I just got my UOB statement and my transactions with my Plat card in Singapore last month earned 5X points. But the conversion rate was 1.5% higher than my MBB Plat MC which earn 2X points.
So let's say 5X with UOB I earn 2.5% rebate. But since MBB 2X points also equivalent to 1% rebate, the difference is 1.5% which is the same as the diff in exchange rate. So conclusion no diff net net. Also I was wondering how come I did not get points for my Coach purchase last month, so called CS and she informed me that since I earned SMART$ cash I don't earn UNIRinggit. But that's ok, since I get 5% SMART$ cash for Coach. This post has been edited by Gen-X: Aug 1 2011, 01:54 PM |

QUOTE(shoduken @ Aug 3 2011, 10:18 PM) Guys, with UOB One, in addition to the petrol 5% back, I get 2% $martcash as well if I pump at BHP? Or I don't? There is some confusion as to the SMART$ cash earned is 1% or 2%. The best way to find out is after you pump petrol at BHP, the SMART$ cash earned will be reflected in the receipt OR you can always ask the BHP counter to check. |

QUOTE(nothingz @ Aug 8 2011, 05:08 PM) i used the normal UOB One, the CS called me after i cancelled it. She said UOB will give rebate on the GST after it is being charged. so far i have not received the latest statement, still cannot confirmed yet like ben83 mentioned, UOB like that, cancel the card then only they offer. Two years back when I asked got offer for GST waiver, the CS said NO, so go cancel my UOB Plat MC at Branch. Then later someone called me to offer some GST waiver, but I said no thanks. But just to let you guys know, last week I called UOB on my normal Plat Visa GST and was told no offers to waived it, so used my points to offset GST. Then over dinner 2 nights ago, I found out that UOB sent a sms to a "PB valued" customer, prior to the card anniversary date, stating that he only needs to swipe ONE time any amount in that month! I did not get that sms for my normal Plat, therefore I guess I am not a valued customer |

QUOTE(MGM @ Aug 9 2011, 01:06 PM) Received similar SMS just a few days before I wanted to cancel my Prefered Platinum card. So with the GST and annual fees waived I decided to keep this card for free access to the Premium Lounge. UOB is rather generous considering that I only swiped twice for the year with total amount of < rm500 that also to waive off previous year's GST and annual fee. And there is a 5 year annual fee waiver without any condition attached. I guess I am not a valued customer |

QUOTE(Sky.Live @ Aug 9 2011, 01:54 PM) From the paper it seems the most worthy card arounds.. looks like not really appealing from the feedback.. you must understand, many people here have more than 1 credit cards (like OCBC TMC and MBB 2) so it doesn't really matter if we get the UOB One Card or not. However, for those who do not earn more than RM30K p.a., this card gives them the opportunity to earn 5% cash back for petrol and groceries. Also many failed to realized that UOB is a Singapore Bank and therefore they kiasu (stringent processing of applications), hahaha. But being kiasu is good too because it makes our deposit with them safe too Once again, click here to read my article on UOB One Card. In this article I have prepared a table comparing the cash back between OCBC Titanium MasterCard vs Maybankard 2 Amex vs Citibank Cash Back vs UOB One Card. |

QUOTE(l3g3nd1314 @ Aug 10 2011, 11:01 AM) I asked the customer service and they said UOB One Card doesn't qualify for any promotion in Singapore next time you go Singapore, if the merchant offering discount to UOB cardholders, just show them your card and you may just be offered the same discount. Last year, at Sommerset 313 they giving cash voucher to UOB card members who spend above certain amount. Well I got the voucher with my Malaysia issued UOB Plat card. This year at the same mall, it was for OCBC card, and once again I got the cash voucher with my Malaysian issued Titanium MasterCard. |

Got a question here on SMART$ cash. I just check out UOB website, there is no mentioned of SMART$ cash for BHP anymore.
The other thing is, UOB Plat and other cards are entitled to 5% SMART$ cash at GSC. So with the UOB One Card, do you still earn 5% SMARTS cash on top of the 5% cash back? |

QUOTE(Frostlord @ Sep 6 2011, 04:35 PM) hi all No difference as far as the % of cash back you'll get. For plat card, you'll need to swipe RM3K per year plus 12 times to get annual fee waived where as normal card only need swipe 12 times.i saw that UOB one card has classic and plat what is the diff between this 2? i check the UOB website but they just mention UOB One Card. Is there difference between the Platinum and Classic cashback %? |

QUOTE(valkyrie5034 @ Sep 13 2011, 04:35 PM) I applied last month and today got a call from UOB. OT 3 months payslip were not enough, they also need EPF/EA statements. When I told her I don't have EPF statement, she said bank statements for the past 3 months will do. go to EPF and get your statement. Some banks branches also provide EPF kiosk where you can print the statement for free BUT most of them lock it as the ink is costly and will tell you the machine is down, hahaha. |

as for buying insurance with credit card, let me tell you this. I bought PA policy thru UOB credit card more than a decade ago. This year decided I may want to cancel the UOB card, so I call the insurer to transfer the premium to another card. the guy gladly took my new card details but within 10 minutes he called me back and say I cannot transfer to premiums to another card since that policy was bought thru UOB!??
