Yup i agree on this one, i seldom use Wifi and only use it when i go overseas, last week when i was overseas, thats when i notice the Wifi on JVP is quite bad, even when i was on Froyo(JPA/JPE) and GB (JVH), so JVP modem is one of the worse i've experienced so far, even theGPS seems slower than my previous JVH. will try out JVQ soon then.

im also on JVP and i feel the WIFI not as good as previous and some people posted that JVQ WIFI and GPS improve after upgrading to JVQ. will most likely upgrade this weekend

Basically, everyone buys something for their own personal reason. When i buy a phone i look at the hardware specs, i chose SGS because of the screen, i read a lot so i appreciate the SGS Screen Size, plus when i travel i can watch videos either through the phone or via TV OUT (no need to bring a lap top). Most people get an Iphone and rightfully so because Iphone is very easy to use and hardly give any problems.

But you're also right that Apple have good branding and they have done so with very good Marketing (Americans are damn good at it thats why they are good at bullshitting about Weapons Of Mass Destruction). Most people have been brainwashed by the media for a long time. The media through its ads convince people to buy and consume, they psychologically brainwash us into thinking that after we buy a certain Product, we feel good about ourselves and we show this off to our friends to boost our ego. However i feel the feel good only lasts a while before we're back to reality.

Its really sad to see there are bags/watches sold nowadays that costs more than a car. People buy it because it gives them status and IMage. This IMage thing is quite sick actually. Meanwhile 35,000 children dies of poverty everyday, half of the population of this planet live on RM10/day.

Sorry if this is off topic, just want everyone here to think about all these and be grateful for what we have. Im really sick to hear about people buying something just for image or status. Please dont be influenced by the media. We need to snap out of it and realise what i coming soon : the biggest depression the world has ever seen. What that have been enabling us to buy this and that all this while is nothing but debt debt debt. Money in reality, is nothing but debt.

Think it shouldnt be any prob, contacts and sms should be fine only maybe certain apps u might have prob. have you upgraded to SGS2? im thinking of it but i feel the price will drop in a month or 2.

I havent posted in a long long time but have been following it once in a while but it has been super slow lately, never seen it this slow before. furthermore, since the last release of 2.3.4 (JVP & JVQ), samfirmware have been extremely quiet. they should at release 2.3.4 for Asia with slight improvement. i guess most of the attention now is on SGS2

anyone here tried the new JVR ROM yet? is the file downloaded from link in samfirmware legit? its weird they still dont have 2.3.4 for Asia

Thanks for the link, Ken, still not many people give feedback there maybe cos the rom is still new but those that feedback mentioned that the rom has very fast response better than previous version but i think i'll wait for a week before flashing, the last time they released JVP which i flashed, 1 week later they released JVQ!!! maybe next week got JVS.....haha

mine have been naked since day 1, which is now more than a year, the reason i didnt want a screen protector was so i can get a clear view of the screen. after a year, the phone still looks good, probably a small scratch on the screen and some minor scratches on the casing but other than that, phone still looks great. furthermore, i've dropped the phone so many times and did not face any issues, i have to say Samsung phones are built pretty tough. now im thinking of either upgrading to SGS2 or keep this SGS and get a Galaxy Tab. the reason im thinking of a Tab is cos its very handy when i travel and need to use the wifi. can anyone confirm will i have better wifi signal on a tab compared to a phone?

i think u have better luck in xda forum than here cos very few ppl use vibrant in m'sia.
