From what i can tell it is pretty much landscape only on full screen, to watch it in portrait mode, you cant go full screen. An alternative is to download the video then watch it with a 3rd party player like moboplayer which should support portrait mode (if i recalled correctly).

Bro,

You probably get the wrong message.

I was talking about the full screen landscape mode whereby this not only apply to Youtube but others player as well. When we are in landscape mode, the screen will remained even we turned our device in another way round.

Oh, sorry i misunderstood there..if what you mean is that some players dont rotate the screen when you're watching a full screen video, then yes, some apps appear to lock you in that rotation mode. apps like moboplayer for instance, say you are in landscape mode and are viewing a video, then you flip the tablet 180 degrees, it will be shown upside down and not the right side up. This is due to application design for some reason. If you take the Gallery app for instance, and you view a video there, you can rotate it just fine in any direction and the video will appear in the right side up...so to conclude, its just the way the app is designed, nothing much you can do about it.

i'm mistaken, for moboplayer you can set the option actually - you have to enable the "screen rotation" option in the mobo player's preferences page then it will behave like the gallery app..for others, its just a limitation, even games cannot be played on the upside down 180 degree flip side.

yes here's a simple list of stuff to check:

1) Light bleed, most visible in highest brightness setting, middle bottom area where the charging port is for the tablet. Most people have light bleed in this area and i'm getting used to it. If other areas of the tablet has light bleed, request for another one and refuse to take it. If its just at the middle bottom area, then i guess its up to you whether to take, but most likely almost every other unit have this light bleed issue.
2) If you're buying the dock, test it out, make sure you can dock the transformer and the dock together. The latch should move from left all the way to the right, cannot be inbetween whatsoever. Some pressure is needed to push/press the tablet towards the dock, this is normal. If after you put pressure and the latch still doesnt go all the way to the right side, request a new dock, refuse to take the unit they offer.
3) Test out the keyboard dock keys, press all of them in polaris office, make sure all the keys register properly. Also test out the touchpad make sure it is ok when moving the mouse cursor on the screen and also the left and right clicks register. Left click is to launch an app or perform an operation such as button clicks like in windows and right click functions as a back button / back key in Android (not like in windows where the context menu usually appears).
4) Bring along these items if you have to test the connectivity options -> USB external mouse (for dock), USB pendrive, SD Card, MicroSD card. Use them to test out the various ports on the tablet and the dock. Tablet only have microsd and mini hdmi port, so you can bring a microsd card to test if you're buying the dock only. Mini HDMI you can only test at home unless you can test it somewhere that has a tv and you also need a mini hdmi -> hdmi output cable.
5) Test the speakers, try to see if you can listen carefully whether the left and right side speakers are balanced and not louder for one of them compared to the other (i.e: left louder than right or vice versa). Several forummers here have this issue (but I don't). So test that out. Also bring an earphone if you have, to test out the earphone jack too.

That's pretty much all I can remember on the top off my head. Regarding the warranty as i know asus malaysia is giving international warranty. Good luck smile.gif

dont worry, they're not likely to go bankrupt or anything, just poor customer service..especially the one in midvalley, in other places not so sure if they're ok or not. most of us bought it at midvalley during the initial launch and got poor treatment from their staff.

I went to the one at Lowyat. Not bad, I suppose, if you discount the fact that he didn't have all the info I asked for (is ok, we're all human haha) and he...didn't know what payment method I could use other than hard cash? That part was funny. Lol. Thanks for clarifying, I thought it was something more serious like bogus products or something. Whew.

Enjoy your tablets people =) I'm charging mine now, will use it tonight hehehe.
