Recently I received a free Toshiba M100-1211E laptop (buying car from Proton) which is preloaded with Windows Vista(togther with the receovery CD).
Then I format the OS, partition the hdd, install Win XP.
After installed XP and install drivers downloaded from Toshiba Worldwide, I found that some drivers are missing or not working.
Those are LAN, Sound and Modem.
I download these drivers again from Toshiba Sing and only manage to make the LAN to work.
I did some search over google. Someone using M100 also face similar issue.
I follow their instrcutions.
- Downgrade the BIOS to 2.6 (it's stated in Toshiba webside that the v5.x is only for Vista and v2.5 or above is XP/Vista compatible)
- Install KB835221 & KB888111.
- Remove the driver and let windows detect, if fail, try the driver from Realtek (high definition audio).
at this point, i tried drivers from toshiba worldwide and sing, both still same.
I tried the one from realtek, yeah, the driver install properly.
The modem, i use Unimodem, and no complains (i didn't test it as i'll not use it)
Then install other software, pull in the files, did the setting.
Wait, the Mic input.... (i tested the mic, it's workon other machine, i also use another mic to test, same result).
The audio input is not working. The speaker also sometime got sound some time don't have. (If i use headset, it's normal at headset site)
I tried to remove the driver and use the installation setup file for every source i download from. Not working.
I also flash the BIOS again to v2.7.
Problem still, the mic still like no response.
Any ideas?
