To root. flash any custom kernel like cf-root, speedmod, galaxian, talon. Instruction in first page. If you can do this, tweaking and modding with themes will be easy!

Hi, just wanna ask if i put my galaxy S on airplane mode then on wifi.
Will it charge my data roaming?
I'm using post paid.
2nd question is, if my phone is on normal mode with wifi, will it charge my data roaming?
100MB seems to go off fast, but i seldom on it

Tempted to flash to custom rom, been recommended by a fellow Elite to go ahead with Galnet MIUI. Should i go ahead? I do notice a number of you guys using CM7 though.

Yep, agree with u. Zero issues with speedmod, with galaxian sometimes the wifi turn on and off by itself. i'm thinking to try JVR, but some debates that its got some modified files from JVQ and one thing i found kinda weird, how come the darkyy rom crew can be associated with samfirmware??

Well, for both your questions, i think if you disable (untick) your mobile network and the data roaming, i think u're good to go. wifi doesnt affect your data plan.

GalnetMIUI is one good rom, have eye-candy looks( kinda iphonish), smooth and stable but no fm radio, choppy 720p video playback. for CM7, the rom is pretty simple and all the bugs from MIUI comes from Cm7 built also, but the big advantages is its lagless compare to any other samsung rom and cm7 have kinda simple like AOSP looks.

yep, and the recording too also in 720p is not good as in stock samsung rom. what rom u're now on? but if cm7 or miui team will ever iron those bugs out, i'm never ever gonna turn my back to samsung rom anymore.

i'm tired of waiting for official 2.3.4 to come out to our sgs. i feel like want to rompak one GS2 already.

Yeah speedmod is stable, but sometimes it's a little bit too yellow for me, the colour tint. Other than that it's fine, tangan gatal flash here and there

So far talon is working fine, though I don't get why pingchat FCs when I turn on wifi ( both on galaxian and talon.. I think it happens on speedmod too).

Guys, I am trying out Galaxian GT-1200R Kernel, and it say to convert to EXT4, you need Chainfire's EXT4 tool, may I know where to donwload it? Thanks

hi guys, how accurate is the reading from battery monitor widget?
cause last week i flashed to juwe 5.2(wipe) and battery is not really doing well, and according to my battery monitor widget, its draining 50+-ma every 5 min(idle), back then when idle, its only draining 5ma

any idea what could have went wrong?

like they said in XDA, don flash the current JVR, u might turn ur phone into a Transformer

coz they found out something fishy with the files of JVR. even Ramad thought so and wouldn't deodexed it since it's an incomplete version
