not advisable to share charger... will damage the battery life i guess...

IMO, if the voltage is the same, it should be fine i guess.

oic.. me nt very good in term of electrical stuff, better be safe then sorry...

Indeed. Sometimes, it only take one flip of switch to damage your electrical item if they are not compatible.

In your case, i think it is ok to proceed as the voltage is the same. I can charge a few Nokia phones with a few different Nokia chargers with different output "A".

thanks for everyone for the comment.. found this which is quite informative for me.

http://android.stackexchange.com/questions...oltage-amperage

i also saw some article mention that higher amp charger will charge the phone faster but would degrade the battery sooner..
is this true?  blink.gif
*
I think that is true for me. However, I think the main cause for the battery degradation caused by user is that they tend to use the phone to play game or chit-chatting when charging them. duh....

Thats because PC USB Voltage output is also 5V. Anything lower than that, your phone is in trouble biggrin.gif

Lower is ok. It won't charge. If higher, user might be able to smell the hangus smell...

lower amp is fine unless your handphone able to adopt different of load and adjust the charging speed without burden the USB charger...

if the handphone are hunger for power and must use certain amp to operate the charging functionality... if may overload the USB charger, overheat and burnt... worst come to worst, the insufficient load may damage the handphone, but for current technology the handphone should able to adopt at least computer's USB port's power load...

example: i used a power adapter with 1amp only for a equipment, end up the power adapter overheat and burnt after 15 minutes usage... as i checked with adjustable PSU with same voltage, the equipment required 3-4amp at least... means the equipment sucking more power from power adapter and more burden...

Hmm, last time when i tried to charge a N97 mini through my emergency charger with a very low output amperage and it did not charge. Also, if the equipment is switch off during charging, the risk you mentioned still exist? unsure.gif

oh.. doesn't they hv some internal breaker or somethin like that?
once it detected the voltage too high, it will auto cut of the power..

Most branded smartphones have it, but not 100% of the phone have it.

Higher amperage is okay if the voltage is regulated. 5A also no problem. Take current as the adaptor's capability. Voltage is the force.

5A also no problem? I really hope to see there are emergency chargers with that kind of output seriously. Most of the emergency charger takes too long to charge the phone battery during outing......
