I just bought a Viera P42U30K FHD Plasma today. When i get back home, i switched it on and there a obvious marks on my tv, like numbers, date, and some picture...its like a burn in but i havent used my tv yet..and one more thing, if i turn on the menu and use it for a couple of seconds..it also leaves a mark...It leaves a very bad marks..

What happened to my tv..is my tv defective??

Can u confirm that it is a new set and not a demo unit? U can check in service menu but if u r not careful and do not know how to do it, get someone who knows how.

Pls change ur mode from dynamic mode and select cinema mode or true cinema mode. Reduce contrast temporarily to below 30 for a start.

I would suggest for a start, google evangelo's break in slides and run them for a bit and see if the IR reduces.

I have played with the 2011 panasonics (VT series) and found that the IR is much much better than last years sets, so I am not sure why u r seeing this. If u r based in the northern region, PM and I can see if I can help u.

Hi, I also have the same TV. Been using it close to a month and I haven't experienced any bad IR.

Maybe you have a defective unit. Try calling Panasonic at 0355437600 and get them to check it out. I had a problem with another TV (p42x20k) and they were very quick to resolve it.

Yup, I checked the service menu and there is about 600 minutes of usage..well..ill just go and ask for a new set tomorrow~

Inform the shop you are not satisfied with the new TV's performance. See what they have to say, if nego process with them start, immediately write and call pana HQ.

Just let them know that they gave u a display set and ask them to change it to a brand new set. They normally will change when u r clear abt ur facts.

so today i went to the shop. the tauke wouldnt even listen to what i had to say. he even chased me out of the shop. so i called the police and after a very long discussion the tauke agreed to give back my money. Crazy guy, he didnt even listen to my explanation and said i was picky and such...stupid~

ok, when i first bought the tv and found out it was defective, i went to the shop, and the owner did not want to hear my explanation, so i called to police radiocar and they came to the shop to assist me. So the shop owner said he will return my money in 2 days time. After that, i went to a police station a lodged a report regarding this matter. Then, i went to tribunal pengguna and asked them to call the shop and scare hell outta them, so the next day, when i wanted to collct the money, the owner is still making a fuss and i called the police again. so, when the police came, the tauke ran away from the shop, and the subordinates handled my transaction with peace..i got a full refund.

Its the smaller thye hin opposite of thye hin computer. NEVER GO THERE!! LOL!

oic, this guy is the show owner's son, speaking very rude to customer and seem like dont care about the business.

I also have bad experience with this shop Syarikat Thye Hin Computer (M) Sdn Bhd.

Last time I send my PC to them for repair, they told me this is small issue we can solve it in 3 working days.

3 days later I collect my PC and bring back home. I notice the problem still there, auto shut down. I call them and they told me "Ok you bring back the PC to own shop".

2 days later I go back the shop and collect, bring my PC back home again, SHIT! the problem still haven't solve. I call them again and they ask me to bring back the PC again.

2 days later I go back the shop to collect again and they told me the PC can't repair. And ask me to buy a new one.

Then I dont trust them anymore. I request for refund since the PC problem have not solve. I paid them RM180 for repair. They refuse and if I buy new PC/Laptop they can use off set this amount.

End up I didnt buy with them and my PC repair by my cousin. I paid RM180 for nothing and RM80 for cousin to repair.

Since, sometime in January I go there want to buy LED TV... since I hunting the LG LE5300 (now got Samsung 5 series).

Their price is really good compare to others.. but then, when this is happen.. I am really glad that I don't buy anything from them..

wah...didn't know can check the hours used on Panasonic TV. I also got a LED TV recently. I know it is a display unit because the connection behind have oxidation. I am not really a particular person as long as the TV is working fine I am okay with it. But if the display hour is too long then I will mind cause the longer it runs, the faster it is close to it's MTBF (mean time between failures).

BTW, can your please tell how to check the usage hour? I see in the system information but the numbers all I don't know how to interpret.

this is why i ALWAYS ( cannot stress enuf, AL-freaking-WAYS) ask for new unopen stocks. even if its delivery i want it opened at me house. hasstle ? yes but that the only way i buy something eletrical. of course give em the impression that u are extremely interested on buying so it make em worth to dig out new stock in store or whatever. if no new? theres always other shop to go .bought 4 lcd/led n 1 plasma now. no problems thus far

Wah like that i also wan to share my experience before. This TH last time I wan to buy a LCD, after request the max discount then I told them I will come buy if the price is lowest compare to other,since that time the price still around RM4K,so i need to survey properly.After 1 hour I'm back because their price is the lowest. Then I tell the shop owner Ok i wan to buy the LCD,an unexpected answer 'the LCD sold out' with rude manner. This kind of business man really disappointed me and I wount step in forever.
