Seriously bad day for me. One of those days where everything seems to go wrong and the things you're trying to avoid hits you in the face.

Blur enough to cut my knuckles, don't know how so was bleeding through the sets a bit.

On the deadlift at 275, which is relatively heavy for me, started well enough. A couple of sets of 225, then up to 275.
First pull to get that deadweight moving upwards, felt that dreaded small pop/snap in the middle of my lower back.

"Oh f***"

Lowered the bar immediately. Thankfully it wasn't a sharp pain indicating a slipped disc, suspect more of a muscle issue. But it was seriously sore throughout, took some focus to finish the rest of the workout. At times could barely pick up the DBs off the floor. What pisses me off is it wasn't even a PR attempt.  mad.gif

Gotta KIV some exercises like the squats until further notice. Grrr.

Take care wei. I had experienced back issue with similar incident. Even though it's could be muscle issue. I was freaking worry about a scar tissue formed just becos of this. ZZZ... No one wish to have weaker tissue on back which is very prone to injury.

You do realize I'm not lying right? You guys can ask Pedro how I eat. Sometimes you need a cheat meal to jump start your metabolism. Ever wondered why some of you are eating so insanely strict all year long and have trouble cutting?

Of course I'm not saying eat like me la. Btw, I have already lost a total of more than 16kg, from a bw of 92kg to 75kg.

That is 12% of weight lost, and I believe 10% of them r fat? is it?

Bro, what you do for cardio actually? Running for miles?

Thx, razorboy for answering.

Will doing the cardio longer like 20 mins or 30 burns more? Or it's actually not the more the merrier in term of efficiency?

Hey bros,an illustration question here.

If I was not able to squat a 60kg last time, and now I able to squat a 60kg 3X15. If I'm not moving on to 60kg n above, but continue to made it a 4X15 or even 5X15 with reduced rest time for 60kg squat. Will it build up endurance and made the later path be easier?

Or I should just move on squatting like 3X12X60kg+1X(Rep till failure)X62kg???

Questions regarding breathing. Is it advisable to take a few breathe during a range of motion? Or it should be always a single breathe (inhale and exhale) in a one-rep motion? Always inhale during release and exhale during contraction?

Thx. I think the vid is more on one breathe for both release and contract (one whole rep). I came to this before. But just feel a bit uncomfortable when it comes to heavy weights. Will try to adjust and adapt toward different styles. See what work best for me. Thx once again.

the sad but true thing in malaysia is, there are quite a lot of things which have no future. basketball, music, rugby (rarely seen ppl playing) just to name a few.

Depends on how you see things, I choose to see it optimistically. No future because you haven't see one.

IMO, there are now more and more people working out in a gym, even though not all are interested in BB, but somehow there a quite number that started to have the conscious in BB/power lifting training. Even when I happened to walk into GNC, the sales person tried to introduce me some supplements saying "There are a lot young boys like you taking this blah blah blah."

I believe 10 years ago, there wouldn't be a place for any of the BBers across the country to post pictures of themself and have discussions on.But now at least in Cari,LYN, FB... there are forums for M'sia BBers to interact. And the group is getting bigger and bigger.

What is still not bright now, doesn't mean it's getting dark forever.

My secondary school now opening a small gym for students; My stingy uncle spend on nothing but hired personal trainer at FF and trained with my 17yo cousin.

For sports like rugby, basketball and football etc, there are indeed improvements but just the lack of determination in the sportsmen.I've been Bukit Jalil watching M'sia Team vs Singapore, I swear that M'sians have never been so supporting the national football team.LCW had brought M'sians passion back into Badminton recent years;Nicole David have influence M'sians toward squash.

It doesn't take one day or two to change. But once changes is made, it will be there then.

=) I believe that not all of us know and like BB/Power Lifting since the first day we are born.
