Hi guys,

I have some questions when preparing my luggage.
1)How is the on-campus kitchen? Can I cook maggie or dishes there? Got Oven and Kettle?
2)I plan to sn*ak a portable fan and kettle in, is't hard? I mean 'one eye open one eye closed' about this.
3)Swimming pool is still available on public holiday (16th) ?
4)How to go Sunway pyramid from campus by public transportation? Take how long approximately?

Thank you for helping~
Can't wait to go there next Sat !!!  rclxm9.gif

Sorry for broken English and stupid questions....
*
1. Enough for maggie and simple dishes. Got microwave and fridge. I think there's a kettle as well but not sure if you dare to use those or not.
2. It's not too hard I suppose, as long as when you first moved in, you don't let them see can already. Every time you ask them to clean room for you, just keep them in the wardrobe and it's fine.
3. Not sure about that, never use it. LOL!
4. public transport? That's seriously tough to reach Sunway Pyramid. MidValley and KLCC should be the easiest shopping malls to reach via public transport this way.

On the day of registration, I need to pay my full tuition fees for a semester, right? (I'm in foundation), and as far as I know I can pay with bank draft, but the problem is I can't buy a bank draft in Ringgit here in Indonesia T__T, what to do?

EDIT: There are a few international banks here, I tried to look in their websites. BII-Maybank doesn't provide bank draft in ringgit, neither do CIMB Niaga, can't find any info on OCBC NISP and HSBC rclxub.gif

EDIT2: Is the airport pickup required for every international student? I mean, I can just take a ferry to JB and take a bus to KL then take a taxi to the school, there's no plane from my place to KLIA/LCCT, and the closest solution to taking a plane is for me to take a ferry to Singapore then take a plane to KLIA (which is very expensive). If I don't use the airport pickup, what do I have to do after I've arrived there? (I live off-campus by the way), my student visa is not yet done, but when I visit the visa office they said that I can go in with a tourist visa and just submit my passport and they'll process it for me. After I've arrived there do I need to register with someone or something?

I believe a lot of these questions could be answered by the admission. Try to call them for quicker responses since it's close to the date already.

If bank draft in MYR is not possible for you at the moment, maybe you can consider paying via credit cards? I think CIMB or Maybank in Indonesia should be able to work something out. Ask them if you could get a bank draft in Malaysia in MYR even though your account is opened in Indonesia.

If airport is not convenient, I think you can always find a way to reach Nottingham yourself - it can't be required for every international students considering students from Singapore would not opt for air travel as well. I am not sure if it's possible, but a ferry to Klang (if that's available) would be more viable as it's nearer to the university. You'll probably need to find a way from Klang to go to KL Sentral. From there on, you can go anywhere including Nottingham (probably a mix of train and taxi, of just taxi if you just want to reduce the hassle).

As for visa, I think you will need to go to the Indonesian embassy some time when you are here. There's a visa office in Nottingham that should be able to provide you with the information and service you want.

This thread is moving quicker than I thought now! LOL!
As for V5, I think jacktay94 expressed very strong interests last time I asked - if you have any suggestions on the first page for V5 you can PM him.

EDIT: Time to step down I suppose!

ASK: I have to pay RM500 in bank draft for my student visa. I'll be going there this Friday (probably I'll arrive to my accommodation around 4-5pm), can I directly go to a bank and buy a bank draft? AFAIK if I don't go to the bank on Friday, it will be closed on Saturday until Monday right? If I go to the bank on Tuesday (open bank account and buy bank draft), will I make it on time? Because I need the RM500 bank draft for the registration.
Confused @@

If your accommodation can wait, you better get the bank draft first. Opening bank account takes some time unless you get to be the 1st one to do it in the morning (even then, it still takes some time). I wonder if they accept cash for registration?

Less than 40 posts for V5. Can't believe this is happening already!

Suggest everybody to join the facebook group, from there on can plan gathering better. I am interested to join the gathering with all the new members around, just let me know the time and place (Semenyih also never mind) - I'll try to make it!

Next TS take note. Try to save a copy of those important posts (by quoting the reply, but don't reply, just copy the text out - which will include the formatting as well) that you want to put in in next version of thread. You cannot 'quote' post anymore when this thread is closed. Even if I don't close (not sure if I can open back after I close myself), mod will close also. Last version we kena, and I have to PM mod to help me out.
