QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Dec 22 2017, 08:34 PM) is this thinkpad community dead? Lenovo store at mid valley sells T470.i'm interested in getting a lenovo thinkpad laptop. is there any shops in LYP that sells thinkpad? or is buying from the official lenovo website the best option? lazada is hopeless too as its options are too limited. But the configuration is standard. |

QUOTE(spongejade1221 @ Dec 28 2017, 11:39 AM) https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/...470~20H10039US/a typical screen costs about RM 200-RM 250. so i guess anything more than RM 500 plus labour charge is not worth. |

They should at least make the bezel thinner, and use the space to increase 0.5 inch screen size for 2018.

QUOTE(rwb911 @ Apr 9 2018, 05:26 PM) Hi guys! I hope this is the right place, if it isn't please remove it or let me know ya. I m using T430s and the performance is quite good as the CPU has a TDP 35W. I'm a student looking to get a second hand laptop below 1k. My budget is unfortunately very low but regardless, I don't need to high spec because I won't be gaming and only be doing my work on my laptop. I've seen many recommendations for ThinkPads and I must say I'm very inclined to them! I would like to know from owners of ThinkPads, what are some things that prospective buyers have to look for and usually what's the ballpark figure like and if possible, what are the models to go for? So have I've seen the T430S very well recommended. I've seen very cheap thinkpads and I've seen expensive ones, even though they are pretty old by laptop standards. Appreciate your kind replies. Thanks all... Therefore is able to sustain the max clock speed. Max temp under very heavy load is 75 Celsius. I use this machine to play league of legend everyday. FPS between 40 to 130 @1600 x 900. Keyboard switch is using the older T420 type. Later version they change to inferior switch as the actuation force become less and firm. Battery life is weak and average about 2 hours. |

QUOTE(rwb911 @ Apr 15 2018, 09:24 AM) Hi, thank you for the reply! Really says a lot about the quality. I love this community already! I got T430s i5 3320m, 8GB RAM, 320GB HDD, comes with Original Windows 10 pro at RM 900. ( 3 months warranty somemore)The target is of course a T430/s, because I'm looking for something with i5 and 8gigs of RAM. However, I saw someone selling a T420, i5 with 8gb at around 850. What do you guys think? Can trust or shady? Also, what are the things to ask about/look out for when buying a used thinkpad? I replaced the boot disk to 240GB SSD and move the 320GB HDD to the DVD ROM slot, and replaced a new battery. T420 is too expensive for 850. I know it's hard to find a good T430s but I really recommend to get this model. |

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Jul 5 2019, 10:40 AM) Users of old ThinkPads (like T450 or earlier) and Win10, do you use the Lenovo Vantage from Microsoft Store? I m using T430s and Win 10 ver 1903.I just reformatted mine. Definitely need an app to set my battery charge limit. Besides that, everyone here already upgraded their Win10 to 1903? Any bugs? Do you need to re-update certain drivers? I don't use any Lenovo apps or programs. Everything from "stock" Win 1903 works perfectly out of the box. No extra drivers needed. |
