I noticed the latest 3.2 update is causing a major battery drain and its not only in the dock, but in the tablet only mode too. at first i thought is some app then apparently in xda forum there are other pple complaining this. They recommended to install a program called CPUSpy to check if your tablet goes into a "deep sleep" state or otherwise. if it doesnt, means theres a problem. To temporarily solve this at the moment, you need to do a reboot to get rid of this issue. Hopefully ASUS is aware of this and will issue a patch to solve this soon. QUOTE(Euro @ Oct 11 2011, 06:46 AM) I would like to recommend an app also, which can help tackle the batterydrain. And I also found this tip on the xda forum : There are 2 apps with the same name, you need to get the one from DON : https://market.android.com/developer?pub=DONthe auto airplane app only permanently disables the wifi when you go into airplane mode and then reconnects when not in airplane mode as oppose to normally when you are in airplane mode, then turn it off, the wifi is actually still connected, just that you couldn't use the network while in airplane mode. the deep sleep issue is not solved by this app, whether you turn on the app service and then go into airplane mode, once you lose "deep sleep", you can only recover by doing a full reboot. this is what I noticed so far. I'm still trying to replicate this issue so I can notify ASUS on this. But confirmed that the latest update is causing this problem.

QUOTE(kakashi44 @ Oct 11 2011, 09:10 PM) is there anyone who facing the battery drain after docked with keyboard? Is there a way to repair it? I had send my transformer to JB service center to repair the battery drain issue but after 2 week and i ask them the status, they told me they don't how to fix it. WTF yes read my last few posts. this happened on the latest 3.21 update. previous update was fine. its a software bug not hardware

QUOTE(kakashi44 @ Oct 11 2011, 09:27 PM) I had this problem even before the update. My battery will drained when it is docked with the keyboard (even when the power is off). The battery doesn't leak when i did not docked with the keyboard if your dock is b50 series (and if not mistaken some b60 series serial), then its possible to be a hardware issue. but did you test out with the mobile docking battery saving mode enabled in the settings > screen section? if it still drains a lot with that (by right over a period of about 7-8 hours it should only drain at max 1-3% of inactivity. if it drains a lot more then its hardware problem. the issue i described can be checked by using the app called CPUSpy and checking whether the OS goes into deep sleep or not. If it doesnt go into deep sleep, the battery will have a massive drain until you reboot the OS to "reset" the state and re-gain deep sleep mode.

QUOTE(kakashi44 @ Oct 11 2011, 09:42 PM) My dock is B50 and i failed the test out with the mobile docking battery saving mode enabled in the settings > screen section. My battery drain about 1-2% every hour. The worst thing is JB service center told me they dunno how to repair after 2 week and they said they need more time to figure out what is the problem by right my understanding is that they should replace the dock with a brand new one, i believe some of the guys here have gotten a new dock i think. i cant remember, maybe someone else can help on this issue?

QUOTE(gr8fr8 @ Oct 12 2011, 04:38 PM) Is it just me, or is it after the latest update, the batteries seem to drain much faster, even on idle and not using it? Previously it could last up until 4-5 days on idle, with wifi on. Nowadays it could only last 2 days at most. To be more detailed, this afternoon, it was around 26%. Now at the time of writing it is less than 10% already. yes there is a drain problem. please read my post 1-2 pages back.

QUOTE(ishwar100 @ Oct 18 2011, 11:56 PM) hei guys just got back my TF yesterday. The new lcd does work well no more light bleed issue. The new panel looks more darker on the inside(when not switched on). Not bad the SC at Imbi plaza KL they really did a good job even the battery life issue also gone. i tried playing video 720p(continoues looping) and the battery can last for about 7h 45m(without docking). So for you guys with screen bleed issues you can send the SC at Imbi plaza. The battery issue also can send there according to them there is a patch for the new update that is not included in the update that causes this problem they haven't uploaded on the update yet... so for now have to send in at SC only when did you send it in?

QUOTE(ishwar100 @ Oct 19 2011, 09:46 PM) i sent it in on the 4th october. It only took them about 2 weeks to fix it. Their new lcd does solve the screen bleed issue. was your tablet reset to factory settings or did they just replace the screen without touching your software and/or settings?

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Oct 20 2011, 10:58 AM) i love you, asus... yeap, good news. but HoneyComb -> ICS isn't too big a change that's why I think its not difficult to upgrade it to ICS. but its good to see ASUS taking the first step to announce this and potentially be the first manufacturer to release ICS for tablets.

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Oct 20 2011, 11:33 AM) i personally think HC --> ICS is also a big leap but like you, ya... the more impressive thing is that Asus have been really fast in the firmware updates. and now, already stating TF101 will be getting ICS. most other manufacturers, including phone makers, are still quiet about this. yep..why i say HC to ICS is not that big a leap is because most of what ICS has, HC already have except minor tweaks here and there to the UI and usability parts. Its a bigger leap if you're talking about GingerBread to ICS which is why a lot of manufacturers are keeping quiet at the moment because I think ICS represents a big change just like HoneyComb was, so if they were to add their custom UI on top they have to redesign it too..
