A little Code Geass feel in Ep.02
I mean how does Gai knows what weapon Shu can draw out from certain person?
If he made a mistake there the outcome will be totally different.

There's a few things that make me remember Code Geass from this episode with some added flavor.
- King Power/Ability of The King/Kings Mark that Shu got
- destroying floor to disable mecha + fallen building
- civilian execution + mother and son drama
- keikaku doori + totally unexpected asspull

One of the few thing that I couldn't digest right now is how a remotely controlled mecha transfer the pain/damage it received to the pilot and the fact that the pilot could've died if the mecha is destroyed.
I can't help to think that the writer is just trying to be different for the sake of being different, and at the same time doesn't want to stray from usual core of mecha anime, the death of the pilot and the life they risked.
Also, the whole concept of 'drawing power from friendship' were utterly stomped when Shu uses his power on a stranger he barely meet whom he probably hate for the murder that is committed in front of his eyes.

I can't express how much I hope this could be better, but seeing how bad the writing and the direction is currently, I shouldn't expect that much.

Most prolly the control system allows the mecha and the controller to somehow become one; it allows greater control of the mecha, but at the same time it transfer the "pain" that the mecha feel too. Somewhat similar to Eva, minus the fact that it's a remote system.

Tho IMO weakness for (or any) remote controlled system is if the enemy employs heavy jamming, the mecha become sitting ducks

such a cool anime. love the feeling from code geass too. and the ost is jaz nice. def gonna cont watching. at least this anime boast about sumthing not jaz about school life lol

so shu keep the weapon with him or need to draw again if need to use it ?

The Void will return to the user afterwards if I'm not mistaken.
So far ep3 is the worst episode in terms of the screenplay, but can't help to fell in love with Shu's apartment, it was well designed! XD
