Hi All,

I got a Motorbike & want to transfer the Ownership to someone I know.
What do I need to do ?
Can someone guide me the
Procedure, Forms, Department to visit, Documents needed,
do both Old & New Owner compulsory to go to Office do the things ?

Can a Runner do all these things without the Old & New Owner present to JPJ Office ?

Thanks.

If you want to save on hassle, u can go to any motorbike shop near your area, just bring along the grant and insurance forms, and ur IC. They will need to fotostat your IC, and ask u to sign 2-3 forms, that's all. The rest their runner will gaotim. My place they charge less than 100 for everything(bike still has roadtax+insurance).

hi.
bring along ur grant,photocopy ic,insurans..
then go to nearest jpj..
ask them which form u need to fill up to change the ownership.

then fill the form, paste the ur and him(ur fren) ic inside the form.
bring along ur fren..easy to sign and no need to buy stamp commissioner of oath.(cost u rm5)..

after that take number,and wait..
then go to counter pay rm3 only..

done..

I've been reading about this i don't think you need a license for the transfer.

Just wondering, are we able to transfer insuranace which is still valid?

for example, I own Motorcycle A. Then I sell Motorcycle A (insurance still valid). Then I buy Motorcycle B, Can I trnasfer the insurance from Motorcycle A to Motorcycle B?

Hi, if no one has answered:

The short answer is no.

Ownership does not require insurance.
So if you change the ownership without insurance, the road tax is immediately "dibatalkan".

if the vehicle is at JPJ, technically its not legal to be driven out since the road tax is invalid.

So...may as well do the insurance.

Right outside JPJ there are usually 5-10 insurance offices.
