No SHSH Blobs, no downgrade. Connect your iPad to your computer, download and run Tiny Umbrella (google it) and in the advance tab check "Request SHSH from Cydia". If the iPad was previously jailbroken then there is a chance that Cydia may have the SHSH. If TinyUmbrella comes up with an error message saying that No SHSH found, you are out of luck. No chance to downgrade.

You can only upgrade to a firmware version that is no longer signed by Apple if you have the SHSH for the firmware version saved somewhere. If you do not have the SHSH, then you will not be able to upgrade to that version.

QUOTE(june_c21 @ Oct 25 2011, 07:13 AM) it is ipad1 and ipad 2 having the same firmware ? i want to jailbreak my ipad 2 firmware 4. 3.5 using redsnow and ipad 1 4.3.5 firmware . it is possible ? No. The firmware number is the same but it is different version (iPhone and iPod also 4.3.5, but it's totally different). iPad 2 can only be jailbroken if it is on 4.3.3 . No other method or firmware can jailbreak the iPad 2 at the moment. This post has been edited by azraeil: Oct 25 2011, 08:44 PM

Once Apple stops signing the firmware, you CANNOT update to 5.0 ...

tamago11, edit your post. NO DISCUSSION ON PIRACY please. Added on November 14, 2011, 3:39 pmQUOTE(ddr3 @ Nov 14 2011, 08:41 AM) how do v know apple is nt signing for 5.0? i connect my ipad2 to itunes it still says update to 5.0 wor, not 5.0.1..... Then you should be able to upgrade to 5.0 then I guess. I'm getting the same notification (5.0 instead of 5.0.1) so maybe I'll try and see. If you get 3194 error, that means Apple no longer signs the firmware. This post has been edited by azraeil: Nov 14 2011, 03:39 PM

Added on November 15, 2011, 12:17 amto any pros out there, for ipad2 wifi only. i update to ios5 b4 after two weeks of boresome i downgrade back to 4.3.3 using method provided by redmonpie site whoch require to edit the host file n use tinyumbrella, let say i want to update to ios 5 when the jb is out for 5.0, can i do it the same way to trick apple to sign the ipsw? Nope. You cannot upgrade to iOS5.0 once Apple stops signing the firmware even if you do have the SHSH for iOS5.0. Once you missed the signing window for iOS5, that's it ... So the choice was to upgrade to iOS5.0 while Apple was still signing it and wait for the jailbreak to come out OR sticking to a perfectly working 4.3.3 untethered jailbreak ... I chose the latter.

This is the bottom line for Jailbreak for the iPad 2
The iPad 2 CAN ONLY BE JAILBROKEN if it is on iOS 4.3.3 . NO OTHER FIRMWARE VERSION for the iPad 2 can be jailbroken. I repeat, NO OTHER FIRMWARE VERSION (4.3.1, 4.3.2, 4.3.4, 4.3.5, 5.0, 5.0.1) CAN BE JAILBROKEN.

QUOTE(mawm87 @ Nov 20 2011, 05:03 PM) I have a question to ask for the pros here, i bought an ipad with 4.3.3 and have jailbreak it. Situation: my problem is now that this ipad is in passcode lock and I dont remember the password.so what i need to do is to restore it through itunes So here the main questions: - when i restore this ipad, will it be in ios 5.0.1? - Is there any ways that I can restore back to 4.3.3 and have a jailbreak again? Thanks! Check with TinyUmbrella if you have your iPad 2 SHSH for 4.3.3 saved. (Make sure you check the advance tab and request the SHSH from Cydia). If Cydia has your SHSH stored, then you should be able to restore to 4.3.3 I am not sure if you can get TinyUmbrella to work if your iPad is on a passcode lock though but it doesn't hurt to try.

Jailbroken doesn't change anything other than allowing you to get root access to your iDevices so YES to all your questions.

Joelles, I'm in the same situation as you were. Had my 4.3.3 SHSH with my 1st iPad 2 but when I sent it in for warranty, they replaced it with a new unit (still on 4.3.3) but during 4.3.5 signing window. So I'm on 4.3.3 without any SHSH so if anything happens, I'm pretty much stuck and will probably be using the same shortcut methods as you are now using.
The 5 exploit that p0sixninja found in IOS5 beta has been closed by Apple (greenpois0n.com) and it's looking like Apple has won the war. The unthetered JB for iPad 2 iPhone 4s on iOS5 ain't happening anytime soon.

QUOTE(eikozai @ Nov 30 2011, 08:19 AM) LoL..~!! Stars can be gain when u spam enough posts ma~ Azraeil oso a lot of stars~ haha.. I hope I have earned the stars in LYN but I do agree that stars in LYN does not mean that the person is trustworthy. I have had to answer some of S3an_Looi questions before so I am quite surprised that he is hawking a scam. Based on his posts, he has an iPhone 4 on semi-tether (just posted yesterday or 2 days ago that he has that). Based on my involvement in the JB thread, I kinda know who does his research and knows what they are talking about etc (huiquin88, Joelles, Yezhaholic are members with some credibility in my opinion)

None of the reliable websites are reporting that a jailbreak for the iPad 2 or the 4s is even close to release. Unless s3an_looi has some sort of cable with the dev-team (which I don't believe it for one minute).
Why do you need to take the iDevices from the user and bring it back later? EXTREMELY risky and no sane people should do it. This is a disaster in the making.
Because of that thread, that bad boy is already on my "be extremely careful" list.

If you have the SHSH for 4.3.3 saved somewhere (either locally or in Cydia) only then can you downgrade. Without the 4.3.3 SHSH, you're out of luck.
