the sad but true thing in malaysia is, there are quite a lot of things which have no future. basketball, music, rugby (rarely seen ppl playing) just to name a few.
Depends on how you see things, I choose to see it optimistically. No future because you haven't see one.
IMO, there are now more and more people working out in a gym, even though not all are interested in BB, but somehow there a quite number that started to have the conscious in BB/power lifting training. Even when I happened to walk into GNC, the sales person tried to introduce me some supplements saying "There are a lot young boys like you taking this blah blah blah."
I believe 10 years ago, there wouldn't be a place for any of the BBers across the country to post pictures of themself and have discussions on.But now at least in Cari,LYN, FB... there are forums for M'sia BBers to interact. And the group is getting bigger and bigger.
What is still not bright now, doesn't mean it's getting dark forever.
My secondary school now opening a small gym for students; My stingy uncle spend on nothing but hired personal trainer at FF and trained with my 17yo cousin.
For sports like rugby, basketball and football etc, there are indeed improvements but just the lack of determination in the sportsmen.I've been Bukit Jalil watching M'sia Team vs Singapore, I swear that M'sians have never been so supporting the national football team.LCW had brought M'sians passion back into Badminton recent years;Nicole David have influence M'sians toward squash.
It doesn't take one day or two to change. But once changes is made, it will be there then.
=) I believe that not all of us know and like BB/Power Lifting since the first day we are born.
