After I read your statement, I start looking on my laptop screen carefully and found one dead pixel close to the bottom of the screen. I think I have to live with it...

If u noticed a black tiny dot on the screen, that is dead pixel....here's article that can tell u how's the dead pixels look like.....

Hi, I am new here.

I have an old Satellite Dynabook A1/465CMC. Due to some unsolvable problem, i have to reformat my hdd, and need to do reinstall.

the problem is, the current cdrom malfunction and could not read installation cd, thus i failed to reinstall.

i need to replace the cdrom.

can i replace with ANY cdrom, maybe from dell laptop or sharp laptop, or buy new one.

is there any compatibility issue with cdrom?

hope somebody can clear my question.

Hi friends, i have a Toshiba M40 laptop (around 2 yrs).
Lately i discover tht my LCD screen has some white patches when lit up.
It is some sort like "uneveness" of white light brightness when u see from the top. U will see tht the screen look like a "map" or patches if u use brighter colour background (eg. light blue).
Do u all know what is the cause of tht?

Also, after observing the new laptops in the market now, i discover tht the LCD nowadays are poor (or maybe not) in quality, they hv poor angle of view. For example, when u r looking at the screen from the top, u can't even see a word but only see whole area of white light. Whereas my old screen is still visible from the top...
Why is this so? Is this kind of screen hv better durability(won't hv brightness patches problem) than my old 1?

Hmm, will go into toshiba's website and register for warranty when i'm done setting up the lappie and also will download the drivers for back up....

UPDATE:seems that i have a problem registering online...it kept saying unable to register your product and please send a copy of the proof of purchase to toshiba singapore.

used their talk-2-toshiba and they called me immediately after clicking enter and was able to talk to a LIVE person within 1 minute....the solution was, they told me to call toshiba singpore during working hours....

can my warranty become void if i dont register? very lazy n xpensive la to call...wonder why i cannot register...but when i search for my serial number, it shows up fine with all the warranty info....

the L200 driver have in your L200 hdd.u click my computer,c drive,
in c drive hav a folder hav back up ur driver.

and u need to make recover disc to back up.

Before  I update the webcam driver - Error message "Webcam being used by another application"
After update webcam driver - Error message "Graphics render failed"

It will happened after the laptop idles or return from sleep mode. I have this problem from day one.....Seem no solution till now.....
