) to assist police to control traffic, control crowd etc etc.

Sometimes when there is big events, Auxilary Police will help to control the crowd as well (like Rela in Malaysia).

1 thing is I see some Auxilary Police do carry guns. So they are like 70% police in my opinion (correct me if i am wrong).

but their job is mainly to control crowd and may be their empowerment is less compare to real Police.

As far as i know, no accommodation is provided, you need to go through 3-6 months training for the position.

Their pay is consider not bad, if not mistaken, its $1.6-$1.8k basic, If + allowance and OT, will get $2.3-$2.5k,

Not a bad option to start in SG. They also have ranking like police, so mayb you can climb higher if you are good.

nothing wrong being a auxilary police. and its a respectable job. but make sure u look a bit ganas type. because u will be controling a bunch of motorcyclist in the morning if u were send to woodlands checkpoint. if u are those lembik type, u sure kena bully gao gao. As you know, those commuting from JB to SG daily on motorcycles are those gangster gangster a bit type. like me, If someone provoke me, sure end up in a fist fight edi.
There was once that ppl are fighting in the immigration because of cut queue. So make sure u are physically fit if you are into that role.
But like i said, mayb the 1st 2-3 years u are a low rank ppl. but i do heard that their career path is not bad.

ok, changed to an angry pokemon biggrin.gif .

it really depends on luck. if u are lucky and u get into the fast side, queue only take 10 mins.
If you are unlucky, u might stuck for around 50mins. the lanes are control by auxilary police.
some motorcyclist will wait the auxilary police to open the fast side, it causes jam at the bridge.
thats why i say to be an auxilary police, u need to be fierce enough to ask them go in to the slow side.

If I have to live near my office, it will be 20 mins and I need a car to drive, no transport there in rural area.
Share room with someone is not comfortable, share a unit is still ok.. Now, I will look for the cheaper housing rental.
Btw, which one is more important for you, TIME or MONEY?

You go to the many websites and look at the advertisement with agents, and ask the agent to find a room for you, there are so many agents there. They also looking for customers like you unless you are looking for no agent advertisement to save the agent fees. You can come down to singapore and go to bus stop, bus station or supermarket where they have some advertisement board and chekc out yourself if anyone posting rooms for let.

opss... then i correct my statement, i live comfortably in JB with my current work permit pay. only Seantang, Mackiddo and mayb Mercury can live like King in Malaysia.
