Henderson's first game for his new club is against his old club. Sounds familiar eh when a spaniard left us and played against us in the first match for his new club.
And you still love that spaniard.. English Clubs Liverpool Football Club - The Kop Talks 2011, Downing 19!

This is off topic but does anyone know how can I get Anfield tickets besides buying at the stadium?
I tried to google it but different websites gives different pricing (I mean really HUGE difference). The official anfield website stated that ticket price ranges between £30 - 40 . They are not providing online transaction. But another website which has online ticketing also has a much higher pricing at £200 - 250. |

Now Juan Mata will be on every Liverpool's fans wish list after his impressive performance for the Spanish u21 team.
Spain secured top spot in the group, and will now face Belarus, after a comfortable 3-0 win over Ukraine. Juan Mata scored twice, his second from the penalty spot, with Adrian bagging a goal in between. Denys Garmash saw red for a foul on Mata which resulted in the spot-kick. |

Transfer market so quiet.. Oh wait, what's that? Oh, it's just a pin drop..
Added on June 21, 2011, 5:37 pmTuesday morning's newspapers are focused on Aston Villa and new manager Alex McLeish who, despite being unveiled only yesterday, will have to make some big transfer decisions with Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish refusing to give up on his pursuit of Stewart Downing (Daily Mail). Report: Former Liverpool Striker Robbie Fowler 'Would Love' to Return to Anfield as Coach
Robbie Fowler is a Liverpool legend. But he might not be done leaving his mark at Anfield just yet, as he wants to return to Liverpool as a coach, according to Daily Mail. Fowler, who is currently a free agent after leaving Perth Glory of the A-League, is in the midst of completing his UEFA coaching badges. Upon returning to England, he's served as a coach with MK Dons and Bury. But the 36-year-old would love to eventually return to Anfield, where he's enjoyed so much success during his career. "If I'm being honest, I would love to [come back to Liverpool one day] but it's not really my choice!" he said. "If I could walk there tomorrow, I would, but it's not the ideal world as we all know." The fourth highest goal-scorer in Premier League history, Fowler scored 120 goals for Liverpool between 1993 and 2001, and then another eight upon returning to the club in 2006-07. |

QUOTE(bojek @ Jun 21 2011, 09:18 PM) suddenly I have lost hope in the team getting real talent. seems like at the end of the day we'll stuck with the likes of downing, dann, cahill etc. n not mata, sanchez, honda, hazard. damn it. if seriously cannot get the good one, i hope they promote wingers from the reserve like thomas ince, n Sterling, even pacheco. more game time for them wouldn't hurt right. QUOTE(fzul07 @ Jun 22 2011, 12:55 AM) For me (sounding like a broken record), I think Stewart Downing is the best left sided crosser since the time when Beckham was still the best on the right. You have to look at what players we already has in the team before judging what player is not talented. Downing might not be a 'Ronaldo/ Mata', but if we have a good header like Carroll leading our offense, having a good crossing left winger in our team will be a big plus. I would like to have Mata anytime, but capturing Downing's signature should be KK's priority. This post has been edited by weichieh007: Jun 22 2011, 09:49 AM |

Sols, i didn't know that you have such different views of our captain from most Reds fans. Interesting.. Of course, we would look stupid to turn down a huge bid for our captain.. No player is bigger than the club..
However, IMO, he may not be playing every match for us, he may not had a good 2010/11 (I blame the groin). But when he hit the right form, it's not his skills or killer passes that impresses, it's his determination and influence among his teammates. It's going to be difficult to find a better captain.. And his groin is feeling better than ever! |

Why are you guys sounding like Gerrard chose to get injured? A player never wanted to be injured.. They want to be on the pitch for as long as possible. Right, he still get paid all the same, but that's not the Gerrard that we know of. He wanted to win for the team. Remember his expression when Rafa sub out Torres when we were chasing a game 2 season ago?
To me, both Gerrard and Carra are equally as passionate about the club as you can get. Don't let SG injuries mask his contributions to the club. It's easy for everyone of us to say that he is irreplaceble because we're not the one training at Melwood day in, day out; we're not the one sharing the changing room; we're not the one playing on the pitch. What would the morale be like if he did indeed left? How would Carra feel? How did Reina felt when Torres left? Not a good way to start a season (just like when Mascherano left us after Man City game). |

It's sad to see more forumers seems to go along the less passionate/ supportive view on the Gerrard discussions. First there was bits of suggestion of stripping his captaincy, then there were pieces of acceptance in selling him to other clubs. Where's the passion mate?

QUOTE(LukeMjstc @ Jun 23 2011, 05:34 PM) There're no suggestion of stripping his captaincy. Don't be so sensitive mate, we're just stating that Carra could be a better captain than Stevie. Sorry, but.. nevermind.. QUOTE(vreis @ Jun 23 2011, 05:36 PM) i dunno there's a ban on selling Gerrard discussion here No need to get so uptight my friend. I was just stating my support for a Liverpool player. Didn't mean to judge others but I just wish they would be more supportive. No need to take it too seriously.. anyway, why so work up over something that won't happen, ie 50mil for Gerrard? the whole discussion is whether u guys accept 50mil for Stevie or not. Just stated ur reasons for it or just ignore if u dun like. Dont goes ard castigating ppl just because they have different opinion. Or is it pro Gerrard camp thinks their opinion is all mighty & ppl need to adhere to? FFS this is a forum, which if it escapes some of you, for discussion purposes. There's no right or wrong in it |

Another winger rumor:
09.33 Liverpool may give up on trying to land Aston Villa winger Stewart Downing as they are apparently interested in a £13.5 million for St Etienne's Dimitri Payet instead. Anyone heard about this guy? |

Florent Dimitri Payet (born 29 March 1987 in Saint-Pierre, Réunion) is a French football player of Réunionnais heritage who currently plays for French club Saint-Étienne in Ligue 1. He primarily plays as an attacking midfielder and a winger and is described as a player who is "quick" and "blessed with terrific technique and dribbling skills".

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Jun 24 2011, 03:51 AM) I din know a joke can turn out to be a heated discussion. To make things worse, I dont know that people take things so seriously. Well, I thought we were indeed 'discussing'. It just happened that some of us have different opinions. It's not like we're the one deciding a player's future. It was just a: discussion. Alright, my bad. Anyway, forget the Gerrard issue. Since u guys are not up for discussion, let's just focus on transfer rumours... Meireles is heading the exit. Newspaper today reported so! Anyway, I thought the Mereiles exit is still just a rumor? The source? |

QUOTE(lalula2 @ Jun 24 2011, 09:29 AM) It was just pure speculation judging from the signing of Henderson. I hope we'll be able to keep him, since we want to create a squad with enough depth. I also hope that we don't have to sell players in order to get new players. We've seen Mereiles playing on the wings last season. Since we're not having an easy time shopping for wingers at the moment, it would be silly to sell him before we got a winger.Since we have so many CM, I think the most likely player offload at higher price is Meireles. http://www.koptalk.co.uk/201106233795/Live...er-enquiry.html Added on June 24, 2011, 10:53 am Reina Johnson--Carra----Skrtel--Aurelio Mereiles-----Lucas-----Maxi -------Gerrard/Henderson----- -------Suarez----Caroll------ This post has been edited by weichieh007: Jun 24 2011, 10:53 AM |
