QUOTE(HarrionX @ Jul 11 2011, 10:57 AM) I do not care enuf to use stylus but here some insight from benny888QUOTE(benny888 @ Jun 30 2011, 10:50 AM) Your finger is better than even the best stylus eg I finger good quality expensive about rm120. But still loses out to own finger. You want to buy cheap don't bother just waste money I have bought several type pen stylus from rm 30 to rm120 all waste money only. Nothing beats the natural response of own fingers |

QUOTE(NeWsauCE @ Jul 11 2011, 01:08 PM) Custom roms are cooked up according to the taste of the creator. Usually it is more bloated but that is not always the case. You have to read the description of the rom to know more about that. They have the same base so to say which one is smoother or if one is smoother than other you have to personally test it out or ask around the users. If you ask me then I would say that custom roms which are heavily customized may prove to be more buggy than the stock. But please do keep in mind sometimes its the exact opposite. It depends from rom to rom so the only way to know which one is smooth just try it out. Its not that hard to have custom rom running on your tab, it takes less than 30 minutes, and then if you don't like it just revert back to your stock. +1 but then like me... I like stock... as hates on bugs.... |

QUOTE(HarrionX @ Jul 11 2011, 07:34 PM) No doubt our fingers are better. I don't own flyer.... but i thought flyer much better for this kind of task.... But i need to draw things at my Iconia =D (work issue. not entertainment) sketching is quite important~ thus finger enough wouldn't do the trick at its best |

QUOTE(gl7 @ Jul 12 2011, 03:39 AM) new OTA update 4.010.30, update from Acer_A500_4.010.22_COM_GEN1. Much smoother for me, since i never wipe apps or factory reset since day 1 with all updates install continuously. I believe this due to 4.010.22 is an official rom but for other region.... as long as its official rom you will still receive ota even though manually updates.FYI, the .22 was downloaded from XDA. Meaning manual update does not broke the OTA updates (yet) which mostd/afraid. Added on July 12, 2011, 11:26 amwhat keyboard (not external) you guys/gals using currently? Any suggestion... cuz I saw this.... looks good... any experience?? Thumb Keyboard Added on July 12, 2011, 11:30 amAnybody has use this keyboard from logitech?? QUOTE(gl7 @ Jul 12 2011, 08:45 PM) true. another similar keyboard like thumb keyboard.... named tablet keyboardAlso using Thumb keyboard now, 3 layouts also. Used Hacker Keyboard b4, but its become lag. The arrow keys is the main reason to choose my keyboard, still too difficult to put the cursor exactly the place in a sentence/word. |

QUOTE(morning06 @ Jul 20 2011, 03:24 PM) Hello, I am currently considering on A500 or Transformer. Have read thru some reviews but still have some questions. Would appreciate it if anyone can help out. Both can do the tasks mentioned... FYI, only simple excels formula available in tab.The main purpose is for business presentation use. Mainly using Microsoft Excels. Wifi surfing, checking mails, reading ebooks and some games and musics. And will either be possible to run flash software (which require installation)? Thank you for reading and helping. Appreciate all the feedback. flash software do you mean thorugh browser or dedicated flash player? ICONIA - can plug-in external hdd / thumbdrive. Transformer - need docking |

QUOTE(calvin_ng @ Jul 21 2011, 05:01 PM) the no sound issue if the audio codec in ac3... try convert/remux to aac....Added on July 21, 2011, 5:33 pm QUOTE(benny888 @ Jul 21 2011, 05:31 PM) Actually no major issues unlike the Transformer - you pop over there and read ; they have so much problems especially with the dock. Most of the major issues I do not find it in the Iconia so basically transformer w/o dock = no issue... the issue lies at the dock? This post has been edited by exkaizen: Jul 21 2011, 05:33 PM |

QUOTE(RayKazansky @ Jul 22 2011, 08:20 AM) what's yur expectation for ur tabs?if screen - choose Transformers if full size USB port - ICONIA (as its on tablet; transformers have the port but on the dock)**ICONIA can plug in 2.5" external HDD & USB thumbdrive** if internal storage size - ICONIA (32GB) if need docking - Transformers (but heard they have problem) but benny888 mention Transformers have more major problem (especially on the dock) then ICONIA. So suggest u go through transformers thread and get to knoe what is the major problem they are facing (whether it affect your expectation specs)... as far as ICONIA, they don't have major problem hence the thread quite dull... T.T fyi, previously ICONIA have update issue which is sometime not able to updates but there's solution for it... as for custom roms for ICONIA, there are 6/7 custom roms you can choose besides the stock rom This post has been edited by exkaizen: Jul 22 2011, 09:46 AM |

QUOTE(RayKazansky @ Jul 22 2011, 04:24 PM) Tested HTC Flyer, XOOM 3G, & Iconia A500 just now. thats y... not many ppl update that they have issue for iconia.... the downside of iconia is the screen only... but still decentFlyer lagging the most, followed by XOOM. Surprisingly, Zoom's browser hanged(had to force close), but Iconia... much much smoother a lot than Xoom!!! Both Iconia and Xoom running on 3.0 only. Acer's doing great! One more thing... if there is no display, I could see dots on the screen on Iconia, but not on Xoom. Different capacitive tech? |

I found the best player that able to play MKV... DICEPLAYER
pros of DICEPLAYER: - able to play smooth 720P mkv movie without remux (haven't test with 1080p) - able to show embedded subs in mkv (haven't test external subs) - able to play AC3 sound codec when play - use hardware acceleration Added on August 14, 2011, 6:10 amHow dice player can read other storage/microsd card from the player without using file manager? go to setting > list setting > media folder -> set as /mnt This post has been edited by exkaizen: Aug 14 2011, 06:33 AM |
