Hi, all sifus and gurus, or anyone that already have this monitor on the 3D experience. I want to know how's the experience? Does it it need extra peripheral like Nvidia 3D Vision kit to really experience 3D gaming? the thing is this monitor is for my soon-to-be newly built system which consist of ATi HD6850 so those Nvidia kit is out of the question already.

From the features and specification I read here, seems that I don't even need those kit;

There's not much of LCD/LED that support the 3D experience by Ati. And I wonder if software like IZ3D can help with the issues.

no need..i also waiting to get this lor ..the 3D experience everything was inside the monitor just press the 3D button on the monitor and wear the 3d glass by samsung will do

so far everything is perfect la just if connect ps3 or blu ray need to find a source for audio...the monitor dont have built in speaker...but hor i saw another thread ealier samsung alrdy collect back the model as got defect..i will buy next month lor then get a speaker direct connect to ps3
price i havent go samsung check but i think is around 1.5k

Liked the thin bezel or no bezel at all, monitors should be more like this for Eyefinity purpose

hi ts..i just get my 3d monitor samsung sa950...the monitor itself did have a function which turn 2D to 3D...and the package did come with a 3D glasses...but unfortunately..it doesnt work with nvdia 3d vision kit.

what i did experience is : i tried crysis 2 ..i get in the game and turn the 3d function on ..but nvdia kit does not support..in order to play crysis 2 in 3D mode...u have to turn off the 3D vision in the game itself...and manually turn ur monitor from 2D to 3D...u have to download an application..which allows u to support most of the latest 3D vision game...launch the game with that applcation and u r able to use the samsung 3D glasses to play in 3D...

i can say the experience is awesome..no difference if u compare to those demostration 3D sony bravia TV in shopping mall. is the same.

to play with nvdia 3d vision kit..u have to manually switch on the 3D vision from ur driver control panel..then only can support ur nvdia 3D vision...but once it on...ur samsung 3D glasses may not support at the same time

O yeah, finally. Hands-on from the user experience.

By the way, I'm not planning on buy/use the Nvidia 3D Vision Kit since I'm gonna buy an Ati GC. What is the name of application that you mentioned? Is it iz3D? because that's the only good 3D software application I've found on the net.

nop...is TriDef 3D...the application is provided by samsung...bcoz the app is compatible with the samsung 3D glasses...so have to use that app in order to turn ur game in 3D mode even it doesn't support 3D...

yup i did try some normal blu-ray movie play in 3D mode as well as 3D blu-ray movie ( for my example SAW : the final chapter 3D ) . i using Cyberlink PowerDVD 11 which allows u to turn movie in 3D mode..i watch transformer 2 with powerDVD and turn it with 3D mode on. although the movie doesnt support 3D originally but it can be done by manually setting up the monitor in 3D mode..and turn ur movie in 3D in ur player setting and .. u can watch it in 3D mode..but not as 3D as those movies which really support 3D....

for real 3D movie ( Saw : The final chapter 3D ). it provide 2 movie mode..1 is normal theatrical version which is can been watch in most of the LCD / LED / watsoever display screen. another 1 is 3D mode which only apply in monitor which support 3D ..and the result is just awesome..

for the defect part i do not sure about that ...so far i've been using around 2 weeks + and i have no regret of buying this. 23' and 27' samsung 3D led monitor basically the function all is the same ..only the size of the screen different.

1 more thing is that. if u are using ATI card...i believe the gc pair with this monitor is greater than nvdia card ..why i said so? because the app does allow ur monitor to turn into 3D in 2 ways - frame sequential and side-by-side.

as i know frame sequential will has more advantage and great experience in watching blu-ray movie ...not sure how does it works but u can google it

crysis 2 did support..been tried to use the samsung 3D function to turn crysis 2 into 3D...make no difference with the 3D vision which come with the game itself. the tridef can adjust the lots of 3D stuffs in game...

then i will go to lowyat plaza pay a visit...

can output til 5.1 using digital out (optical) connector....so can use this monitor and then with additional 2.1 or 5.1 audio system is possible

i watch youtube..review when u turn the 3d mode to 2D->3D all your desktop instant become 3D even anime 3D is possible...but of coz if the content is meant to be 3D will be really good...this sat i will go lowyat pay a visit and may get on the spot

dun think lowyat got stock now.yesterday i just went there ..didnt found any 27'inch 3D LED monitor...i bought from PJ digital mall ALL IT ..u can go there and have a look..both 23inch and 27inch available

yes as i said earlier d 3d experience got no diff compare to those sony bravia 3d led tv..the only difference is that those 3d tv has 3d transmitter..which makes the movie looks more smoothly ..been using 27' at the moment and the monitor is just great..1 thing i wan to find out is tat...this monitor seems a little bit smaller compare to samsung p2770h...i own samsung p2770h and i did take both of them to compare...not sure whether my eye problem or wat...i found tat p2770h is slightly bigger than sa950...but anyway..both of the monitor are different level..worth it.

digital mall selling rm 1899. but can ask for best price. best price they gave me is rm 1750. this is for 27inch. for 23inch is rm 1299.

no not at all. if ur graphic card support large resolution fps game then should b ok..otherwise just maintain same resolution as u r using now. its fine playing in 27" monitor.

my advise is just dun simply turn everything into 3d for those movies/games which does not support 3d originally. it might damage ur eye if long use.

i think over and i think i will get 23" this sat will go lowyat plaza hopefully can find it....else i will walk walk around for the speaker system...still havent found one that can connect ps3 and pc sametime

I am thinking of selling of this monitor after 1 day using it. TBH, the flickering effect really make me dizzy. I am willing to sell it at RM1300 with 1 year warranty from PCdepot and 3 years warranty from Samsung, In case any of you who interested to buy this monitor and stay in penang, do let me know. TY.

but this monitor got output audio? (3.5mm port)

for example, let say i connect hdmi from ps3, it carries both audio and video. SO if this monitor can seperate the audio from hdmi and output it, den i can connect it to my speaker.

yes it does has a 3.5mm headphone jack...my review didnt test it out for ps3 output as i use multi av connect ps3 with the 2.1 speaker....if u wan to know this weekend i can test for you...

this monitor only got 1 3.5mm jack can insert any speaker or headphone,earphone...u can watch my review up there..but 1 thing i worry is ..ps3 may not work with the 3.5mm audio output..as we need to do configuration for ps3 for audio out....maybe this weekend i go new house test it out and make another review

i just settings both audio n video out from ps3 as hdmi
den connect the hdmi to my monitor
den connect the audio output from my monitor to my speaker
tats it

yup...but for better sound quality just connect ps3 directly to speaker

may i know how well is this monitor when i use it as normal monitor?
is it 100% just same like normal led monitor when the 3D is turned off?

yup..more like 100% led full HD monitor without 3D on..but once u on 2D to 3D the whole desktop will become 3D and u can surf here with 3D mode...lol

becoz i think the nvidia 1 is much more expensive like RM600? while the samsung 1 is free (included w monitor)

actually for nvdia 3dvision kit and samsung 3d glasses make no difference..mayb there r difference but very minor...coz my eyes not even can notice where is the difference...i bought the nvdia 3d vision b4 i buy this sa950 monitor...after it release then only know it comes with 3d glasses....i did tried both of the glasses...nvdia 3d vision glasses abit small compare to samsung 3d glasses..if u have a big head then samsung that 1 might suits u =)

maybe because they didnt peel off the screen protector?

the screen protector if u stick on it definitely u cant feel any 3D graphics from the screen.

errrrr no idea..anyway the 3D glasses battery wont last whole day...i prefer only watch movie or game then 3D la...enjoy a bit..the rest just 2D..i dont see any problem...

im the 1 who wearing spectacle..i just wear the 3d glasses with my spec on..no problem..although looks ugly but who cares? u r playing in ur own room. no 1 cares how u dress / wear

so far dun hve any experience feeling dizzy ..but mostly i use for 1 hour. not much..coz not really use to play 3d in games..mostly r use for movie..havent try watch 3d movie more than an hour yet. but its really depends..some people are really comfortable with 3d grahpic..some might feel dizzy after facing the 3d graphic for a certain time frame...this 1 really subjective...but i think as long as u keep a certain distance from monitor i dun think this will happen

sure recommended HDMI cable ..the LED comes with HD ability..if watching bluray still using DVI..then no point for having a HD monitor + 3D

PC 3D Gaming? Then u would need to use the DVI since HDMI 1.4a is limited to 1280x720 @ 60Hz unless u willing to play your games at 1920x1080 @ 24Hz. With DL-DVI ur still able to game at 1920x1080 @ 60Hz.

ok before proceed on purchasing, heres the thing.. i alrady got my pc with bluray disc reader.. can watch bluray dics from this device no prob. so in order to play 3d , do i need a 3d bluray player? i know ps3 can do that.. but what if i want 3d bluray payback direct from me pc?

huh ? u dun need a 3d bluray player ..either u use cyberlink powerdvd v10 and above..the player it self provides u to switch the movie from 2d to 3d...or u can switch the monitor manually to turn ur 2d movie into 3d...no need any external player nor device in order to run a 3d on this monitor.

my pc is too low end to play 3D blu ray movie.....if upgrade pc, graphics card, BD-ROM and bla bla bla......will cost me another 1 to 2k.....

that is why need to purchase 3D Blu ray standalone player ....but again, price always is a factor......

Normal Blu ray player is around RM3xx, but 3D Blu Ray player cost RM6xx......the price for 3D is doubled ....really crazy....

true also..that y i never use a pc as full HD or 3D enjoyment...i let ps3 do it all...PC just use as normal monitor lor....

PS: i alrdy record another video about the 3.5mm jack with ps3 connection...stay tunes...lazy to edit and upload >.<

the glassess canot be charge n need replacement batt just like a watch , so how much is a 2025 type batt? i tot i read in hear batt wont last a day?
