lgs: did you check your laptop warranty status online? is the date stated there same as the date you purchased your laptop?

If you want 1G RAM, then you gotta buy additional 1GB RAM. Plus the default RAM 256 tat will be 1G + 256MB = 1080MB. Ask for free gift if possible.

aiks.. holiday till my math calculation also become lousy.. haha.. standard one math oso cannot calculate well.. Ya.. the RAM is indeed not enough, got to add another stick. For me, I got 512MB RAM free when I purchased my laptop. If you are in tight budget, try considering to add 512MB 1st.. Or ask for free RAM upgrade.

jamezco: Yes. It's KTM-TP3840/1G. It's possible that the performance will increase if u use IBM certified RAM. For me 512 + 256 is enough. Dunno if it's enough for u o not..

Btw, do anyone using LCD screen protector here? I hardly find any 14.1" LCD screen protector for my lovely R52. Where can I get it?

Anyone facing problem with LCD? Mine got a small tiny area in which the brightness is different.. Like a mark that is unwipeable.. what kind of mark is it? Only can be seen when LCD is on..

Yea.. Thinkpad is definitely great compared to others. I am a R52 user here. It serves me well, almost 2 years dy still don't have any problem. Hopefully it wil last for years as what I told my friends, this is gonna be my laptop for next few years. Even if it spoilt, the next lappy I am going to purchase is Thinkpad series as well.

Since you just bought, faster send it back then they might change a new unit for you.

My R52 keyboard got problem... Half of "Enter" key cannot be pressed down.. Another half also sth wrong (sometimes cannot input) after i try to solve it.. any solution to it? Or only solution is to change the keyboard? how much does it cost?
