maybe the three pin point plug is not grounded properly. does this happen if it's connected to usb only?

maybe you can try with another usb to 3 pin point plug to see if the plug or ipad is faulty.

or easier still, just sent the ipad to the store.

Never. I have experienced this though when i sometimes plug in my iphone to my old ibook G4. Was never really bothered by it whenever it happens though, and might be unrelated to ts. I always charge my iPad using power outlets and have never experienced this.

Yup... When my touch the back of my ipad while it's charging can feel like vibrating\buzzing... If you touch the ipad with your hand and put your leg down to touch the floor, the leg will feel the buzzing too, feels like there's electric grounding to the floor. I'm suspecting the earth/grounding for the outlet is not good.

I believe this is normal for aluminum based Apple products. I feel the vibrating static on my MacBook as well. As for the iPad, I've felt it before I put it into a case. The iPhone would give me some minor shocks when it charges through a wall socket lol. Either you're sensitive to electricity or Apple's products somehow do not handle electricity very well.

My iPad is permanently in a folio case so I don't touch it directly. But even when I use it while it's charging, didn't feel any vibration or static. Maybe you should try another power outlet, or try another charger (if you have one), and just bring it to a store to ask the staff there.

no, it's not normal. it's downright dangerous not to have it grounded properly just because it is made out of aluminium. items like electric lettle has to be really grounded, else you're screwed.

either you test it out to see if it is your wall plug problem or it is your device problem.

I believe it's normal for me since I'm quite sensitive to electricity.. I feel mild static vibration since young whereby most people can't feel it. So I guess I'm used to it ahah.. but it seems that the Apple products I have, most of them have the same effects.. though it seems they conduct more due to the aluminum uni-body and so..

It's not the wall socket that's for sure.. because I get the same effects from all different types of wall sockets.

Edit: I've checked with some friends, it seems to be device specific for Apple products.. some of them said, they can get shocked using the iPhone while charging.. especially on the metalized sides..

The charger itself doesn't have a ground/earth... It only got connected to live and neutral.
