Hi everyone, newbi here with the saga fl 1.6
I just got my saga fl 1.6 yesterday evening.

The car is good and powerful. Pick up was good compare to the 1.3.
For FC, i still need time to check on it.
Got a question here, is it the auto gear knob have no light?
I understand that all auto gear knob display got light when u switch on the car light. Enlighten me or mine is malfunction.
Thanks.

yea...soundproof is essential for BLM's door, bro, how much do you spend for doing soundproof and speakers?

I'm planning to change HU is because I need USB connectivity, the stock HU is really bad, only can support CD.  sad.gif
*
If want to soundproof front door for sound system, do it properly.

Do not use insulflex, instead u should use damping material.

Depends on quality and brand, i DIY my front door, 3 layer damping+1 layer sound absorbing, around RM620 for material only, if done by shop, add RM180-200 for that.

The result is it can block the noise outside, stop the door, windows rattling and most important, even cheap speaker can sound nice.

If you just want the USB connectivity, change the HU.

If you want the better sound, sound proof and change speaker.

But honest speaking, stock speaker is 5'25' paper cone full range, bass still ok, mid and high range really muffle to my ear, even change HU also won't help.

The bubbles appear on the yellow lines of rear windscreen, that's why i suspect is caused by demister? lol.
*
Demister is one of the fact i think, + the workmen ship and quality is suck...mine 1 year 9 months BLM also grow bubble started from demister line...for me good also la, peel off itself, so next time want to remove less harmful to the demister line.. thumbup.gif

just change the stroke to 1.6 only
that's the only difference between the 1.3 and 1.6 model as well
everything else is the same
*
Bro, still got ECU need to change, not as easy as u think...

this is becuz WD40 is not a lubricant...it's just a watery based oil....or the other way
it makes something slippery for a moment only
plus i dn't recommend ppl spray WD40 on metal....it will make it rust somemore
for real lub...use grease...it's real lub and it really last long
*
Bro, WD40 is use to displace water from the rust and anti rust la...
Just that it cannot spray onto rubber part such as belt area because it will deteriorate the rubber and will break.

ok bro do let me know the price, btw the bonnet is crucial but lately when installed amp in my car so they removed the floor mat which is attached to the body and it was so thin so i suspect quite alot of sound coming from there as well.Just my opinion i think for our car we need a good sound proof and not some oem type cause our stock insulation is bad so we won't feel that satisfied.
*
BLM crucial soundproof part is

1. Wheel arc,
2. Fender,
3. Front Door
4. Floor
5. Firewall.

By doing 1st 4 properly, you can reduce engine and road noise effectively adi.

Bonnet soundproof effect can say equal to NONE. Don't waste ur hard earn money there.

Went to proton SC yesterday, checking the unsolved belting screeching sound, then they checked n confirm it's belting tensioner problem, luckily it's under warranty, if not 300+ terbang...
*
Then u better keep ur warranty. These tensioner cannot long lasting, approx 20k+ will start screeching again...mine from 20k screeching until 42k now, still haven't change yet...i asked mechanics outside, also quote 300+.

cold start is normal, sometimes unnoticable..but this sound is louder, can hear it all the time

last time at traffic light, the driver of the car beside me also point finger to my car.. blush.gif
*
Mine after warm up the sound will disappear, means not so serious compare to yours.

Maybe i will wait until change timing belt only change it, becos now 42k, half way+, hope it can tahan until 80k...

mine have cit cit cit but only 2 seconds when cold start up only
after 2-3 seconds...it dissapear
i suspect it's the bonnet ...cuz when i open the bonnet...also cit cit cit...
*
Becos ur now still in early failure stage, so shorter time only...

My car 1st time also like this, sometimes completely silent even cold start, then now everyday cold start will screech until the engine is warm/hot...park under sun will shorten the time too... laugh.gif

I also can say saga can reach 30km/L, 7 ppl on slope. No point arguing something that u cannot prove. laugh.gif
Anyway, base on personal exp on city drive, saga 1.3cc somehow has better fc, personal preference.  laugh.gif
*
Hmm, in fact quite impossible la...Saga got worst FC in city drive, but mainly due to +100kg more heavier car weight and powerful aircon compressor compare to Myvi.

But myvi suspension in terms of comfortable really suck la, my friend today just told me his Myvi go through speed line heart almost fall out of his body, too bumpy la... laugh.gif

Anyway, just want to share my experience on my Saga on this wednesday.

That day is rainy day, with my stock suck 42k+ mileage silverstone M3, when i exit the highway left corner @ 70km+, (normal dry road is like this), there are some uneven at the corner, soft suspension+body roll, my car bump a little bit and then start to oversteer...my car back end start to drift like no tmr...i thought my car front sure will kiss the barrier at the left...but luckily my experience of playing NFS shift 2 with steering wheel tongue.gif , i dun know what should i do actually, maybe just a nature, i manage to correct the steering and control the brake (normal ppl when panic sure will jam brake), really lucky, escape with safe... sweat.gif my 1st experience of nearly loss control of the car... doh.gif

Moral of the story, play NFS often and with steering wheel. doh.gif

*
Look from sideway of your signal lamp stick and wiper stick, inside got screw, one at each side (special screw, pentagon), just open it then u can open the cover adi...i also put sponge inside before.

Engine oil price up adi?

Last saturday i changed my engine oil to Total Full Sync 5W30 from previous Mobil 1 0W40,

The Total oil has increased from 188 to 206 adi... doh.gif but still alot cheaper than Mobil 1 la...

1st time using SAE 30 oil, instantly feel the power gain, very light engine and good pickup @ low rev...will see how much mileage it can tahan...

can really feel the difference so much? or just abit only..?
*
Minimise aircon kickin jerk, rev up more faster...

This is combination effect of SAE30 + cleaned K&N filter, i think.

how is the FC on SAE30?
*
Don expect it will give you 10% FC reduction. not try yet, will see from next tank..

Anyway, new car from now (43k) my car FC (manual) city driving is about 13-14km/L, highway 16.5-17.5km/L. So FC is not a big concern to me, becos my right foot always light.

1 bad thing abt using fully-syn oil is u have to change the filter every 5k...it cannot stand until 10k+ KM
*
This is the answer SC told you, in fact it can stand without any problem, this one outside SC told me one...

Last time i using Proton part with full sync, this time i using Mitsubishi filter.

ya...last month i go service also got shocked...increased alot
i told the boss...what??...last time RM90 woh...now RM108??
but forced to changed also

Added on July 4, 2011, 12:12 pm
haha...not sure
i think use semi-synthetic is the best between the 2
1st semi can last until 7-8K KM
2nd the filter can last abit longer around there but i think not 10k...it's too far
even now i'm using union japan oil filter...the seller also told me it's rated 5k KM only
fully-syn only last 10k or more but way more expensive than semi...and need to change filter twice
*
The reason i'm not using using semi becos the sync content is just not on par with the price.

Semi-sync, even we call it 'quarter-sync' is more than that adi...

Semi sync oil only mix 15-20% max sync oil with mineral oil, but it was 40 more expensive than mineral oil, in terms of protection, 2k more than mineral oil, then i better use mineral then...

If semi sync can last 7-8k, actually full sync you use until 12k also no problem.

hmm, okays.

any oil recommended? i was thinking bardahl 5w-30 fully syn @ rm 95 or Lexus Fully syn 5w-40 @ rm 140 or castrol edge 0w-40 @ rm145

another thing is that the FC is terrible, its like pumping for a BMW 328i, i heard from a friend, can request for ECU reflash at the SC?
*
Bro, the ECU and engine oil used is not a big factor for FC contribution, it negligible...

control your right foot is the only solution,

But of cos if ur place is jam like no tmr, even Kancil will become BMW, right?
