I mean it only took MYTV 4 months (this year) to install transmitter in Sarawak from 3 to current 9.

Previously, it took mytv 3 years to install 3 transmitters........one per year....for Sarawak.

asstro is smiling now,their NJOI can take off now,all they need to do give out free decorders,and its all done!

Currently waiting for full shut down tomorrow based on thestar report previously....:

Those rely on MYTV is low income group.. Those expecting everything free... U think they want to pay rm100? Even rm50 also I'm doubt...

CCTV 4 Asia and CGTN Documentary (before rebranding from CCTV9 Documentary) used to broadcast good stuff, but ever since the Emperor Xi ascended the throne, these two channels somehow become "China is great, right in everything, taiwan is wrong, japan is bad, US is our enemy, the thought of Xi, the 'educational' centre in xinjiang is good, the South China Sea is ours based on 'historical'* record by fisherman, we brought 'development' to Africa, democracy is bad = see all those riots etc"

MYTV did made use of JCSAT 4 to broadcast all the terrestrial channels last time, unsure if it is still broadcasting now.

MYTV in sarawak is also not stable. Amount of transmission towers must be increased.

I gave up with MYTV as signal reception here in Sibu Sarawak is too weak and unsteady. I use satellite and TVbox(but government is going to ban it 🙄)

So....about that new MYTV decoder, what is the price? Is the decoder 'unlocked" as in I can scan for every DVB-S2 satellites or DVB-T2 channels or installing android apps?
Does the decoder has support for China AVS+ codec too?

I only found RM187 for the older version of mytv official decoder.

It can be done but with different satellite dish & decoder. Im personally using gtmedia v7 plus decoder connected using antenna for mytv and two sat dish - ku band dish for ninmedia and c band dish for other channels

Btw measat does transmit tv1 tv2 tv3 tv okey, history, animax etc on c band

Tv2 tv3 and tv okey are encrypted but its easy to bypass as long as you have a good receiver / decoder

MYTV already begin to relay its channels to Asiasat 9 on the transponder 11490 V 45000 (Frequency of 11490MHz, Vertical polarisation, symbol rate of 45000). But it appears that they have not publicly allow every Hybrid MYTV box users to receive via satellite, even they receive the hybrid box for free. And yes, only MYTV hybrid box can view those channels, as it is encrypted, not free to air (FTA) on satellite.

Satellite version of MYTV (DTH, direct-to-home) is meant for viewers who is unable to receive DTT signals due to whatever reasons (e.g. too far away from transmitter, obstructions, other surrounding factors, etc.) because satellite can guarantee 100% coverage across Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia, while DTT coverage reception for now is more than 95.3% in human populated areas for now.

Funny thing is that many receivers of free STB are selling away the 'free gift' with the price of  RM50 to RM150. Our kind and generous donor, Green Packet, don't sue MYTV la,  sue those sellers instead 🤣
