Depends on what you are using for. Different ND ratings for different lighting conditions. The variable NDs are great because they normally cover from ND2 up to ND400, so no need to pack several filters. If you're getting a screw-in filter, go for the variable ones for flexibility. One thing to avoid for ND screw in filters are ND grads, where it goes from dark to light. ND Grads you should get a slot-in system like Cokin. This way, you can adjust where you want the gradation to fall off, instead of being stuck in place by the screw-in.

Taking slow shutter during daytime will need a lot of experimentation to find out how many stops you need, but once you're experienced you can calculate the exposure in your head!

that CZ lens will cost more than the Nex-7 body and the body alone is already expensive so total that up, and you will get a lot of non-buyers. They should just sell the Nex-7 body alone with no kit lens. If not you will end up like this again -

Nex-7 + SEL16F28 + SEL1855 sweat.gif

I'm sure the NEX7 could make an interesting toy when coupled with the Zeiss but as the only camera, I don't think my level of zen (also a lot of people) is high enough to just live with only a 24mm lor.

There is a E-mount converter to A-mount, so you can buy A-mount and attach it to the Nex.

Not sure its work for Nex7 but it works for Nex5N~"

CZ 24mm is 36mm (35mm standard)... quite ok range. Natural eye-level range.

Hi guys. I am interested to get hybrid/mirrorless camera but Google around does not get me information that I need. Last week I went to Sony Center and tried NEX-3 and NEX-5. But I still have some questions in my mind that I need clarification:

1. Is NEX is the smallest in size compared to other hybrid/mirrorless cameras in the market?
2. Is there any underwater case for NEX?
3. How is the picture quality? I owned a Sony a550, is it comparable?
4. How is the shooting experience, is it as good as DSLR, allow you to adjust settings such as ISO, aperture and etc?
5. How about taking picture at night, is the bundled flash good enough?

Appreciate if you guys could help me clarify questions above.

1. Well, smallest? Doubt it. I daresay there is smaller ones but Nex has an Aps-C size sensor.

2. Not sure. But a quick google should be enlightening. From google, it is said that there is underwater casings, but the pricing is uncertain.

3. Nex 5 should be similar to A550 if not, slightly better.

4. Yea, you can adjust most perimeters.

5. Bundled flash is quite.. erm.. Well, insufficient~" Sony Nex 7 might come with a sony mount to fit a F43 though lol~"

Yes... but only if zen level is there. I tried running around europe with just a 30mm. Got some nice shots and missed a lot of shot.

I am looking for NEX-3. With its price tag around RM1600, NEX-3 should be the best choice for its category, is it?
