Does anyone at TMNet still remember the term reroute all traffic, or are they suffering from Alzheimer?

Its almost 12 hours for crying out loud. Someone should have fix this by rerouting the traffic

Ping still high for me. This morning ping to yahoo is >500
Now its about 400... still 2x normal ping time. And still some random time out.

Sigh. Hopefully they can fix the cable soon.

My line is slower than ever today.

Past few days, some VPN still have quite an ok speed, today, that too is affected.

I guess their cable putus effect is slowly affecting other international line too doh.gif

Even logging into MSN takes very long. What happened to all the rerouting thing TMnet used to do in the past when we face a cable problem?

In the past, its only bad during the first few hours, then eventually things gets smoother as they reroute the traffic

These days its like they are enjoying the slow down.

download from steam also so slow sad.gif only after 12am get full speed back. Else capped at 30KB max :S
*
Yeah, it drop this morning at about 9am

I call BS on this one. It doesn't look like network congestion problem at all, unless all Malaysian suddenly online at the same time and cause Steam to drop from max speed to 20kbps

TMnet is certainly manipulating the network for whatever reason.

Depending on what kind of prob... for me, its just the general slowdown everyone is facing around the country

So if they send tech to my home also no use. Can't change anything from my end here.

And boy today is slower than ever

My speed seems to be back to normal.

But weird thing is IP 110 is having a blackout. Can reach the DNS server but no any website. Had to restart and get 175 and now everything is working

I bet those who don't access those sites won't give a damn. There's more to file sharing sites and I bet you know.  tongue.gif

Also many service offer by forum member here that download all the files to their service and we download from them, so there was no need to access all the file sharing site.

I'm one of them who use that service, thats why still using the default DNS until now tongue.gif

Thankfully we can easily use other DNS

Otherwise, the entire country's internet service will be useless today shakehead.gif

I called their help line, it said something about a cable somewhere, to Europe or something like that. Anyone else got that?

Sounds like another cable problem?

This is unfair. Everytime my download reach almost full speed, they drop my connection

a$$holes

Another test to confirm it

At slow speed, nothing happens

But once I hammer my bandwidth, this happens

and again

Guys.. to beat the TCP congestion algorithm you just need to artifically limit your downloads to slightly lower than you total line speed as i've outlined in my post above..

E.g. if your max speed is normally 438 kBps for a 4 Mbps Streamyx line, just drop your speed in your download manager to about 410 kBps as the upper limit...

Problem solved, at least as far as i've noticed... Slightly lower top speeds are better than insanely spiking speeds and dropped connections
*
Thanks man for sharing what you've found.

I'll try that out and see what happens. The connection drop is really annoying.

BTW, seems like the line is lag right now even though I'm not downloading anything. There's lots ping timeout to yahoo.com
