weikee, would like to ask you few things..hope you can help.. smile.gif

1) would like to know about the tree outside your house..MBPJ cuts it for you..but does it involve any cost? How much?

Outside my house got a big tree..I'm not sure whether the roots spoilt my drain or not..but damn a lot leaves fly to my car porch everyday... I plan to report to MBPJ..

2) What's the material for your kitchen cabinet and bedroom's wardrobe? (I'm using Melamine, want to see is it same with yours)

3) Did you involve ID for the design? Any designing cost involved?

My house is going to start renovation, awarded the whole renovation to my ID friend..early of December.. and schedule to be completed before March.. smile.gif

Can't wait for it..
*
Tree I report to MPSJ, take 2 months plus to come take care of it. Initially they only want to "trim", than I show them the damage it done to the drain and request MPSJ to cut everything. So they did smile.gif FOC

Material for my KC is plywood + ICA / Fomica. Is difference from Melamine.

My wife and me is the ID biggrin.gif I design most of the structure, she suggest the finishing.

Bro, may I know where you bought yours and how much it costs a set?

Have you put silicon/arcylic on your white grouts in Kitchen?

cool2.gif Your house now like showroom, ideas for many people and that is really helpful   rclxms.gif
*
Price not sure, depend the size from 1ft - 5ft.

I have put it @ my toilet basin where the mosaic are. Will put in to my daughter both room soon.

Added on December 2, 2011, 12:02 amAcid Stain all done. The border is stain in difference color. Too bad the concrete did not react to the color we wanted. Well acid stain is random, can't complain.

This 3 photos taken by the contractor. Will have to take a top view. biggrin.gif

seriously, ur acid stain flooring really super duper nice!! how is the labor charged?
*
Thank you. At least is something difference.

When i made the booking 6 months ago, it range from RM 4+ to much higher. RM 4+ is only basic one tone no cutting and engraving. More pattern will cost more. Think mine is around RM 8+, can't recall. Pay them many many months.

Very noob question on Acid Staining floor...the floor is pure cement? or there is are tiles? cos I notice you have the lines after staining.

And your house is featured on their FB page bro!!

Very very nice Acid Stained floor....Good job bro...

One thing across my mind is what happens to the floor many years later...the colour will fade? if the cement floor cracks, will it ugly?
*
Same things as tiles, crack also will be ugly. If crack, cement, and do some minor touch up like stain it, and seal loh.

Congrats on the outcome of your renovation. I bet a lot of effort, tears sweat and off course $$ had been put into it. Especially the porch flooring looks unique with good workmanship. And your kitchen too, simple black n white theme
*
Thank you, moved in already smile.gif

Today seal most of the gab using acrylic sealer. Including the gab on the hood top.

rclxms.gif Congratulations! Most headache period passed already.
I am half way through  shakehead.gif  pening la.

weikee, I am looking for acrylic sealer for my white grout so it last longer and no fungus grow.  Can share what you use? Post picture of the tube mabye?

How long is your kitchen top?  Only now I realise got one kaki (panel) near stove.  Mine is 10 feet long but no kaki in between. Contractor said no need  sweat.gif I hope it is strong enough?
smile.gif Terima kasih
*
I use PYE Acrylic sealer, Is like a paint, sold in 1L, not cheap. I just seal up to 5"off the ground / toilet top of my mosaic. Can get in Ace hardware or houz deport. I think Houz is cheaper. Mine is about 10 feet too.

My top is 8', i ask him put one support in middle. Safer, and i stand many times on the top when installing the hood. So far so good. And is about 3.5" think with rebar too biggrin.gif

herm just wondering the PYE Acrylic sealer can be used in toilet to plaster the gaps in between tiles at the floor corner? so that the wall outside toilet will not trap the moisture

The tiler will do water proofing on the toilet floor, and 1 feet on the wall.

Bro r u on 3 Phase power?
*
Single phase, but i split it into 2 zone, if you notice i have two ELCB, one floor each. If in future I need to use 3 phase, i will just one phase for 1st floor, and 2 phase for 2nd floor. Not much major hacking. Maybe from front parking porch to my main door will do.

Not sure about zheilwane filter, you got to check the inlet hose. This 3M don't use any screw, just lock the hose.

For the DB box casing, my contractor choose this plastic casing. I wanted the Metal casing but too bad it was out of stock (He and me source) for that period of time. Metal is better and can be paint over.

The hanging rod is hung from the ceiling, does it swing during operation? (When you hang the clothes hanger on to the rod)
- So far ok, swing a bit but not too bad. Installation is not cheap, RM 120 i think. But I saved it and install myself smile.gif
- But this specific model i got from (Xam-Max), i think is clone China made, the instruction menu and the actual product vary too much.

Bro..on the 3 phase...how many airconds do u have ? Cos the reason i plan to upgrade to 3 phase is that I will be having 5 airconds...but most of the time only 3 running simultaneously..do u think i need to upgrade to 3 phase?
*
Hehe, i got 6 A/C biggrin.gif 1 x 2hp, 1 x 1.5 HP inverter, rest are 1hp normal. and 2 x Storage water heater. I don't switch on all the a/c everyday. Mainly 1 at night maybe 2 if i have guest. Storage water heater random on and off. But usually manually switch off in morning.

Depend on your max load, and planing to have what continues load. 3P is good, but using power that required 3P will be like RM 400+- electric bill per month biggrin.gif

I have try switch on all the 6 AC for 1/2 hours without problem, but of course that is the only load all other equipment were off.

whats the load that this kind of hanging ceiling laundry can take ?

those steel cables "looks" , "unconvincing" smile.gif ,

Normal laundry load should be ok. Is steel cable. Easily 20kg per side. Most important is the mount is properly secure.

That's how I did my previous house reno too, old area without 3 phase so just split incoming into 2 DBs for each floor of the house.

You can calculate your peak load pretty easy, one horse power is 3.1A. You use the equation of P = VI, rearrange (wattage divided by 240 = current consumption). Basically by splitting into 2 DBs your MCCB should be able to handle the current going through the boxes. The only problem you might need to be worried of is your electrician using cables that are sized for such current.

And very nicely done reno, I applaud your perseverance and hardwork! And I think your reno bill might come out close to the price you paid for the house, haha! biggrin.gif
*
Thank you.

Hehe, i think it was 12 or was it 14mm cable. Good to handle up to 60Amps. Until it blow the TNB fuse smile.gif But I won't be running that much of current. I don't want to pay so much to TNB.

After all the reno and my purchase price in 2010, is still cheaper than a basic house now biggrin.gif same location and same dimension.
