QUOTE(prop99 @ Mar 24 2012, 03:45 PM) Your sofa very "swee". Can see it is fashionable modern low back sofa with back pillows, is this comfortable? This is the sofa from Florentino. Designed by Italian designer. (Big photo of the guy on the showroom wall). I've customized it a little by changing the back pillow to a bigger pillow from another Florentino sofa model. - I screwed up his design liao With that change, the back pillow actually support up to my neck. Most sofa I've tried feel kinda small, this is BIG. Kinda like 3 bed linked together, that is the main reason I choose this model. |

QUOTE(tiensong @ Mar 26 2012, 02:09 PM) Nice sofa...but i feel a bit wired with your arrangement of the sofa...maybe you forgot to take your space measurement before purchasing sofa... I bought this sofa in the early stages of renovation without really taking into consideration the dimension. Me any wifey just fell in love with this when we first saw it and knew we just have to have it. When I measured the living room dimension later, was a bit worried that it won't fit. But this sofa is designed in 3 protion which allow me to mix and match to fit the living room. 2 portion with hand rest on each end (A portion hand rest on the left side and the other portion, right side). 1 portion no hand rest. This allows for many placement option. With all 3 portion, I can set the sofa in L shape ( also can do an inverted L). Another option is to set the sofa in U shape. If still too big then another option is to take away 1 portion to be used stand alone and the the balance 2 portion to be used as a mini L shape. Eventually I went with the 1 st option as the living room size fits it nicely. Only trouble is I need a 60" TV to compliment this sofa - Any contributors?? Renovation Updates :- Some loose ends ....
A Dummy / Noob Household Ethernet Networking During renovation earlier I wanted some wires that transfer internet data that I see used in my office to be incorporated in my house. At the time I do not really know what I was doing as I am not a technically versed guy. I was just thinking that wire should transfer faster than wireless and wireless may not reach some areas (eg 1st floor) in the house. So I asked my electrical wireman contractor to do it for me but he dunno and do not want to do it. So I went out and bought a box of CAT 5e cable and gotten my wetwork contractor to conceal the cable for me. The cable were left jutting out of the wall as the wetwork guy dunno how to "fix" the wire end. This is a case of the blind (me-dunno) leading the blind (Contractor-dunno). Finally gotten some-one to "fix" the cable end. These picture location is the wall behind where the UNIFI's BTU and Modem are located. Loose Dangling CAT 5eCable jutting out from the wall. ![]() The Cable are all attached to Keystone Jack and the Keystone jack to the Faceplate. ![]() The Faceplate is finally attached/cupped to the wall (Inside the wall there is a faceplate wall base -the same thing used by wall power points) ![]() Note: the other end are located in 4 diffrent part of the house where i think I might use it in the future 2 are located behind the living room TV (HyppTV Box, possible small PC, possible Gaming Console) 1 are located on the 1st floor living room (possible extra wifi modem for 1st floor) 1 are located in the Master Bedroom Finally all the avalaible ports from the current WiFi Modem are connected to the "Ah Beng's Ethernet Network" ![]() Could have done this soooo much better if i knew what I was doing initially. Errrr.... What is a server ah??? What does it do???? Can use server here ah??? What else can I do to utilise this network thing I have set up here??? QUOTE(coconutzz @ Apr 2 2012, 08:10 PM) Excellent bro...but why so many ports? ehehe...1 should do it then plug into a switch / router, to be distributed...but i guess..still looking good You mean I can transfer from 1 port (source) to multiple port (receiver) ... aiyo btw, thanks for the Deka Fan Short review Added on April 3, 2012, 8:58 am QUOTE(amirsubhi @ Apr 2 2012, 10:00 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « is that 8 port to be exact? You need to connect all port to switch right, it will be messy a bit..you can try get a 4u cabinet and patch panel to hide everything in it ![]() a patch panel, is it something like a faceplate with more keystone jack??? Added on April 3, 2012, 9:04 am QUOTE(weikee @ Apr 2 2012, 10:43 PM) 2 for TV area actually not enough. To list a few Errr... from what I understand from your post you mean to have more than 1 receiving port (keystone jack with faceplate ) at the TV area , 6 port as you listed.- 1 for TV - 1 for Media Player - 1 for Unifi - 1 for Game console - AV player <If have> - Blue ray player <if have> So I end up put a switch in the TV area, and only use one port. The other port as spare. I got another 6 LAN for CCTV yet to terminate. Is your termination area close door / store room, if yes than why not use the patch panel like I do. You have 2 ports at your TV area, you use 1 port and have balance 1 port unused. How does a switch (what is a switch) helps to acheive this? What is terminate??? Sorry for all the questions here. Technical dummy here. This post has been edited by phoenix69: Apr 3 2012, 09:04 AM |

QUOTE(Mel2 @ Apr 3 2012, 08:17 AM) OMG! I followed yr whole Reno journey since yesterday. Managed to reach page #46, finally!! Phew!! Glad you enjoyed this thread. Great job, Phoenix!! I went thru the similar journey a few yrs ago, but a much simpler one as mine was a brand new house. After seeing what u've done, I now dare to look for a second-hand house and go for a great makeover... But not too soon lah, maybe in another 5 yrs' time.. I can see u are enjoying the whole process and the great outcome, plus a new baby....Kung hei!Kung hei!! Trust me, a new car should be on the way this year or maybe next.... I had a lot of frusturations Hope your plan for another house comes true and embark on another extreme makeover. TQ TQ for your congratulations for the new member in my family. New car .... never thought of that , now still recovering |

QUOTE(Mel2 @ Apr 3 2012, 09:27 AM) One thing u missed out though.. Actually, I do not want to paint my roof. U should've painted yr roof during yr reno... I noticed many ppl paying so much attention to the body and footwork of the house, what about a nice 'cap' to top it all? I know, it's quite xiong to do everything at the same time.. For us, we took a good 3 years to recover... Maybe for u, u need more time as u have a baby to take care... enjoy parenting and yr housekeeping.... I kinda prefer the current weatherbeaten faded look. Now with funds shrinking with no direction.... I can see you have gone through this phase before, seasoned veteran |

QUOTE(xsaed @ Apr 8 2012, 08:54 PM) not a problem if u use CAT6 cables... they got plastic core inside. Its grounfos UNI-E. Got it from zheilwane. Added on April 8, 2012, 8:57 pm what is the spec of the pump (brand, hp?, Wattage?) & cost of the pump itself, if u use it for upper story toilets, then ur water heater can be w/o pump, am i correct. Upper storey, lower ground, having a pump is to increase water pressure to your pipes so that all the toilets will have better pressure. Usually if water source,(Water tank ) is on the roof top, the upper storey has lower water pressure compared to the lower ground. Gravity is the main factor here. |

QUOTE(adrianjc @ Apr 8 2012, 11:51 PM) Is yours the Florentino Cool model? Just got that today and am wondering how you've found their sofa, so far. Err.. I dunno what my model is called. Bought the 2x 3 seater with arm rest and 1x 2 seater without arm rest. I think its the same model as yours, if i'm not mistaken. Fron your description, should be the same as mine. The original colour fabric is dark colour, I changed the fabric. So far so good. No complaints. The fabric I choose is surprisingly good with stains. |

QUOTE(adrianjc @ Apr 9 2012, 03:22 PM) Located on the ground floor on the left of the showroom with the dark grey stripish type material. Yup, that should be the one. Should be the same one kua. Taking delivery of my set early next month once i've moved in. Compliments to your choice. There is another Gold fabric colour one by the same designer that won an award and is displayed in a gallery somewhere in Europe.(they say wan) Wanted the fabric, but they say no as the designer specifically forbidden it. |
