How about other area?

I mean it only took MYTV 4 months (this year) to install transmitter in Sarawak from 3 to current 9.

Previously, it took mytv 3 years to install 3 transmitters........one per year....for Sarawak.
*
Wow Sarawak already has 9 transmitter. How's the overall coverage now? Not planning to get decoder anytime soon but just want to know.

asstro is smiling now, their NJOI can take off now,all they need to do give out free decorders, and its all done!
*
Actually rather than giving to this incompetent MyTv to manage, they can just let astro manage it with NJOI. At the same time let other players compete on Pay TV service.

laugh.gif this is funny... Shall we see TM finally taking over MyTv's asset and become the partner to gov for deploying DTV?

No money right? Each account pay some money, say RM100 to 'reactivate' DDTV for whole life like NJOI. Problem solved.... Hopefully
*
No. Money might end up in someone's pocket. This is their project, if they fail means they fail, no need to ask rakyat pay for their failure.

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Nov 9 2018, 01:53 PM)
Good luck with that...
Those rely on MYTV is low income group.. Those expecting everything free... U think they want to pay rm100? Even rm50 also I'm doubt...
*
This is back like in the era of licence for TV. In the end it cost more to the gov to collect payment.

Ooh..
So the free one by government is totally cancelled...
So how do we qualified for it... hmm.gif
*
Following the BSH database. But imho they should seriously prioritise those in the low income group and those which has no means to upgrade their TV. These group will be severely impacted by the ASO.

But in exchange, China propaganda channels (CCTV 4 Asia and CGTN Documentary) must be allowed to be viewed by receivers.
One of the term and condition.  rolleyes.gif

CCTV 4 Asia and CGTN Documentary (before rebranding from CCTV9 Documentary) used to broadcast good stuff, but ever since the Emperor Xi ascended the throne, these two channels somehow become "China is great, right in everything, taiwan is wrong, japan is bad, US is our enemy, the thought of Xi, the 'educational' centre in xinjiang is good, the South China Sea is ours based on 'historical'* record by fisherman, we brought 'development' to Africa, democracy is bad = see all those riots etc"
*
malaysia not necessary have to use chinasat. What I meant is that cheaper technology is available for them to broadcast SD or HD as well.

MYTV in sarawak is also not stable. Amount of transmission towers must be increased.

Looking at the scenario, I believe by the dateline of ASO a lot ppl will be cursing at them.

I gave up with MYTV as signal reception here in Sibu Sarawak is too weak and unsteady. I use satellite and TVbox(but government is going to ban it 🙄)
*
Satellite has been long existence in Sarawak. Imo nothing to worry, just use whatever boxes while we can. The ASO is not gonna be so smooth I believe, because don't think they can iron out all issues in the shortest time.

So....about that new MYTV decoder, what is the price? Is the decoder 'unlocked" as in I can scan for every DVB-S2 satellites or DVB-T2 channels or installing android apps?
Does the decoder has support for China AVS+ codec too?

It can be done but with different satellite dish & decoder. Im personally using gtmedia v7 plus decoder connected using antenna for mytv and two sat dish - ku band dish for ninmedia and c band dish for other channels

Btw measat does transmit tv1 tv2 tv3 tv okey, history, animax etc on c band
*
But is the local channel in measat3 C-band encrypted or FTA? Haven't revive my dish and receiver for a long time now.

Tv2 tv3 and tv okey are encrypted but its easy to bypass as long as you have a good receiver / decoder
*

MYTV already begin to relay its channels to Asiasat 9 on the transponder 11490 V 45000 (Frequency of 11490MHz, Vertical polarisation, symbol rate of 45000). But it appears that they have not publicly allow every Hybrid MYTV box users to receive via satellite, even they receive the hybrid box for free. And yes, only MYTV hybrid box can view those channels, as it is encrypted, not free to air (FTA) on satellite.

Satellite version of MYTV (DTH, direct-to-home) is meant for viewers who is unable to receive DTT signals due to whatever reasons (e.g. too far away from transmitter, obstructions, other surrounding factors, etc.) because satellite can guarantee 100% coverage across Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia, while DTT coverage reception for now is more than 95.3% in human populated areas for now.

Funny thing is that many receivers of free STB are selling away the 'free gift' with the price of  RM50 to RM150. Our kind and generous donor, Green Packet, don't sue MYTV la,  sue those sellers instead 🤣
*
Our gov must have forsee this coming, hence no more free decoder subsidy.
