Remember Nexus is always about being Google, not just specs tongue.gif

SGS 3 of course will be better in specs but not (always) in software biggrin.gif
You can't go there?

I had change my mind, eyeing to Nexus now. waiting for November. another 1 week+
want to know which country manage to release first. hopefully not that expensive; hopefully the range like SoyaCincau estimated

Yes, nothing special to me imo only the data2sd was different that's it. UI wise feels very boring.

Non G spec.

Anyway for those who are wondering. Below is the difference.

I9100G

Doesn’t overheat easily, better battery life.
CPU seems to be capped at 1008 MHz.
Poorer 3D performance.
Can’t download apps / games developed for Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 in Samsung Apps / Android Market.
Fonts in PAPAGO! very small.
Not much custom firmware / modification
I9100

Overheat easily, poor battery life on Android 2.3.3. Android 2.3.5 fixed it.
Fully use 1.2 GHz CPU.
Better 3D performance.
Anti-Aliasing (4xAA and 16xAA) support with Chainfire3D Pro.
Lot of custom firmware, kernel, modification, tweaks…
**In simple words the NON G spec is better
*
right, that's the different. that's why samsung reduce RM300. where u bought ur non-G set?

sourced it out from mudah. RM1450 non G set. Extended 2 years warranty. 1 year from SME + 2 years from Seng Heng. wink.gif

Previous owner used it only for 1 week yet. Hahhaa

Got free 4-5 casing as well with the phone + anti finger print screen protector.
*
how to verify it's is non-G from only the phone?

Guys
i've tried CM7 rom, and now wanted to try MIUI since I see most desire owner here in on Miui and the reviews are great. And of course because it looks nicer than CM7 biggrin.gif

have few questions about MIUI,
1)what is the different between MIUI XJ rom and the ones at MIUIandroid.com website. which has ROM for Desire ver1.10.28

2)is it true camera app won't take video in 720p in MIUI?
*
tested MIUI stock video cam app, in resolution 720 x 480, the playback are smooth. 15 seconds length for 3.6 MB in mp4 format. I'm satisfied.

which MIUI to download?
official recognized international language translate partners:
1. www.miui.us
2. www.miuiandroid.com
3. www.miui-au.com

miui.us & miuiandroid is big community players, a lot of phone model support.
miui-au is earlier player start in MIUI since second release of MIUI in September 2010.

every site have own unique feature and different. depend on what you need.

I wonder when ICS roms will be available for our phones..
*
for official, I guess no hope from HTC.
N1 already announced no ICS support. Desire, no news.....

for custom rom, MIUI Xiaomi Phone Will Update To Ice Cream Sandwich In January. Hopefully MIUI also port for rest of MIUI support official phone. wait and see....

guys,
i notice that cell standby is consuming far too much juice than normal. Is is something to do with kernels or radio? or maybe the ROM is unstable?
FYI, I flashed to MIUI-AU and follow all the steps at the website.

should I re-flashed? phone was 100% charged at 7am, now left 56%. I hardly surf, or make calls today. Only check twitter around 5mins every hour on 3G. According to battery usage:
1. Cell standby 38%
2. Display 16%
3. Phone idle 12%
4. System 10%
and followed by others apps around 3-5%

anyone have experience with this? appreciate your advice.

thanks
*
mine as below:
1. Display 23%
2. Android System 15%
3. Cell standby 11%
4. Phone idle 9%

did you use SetCPU to set some rule to save juice?

so i've installed setCPU app yesterday, but a bit confused how to use it.
I'm reffering to bro hezril's settings here

main profile : smartass 245/998
screen off : smartass 245/245
batt < 21% : smartass 245/576
temp > 37.1c : smartass 245/576
charging : smartass 245/576

i don't see any smartass settings in the app. what should i set for the scaling?
*
the scaling policy is depend on which kernel used. different kernel will have different scaling option.
I'll suggest to choose the closest scaling to replace smartass is powersave.

anyway i can make it back as long as it function as phone???
*
that's only way as mentioned.
u need to tell us, which rom u reflash? successfully complete flash or failed?
full wipe is very important point, need to make sure its completely done too.

else, if this is mb issue. then only rma.

about official update to GB with RUU. Hboot version will change to 1.02.0000.

please read here: http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/revolutionary
according to Supported Devices doc above, http://revolutionary.io/ stated:
both HTC Desire (bravo) 0.93.0001, 1.02.0001 are currently support.

but I never try that before, cannot guarantee anything.

never rely on official update as promise, so usually don't put a high hope on that else disappointed much...
but good news for custom rom, CM & MIUI are working on ICS rclxm9.gif

ok, we all know that Android version older than 2.3.3 is vulnerable to various threats due to unsecure connection. this company so called Bit9 list down US old top android smart phone from Q2:
1. Samsung Galaxy Mini
2. HTC Desire
3. Sony Ericson Xperia X10
4. Sanya Zio
5. HTC Wildfire
6. Samsung Epic 4G
7. LG Optimus S
8. Samsung Galaxy S
9. Motorola Droid X
10. LG Optimus One
11. Motorola Droid 2
12. HTC Evo 4G

Bit9 point out that 56 percent of phone running Android older than 2.3.3. Bias chart title!!! suppose should be called "NOT-SO-SMART DUMP Americans". since device makers so slow on update OS, then flash yourself or just pay for 3rd party service for custom rom, so difficult?

Bottom of photo show side-by-side comparison with iOS and Android; telling you that 90% of fruit phone user are smart enough while half of Android user is not smart? Bit9 also suggest Google should enforce the OS update via bypass the device makers.
