Don't dream of RMVB support. Nobody willing to pay royalty fee. I still haven't try using iPad2 dual processor see whether or not it can soft decode smoothly. Tried on Hummingbird really laggy.
Nokia did make a nice move by using Broadcom chip but even that won't support RMVB, only WMV (popular format for xxx). Sadly, the file system limitation require you to download lower bitrate or convert your current media collection. As for Meego, Nokia alone is just not enough. This is not about Nokia or Meego. Even if Nokia don't kill Meego, you don't know if they will be throwing bodies behind the project as well as funds needed to further enhance it. Give it a year and if you ain't seeing much apps for it, then fate sealed. |

QUOTE(nicholasbeh @ Jun 23 2011, 07:38 PM) It's bad. They fix the clicking issue though. If I'm not mistaken, Double tapping zoom now follow iOS style, where the area where you double tap will be zoomed to fit to screen width. Still lag while scrolling if there's pics and videos. Not to mention the same rendering error when viewing LYN forum. I think it crashes a few times when we tried it at the event. Not bad? |

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jun 23 2011, 07:23 PM) MeeGo supports uboot (kinda like GRUB) so it is possible to use 2 OS but I'm very Elop won't agree to that. Perhaps share same user... Judging from the response so far, those who ain't still hoping for a good show from Nokia won't even look at it.Microsoft won't agree to that either. Bill Gates calls open source platform as pest. @Andy214 N9 don't share much of N900 trait but at least be happy it inherited excellent browser. Thank god Nokia didn't bring any Symbian type webkit browser. |

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jun 23 2011, 07:56 PM) Aha... Nokia has Symbian n Meego... its not dead yet... Can U Turn anytime...Seems like Motorola is playing like Samsung. They are going to adopt another platform for their mid tier devices. Also linux based. Everyone seems want to have at least 1 in house OS except for Nokia. |

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jun 23 2011, 08:59 PM) Yeah. Also as I said before Elop already said that Nokia is not going to change the UI.So what you see in the leaked video is what you get as end product. Because Nokia built phone tough like tank...Pretty much same as other manufacturers. So what would compel people to buy Nokia's WP7 device? Maps? Nokia's Maps is good but it's not a major reason to buy Nokia phones. |

Anyway, I think rather than saying only Qualcomm met the stringent specification, it is still using the base ARMv7. I really want to see how DIFFERENT it could be. There are modification that you can do to the product like pipeline length etc but the core of ARMv7 should remain the same.
TELL ME WHAT SO f***ING DIFFERENT THEN!!! SOMEONE IN MS HAS A BIG CHUNK OF SHARES IN QUALCOMM. |

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jun 23 2011, 09:44 PM) You mean like HTC's phones which have "phone" & few other virtual key at bottom of screen? If vol button can take photo, it can also be program to HOME... heheheheEven if you make like that the keys will disappears once you go to menu. How will you go back? Unless someone manage to make the keys permanent in all screen. This will make once heck of ugly UI. |
