Great info!! Looking at installing CCTV and home alarm as well. Mind sharing what you installed and cost? And how do you rate your installer? Can PM me his number?

Thanks in advance

Happy that you find this useful. I try not specifically recommend any specific brand or supplier in this thread.
I expect to be upload the instalattion pictures later, you can take a best guess on which people I chose from the clues there.
As for the cost, generally from what I gathered
Instalattion/workmanship its around MYR 170- 400 per camera.
Hardware cost diffrent brand have diffrent prices.

Good Luck icon_rolleyes.gif

Awesome renovation journey. Going through some renovations myself. Super useful info you have here. Thanks for sharing. Just wondering when you removed the parquet to install the laminated flooring, did you have to level the concrete floor? Or did you just installed the laminated flooring?
*
Yes, You have to level the floor. The floor level guy must be a sifu to acheive a good level floori.
Good Luck on this, My advise is better use a good Sifu if you can find one, skilled guys are rare.
And also regarding the laminated flooring, Get the expensive grade. A few $$$ more will be worth it as the floor is a non replaceble item especially when tou build a built-in wardrobe over it. (You cant very well change the fllor after that without diamantling the wardrobe.) rclxub.gif

Been reading from Post #1, I have to admit, for first time owners or newbies in renovation thingy, definitely an eye opener to the process (& hidden costs too laugh.gif)

Kudos TS, you have my deepest respect. Hoping to see the CCTV process too.

This thread deserved to be pinned though laugh.gif

Installing Home CCTV - Part 1

As mentioned in my earlier post, I went for the Analogue Camera System (HD 720p ) - reason stated also in earlier post.

The Hardware

Camera

The Dome Type - usually for indoor
The Bullet type - usually for outdoor

Installation Process (as I understand it)

Determining and setting up the "Command Center" (Where the Video Recorder installed with HardDisk Memory Storage + Multiple Port Supply is set)

In my case the 1st floor (Those who follow this topic closely will know exactly where this is)

Drilling a hole between the Command Center and Ground Floor for the wires.

Its all the way through between the floors but hidden from view as it is above the ground floor plaster ceiling.

Bro, I thought u believe in Feng Sui but I saw your bedroom, you install the L-Box plaster ceiling directly on top of your bed (head).. I thought its recommended not to have any beam or any things on top of your head while sleeping hehe..
*
Ahem hmm.gif the L Box is above the Bedframe headrest, Not above my face when ZZZZzzzz, so should be ok tongue.gif , but kudos to you for catching that detail ... good one thumbup.gif

Was high time to get more wardrobe space as we were amassing more "clutter"
There was always a wardrobe that I wanted to incorporate, but after the initial renovation habis $$$$
The "Narnia" door was there , so it was time to "conceal it" tongue.gif

Adding built in wardrobe (Narnia Model)

The wardrobe parts
- Plywood type of course icon_rolleyes.gif
