I don't agree on using the term "stupid" in spending money in BD.

What about spending money on
1. Cigarettes
2. Hard Liquor
3. Buying numbers (gaming) / gambling
4. Other type of entertainment - as in massage, KTV

I don't spend a single cent on the above - thus, I believe my little "sinful" spending in BDs is still acceptable as I stay home to watch BD together with family - rather than spending money outside with friends drinking, clubbing. Whenever I use the above reasoning, my wife have nothing to say and even support me sometimes - financially!!

I was referring to the message from Jen77's signature [in quote].. tongue.gif . I don't agree with the usage of the term "stupid" when comes to spending on entertainment. What else we have after a hard day at work in'it..

Cannibal Holocaust Blu-ray

user posted image

British distributors Shameless Screen Entertainment are set to release on Blu-ray Ruggero Deodato's highly controversial Cannibal Holocaust (1980). According to a statement released by the distributors, director Deodato has revisited his classic of horror cinema to produce a brand new Director's Edit of the film especially for its High Definition debut on Blu-ray.

This new Director's Edit, which removes or partially hides several instances of real-life animal slaughter, will be released as a special Blu-ray and as two-disc DVD edition that includes both the new version and the original full version of Cannibal Holocaust, along with a host of extras specially commissioned for this release.

In a statement explaining the artistic decision to re-edit the film, Deodato says, "At the time, I would have preferred not to kill the animals during the making of the film, but this was requested by the producers. We'd sent them some early dailies and they kept calling us on set in the jungle asking us to shoot increasingly bloody scenes."

"I would not change anything to the film, its structure and content, aside from the fact that, now – thirty years later – I've reassessed the way the animals were dealt with. Now I would not do it."

An extremely violent and gory film, containing strong sex, sexual violence and animal slaughter, Cannibal Holocaust is a powerful and provocative work concerning a crew of documentary filmmakers who go missing while filming primitive cannibal tribes deep in the Amazonian rain forest. The horrific footage they shot before disappearing is found by the members of a second expedition who soon discover the horrific truth behind their demise.

Special Features
  • Introduction to the original film by director Ruggero Deodato
.
  • Introduction to the new Director's Edit by Ruggero Deodato.
  • "Film And Be Damned" – inteview with Ruggero Deodato and actor Carl G. Yorke.
  • "The Long Road Back From Hell" – specially commissioned documentary by Cine Excess featuring Kim Newman, Professor Julian Petley, Professor Mary Wood, Ruggero Deodato, Carl G. Yorke and actress Francesca Ciardi.
  • Theatrical Trailer.

  • Easter Egg.
  • Shameless Trailer Park.

Link 2

2. Blu-ray yes, DVD yes (but not recommended), ACD yes (not recommended). Its Region A and accepts Region C i guess.
3. Buy from LYN Sellers, the best source for cheap blu-ray movies. eBay (if you are good at bidding and identifying the exclusives). Speedy / Ezy Video not recommended due to pricing.

  • Samsung BD-C5500 (if still can find) or newer version BD-D5500 | Sony S370 (if still can find) or newer version S470
  • Yes, all playable, Blu-ray is Region A locked (unable to unlock at the moment), DVD (region free for Sony | Region 3 locked for Samsung, mostly can unlocked via remote control, Google for solution). [At market, only higher price (RM 1.5k and above) BD Player like Dune and Oppo capable of playing all region BD at the moment)

Interesting fact on Cannibal Holocaust's director Ruggero Deodato

After its 1980 release, rumors broke out that the brutal murders depicted on film were real, Director Ruggero Deodato was accused of murdering five of his actors. Deodato had to track down four of the actors in the United States so that they could prove to the court that they were still alive. He had trouble finding the actress who played the infamous “impaled girl”. Instead he had his special effects team explain to the court how it was done

A brother-like of mine had a personal bodyguard where ever he roams. If you hire and pay the bodyguard , they will even kill the own boss. They are not civilized people to know the value of human being's life. He somehow rather worked for a year in a water plant and cabut as soon as finishes the project.

He even witnessed "human soup" in front of his own eye. They just segregated the human flesh and bones after being "cooked". Damn it! Cannibal habis!

I don't think so, as Sleeping Beauty already vault, and that current slipcover is the most nicer ever did by Disney. Snow White just in vault not long ago.

They do will re-release after few more years but not now.

You know the meaning of the word "Hope"? It means, wish to have it although in reality it would not take place doh.gif
I know there's a re-release , 3-4 years once, if i read somewhere correctly.

Snow White has already been released in the Diamond Edition.  So it won't be released again until they come up with a new series.

Sleeping Beauty is in the list for a Diamond Edition release, the previous one was as a Platinum Edition.

Disney will re-release all the Platinum Edition titles except Aladdin under the Diamond Edition, and it should be done by 2016.

Lady And The Tramp is the next title to be released under the Diamond Edition in 2012.
