yes, it's correct. only 1 version and it's flexible. the default setting is PC-AD2D. after your first boot, go to setting. there is option to select app2sd or data2sd. select data2sd if you prefer it, after reboot, the app2sd will change to data2sd. simple, no confuse with various version link to download.

if you're using CMr2 HBOOT, you can use also XJ add-on for small 5MB cache solution.
I never try data2sd, always using MIUI_Au exclusive script which is PC-A2SD. it's never give me trouble on space concern. just install facebook app or friendcaster, it's always have option to sync contact and friendcaster also can can import the fb contact's photo, else can use SyncMyPic.

this is exactly I encountered before; not only 1 time but I facing it many many times before. usually randomly happen after partition sd or flash something although already fixed before from modaco tutorial. But no worry, I always save the modaco USB fix zip in my SD card, just apply whenever it's happen, very simple.

cut it short for you:
Prepare:
1. Download modaco USB fix zip file.
2. suggest download stable ROM (such as LeeDroid), the best take A2SD version. (I know, there is Data++ version)

Steps:
1. make sure you have stable recovery in working condition (Amon-RA, CWM or 4EXTrecovery are fine)
2. full wipe, or wipe everything.
3. check is your SD card accessible or not? else apply the fastboot command mentioned before. Sure work.
4. For A2SD ROM; partition your SD card in recovery recommended for newbie, partition via PC for expert.
5. after partition done, copy modaco USB fix zip file, ROM into SD card.
6. flash modaco USB fix, then flash the ROM. after complete, flash again modaco USB fix to ensure.
7. lastly only reboot.

please post ur question here if you're not sure how to setup ADB or how to use fastboot. or any other question. everyone here are willing to help.

there is few solution suggest in xda.
btw, you haven't tell us you are using stock or custom rom.
some might be rom bug with Contact issue intermittent.

If without root, workaround are limited.
backup everything as you can, factory restore/reset.

how about miui-au? Beside rom design, Generally, I'll say you only can choose either between more storage or better performance. Whether you choose the dalvik cache in internal storage or ext-sd.

As we can see your tested both rom also only laggy after a while. phone limitation.

I din personal try both to compare, but heard that 7.7 is the damm smooth, better than all other size of Samsung Galaxy Tabs; in term of the UI very smooth. DiGi now pre-order. nowadays all trending in high resolution display. the most obvious different from 7.0+ to 7.7 = 1280x800
