Wah, lucky u, bro... U have two IBM laptops but at least it was given rather than self-purchase ya...

Btw, i opened another thread asking whether it is possible to upgrade the RAM on my R50... Not too sure whether this can be done or not, otherwise the existing one has to be ditched completely for a higher-capacity replacement!

Speaking of IBM, didn't they just officially open their Plaza at Bandar Utama? Which part of the building is their Service Center located, btW?

I know IBM is great and so do their killer gem keyboard Levono, but the design let me down. I hate the red colour rubber thing. Hehe. But nice to use. Anyway, it's for businessman la..haha

Hehehe, that i have to agree... For its reliability and good performance, they have to "spoil" things with that plain and uninspiring design... However, after using this PC for more than a year, i've already got used to that reddot thingy! laugh.gif

Just to ask, how much is a cooling fan? I may want to consider one as i use this laptop everyday and at times, i get worried about the heat the computer generates...

Lithium Ion battery will degrade in capacity if:

- Frequently charged from 0%

- Frequently charged from 95% to 100%

So only fully charge the battery whenever there is a need to bring it out.
*
Wow, that means i need to take out the battery again... Although i do not use my laptop that often unless at the WiFi spot or in the office, the battery remains connected to the base... Of course, when there is a power-cut and the battery is still connected, at least there is no worry of losing the data!

HAha, yeah! the beep scares me a few times in the middle of the night. Glad there's an option to turn it off. It's really annoying when typing fast.
*
Yups, every time i also type fast, the "Beep" will always sound and i was thinking what is going on with the laptop! laugh.gif

Austin, then where to get the extra RAM installed, just to ask? I really need to go for heavier RAM so that the computer will not always lag when online or doing some work...

At least yours is above 1GB RAM, pisces... My R50 is only running at a miserly 256MB and its certainly time for an upgrade!

Yups, i have to agree with u there... The computer runs like a slowpoke nowadays, due to the much faster and memory-consuming applications available... Dunno how much will it cost for an upgrade to 512MB RAM leh?

For me, 4GB is a bit too heavy for a laptop... If thats for my desktop, then i'm willing to consider... In the meantime, the proposed expansion of my RAM to 512MB should be more than enough as it will be the same size as that of my desktop!

Depends... I have not brought my laptop with me on overseas flights but for local ones (i.e. travel by car), i keep the computer in a separate bag... It may be a bit more ma-fan to carry one extra bag but at least i won't have to worry about the laptop being cluttered together with my clothes!
