i think you will cave by the time MH3G Ultimate arrives in March LOL
anyway, there is no need to wait for Zelda to be announced for a Nintendo console. it's not a matter of will there be, it's just when. This post has been edited by yangkuo: Dec 20 2012, 11:46 AM |

just downloaded Mario Bros Wii U from eShop.
surprisingly the GamePad's D-Pad and buttons are especially comfortable for the controls in the game. either they refined the game itself or levels or everything in tandem. initially thought of playing it mainly through Wiimote (for prolonged play time) ... but now i can see why it's not half bad using the gamepad after all! P/S: finally understand where the "Oh yeah three coins!" comes from LOL |

you can't. safest bet is to use eShop prepaid points card (for US networks) to add funds to your account.
even those eShop prepaid cards noted as for 3DS eShop can be used to add funds to your NNid (Wii U account). but note the funds added to your Wii U acct will NOT be shared with the 3DS acct (if you have one). a possible alternative is to use those virtual US ccard service eg. Citibank which lets you purchase things using a US-like ccard number. QUOTE(pspfan @ Dec 29 2012, 05:34 PM) Added on December 30, 2012, 10:32 amnot sure if you already know this but do take note that the Wii U GamePad has to be "discoverable" by the console (which also means it needs to be turned on as well). this discovery range can vary and it mainly depends on obstacles around the room/house and it's materials. mine loses connection by the time i get to kitchen toilet door which is about 30 feet away from console. there is a couch n slight wall blocking in the way though ... btw there is 8GB Basic Set & 32 GB Deluxe Set. if you DON'T plan to download a lot of titles from eShop Basic set is still ok. there is only 3GB left when you first completely setup and update it the first time. there is option to use USB HDD though... albeit have to find a known model that works reliably Deluxe Set will include lots of other goodies besides the 25GB capacity (left after first setup n update). NintendoLand is bundled. Digital Deluxe Promotion (rebate campaign for eShop purchases). additional accessories for the console. be prepared if you want to be Nintendo owner especially in M'sia. it's not necessarily like buying and using any other appliance especially if you dunno where to get help and stuff for it later ... other comrades, pls chime to help our potential supporter here *haha* QUOTE(zad78 @ Dec 29 2012, 06:05 PM) Looks like I also wanna jump ship to wii u...just for the sole purpose of portable gaming using the joypad...so that I could play while laying on my bed... This post has been edited by yangkuo: Dec 30 2012, 10:32 AMHmmm now deciding the 4g or 32g deluxe.... |

Cannot speak for others but I bought and am playing most of the main launch titles from 3rd party devs.
In fact just completed Mass Effect 3. Great game. Also finished Trine 2 and Nano Assault NEO earlier. Both very replayable games. Now enjoying Mario U and enjoying Batman & Assassin's Creed III ! CoD is in queue as I am waiting for my pro controller to arrive with Ninja Gaiden ... P/S: actually I bought Mario U last and that was thru eShop. May not hv done it if it wasn't as convenient. QUOTE(stringfellow @ Dec 30 2012, 02:05 PM) This may be a question out of curiosity but I'll ask anyway: Nintendo is embracing third party devs and actively shedding its "first party" and "family friendly" image with the Wii U. But I don't see new current Wii U owners excited about non-"family friendly" titles like ZombiU. If Nintendo is doing its best to change its image, would their stalwart Nintendo fans follow suit OR continue only getting/excited about "family friendly" titles from first party devs? This post has been edited by yangkuo: Dec 30 2012, 03:15 PMP/S: I refrained from saying "kiddy" and said "family friendly" instead. Don't wanna get slain by cutesy Pokemons and cuddly Pikmins. |

so far no but i have encountered a few freezes here and there while playing different games. usually the freeze happens during some sort of loading phase (Eg. after i choose System Settings ... and it stays at the "loading" screen forever).
no buzzing or high pitch sound freezes though so far. i have encountered those once in a blue moon on Wii and usually it's in game. believe it's like a app crash state ... my main suspicion (other than scratched disc, dusty console and stuff like those) is the system firmware which is in a fairly new/no-real-world-tested state especially when it comes to network service integration eg. Miiverse. which game are u playing daily or when it happens? if the game supports Miiverse you can test by switching that feature off temporarily and see if it's indeed the culprit. i know it happened in Nintendoland and Mario U (obscure and rare - once so far). and YES i can understand the lack of physical force power shutdown in cases like these is a little ... discomforting QUOTE(stevenplc @ Jan 1 2013, 02:57 PM) Hi guys. My wii u freeze and sounding like a vuvuzela twice. I have to pull the power cable to stop it, after that it runs fine again. this will happen once a day. Anyone here face this issue too? Added on January 2, 2013, 9:51 amif you redeem those digital (downloadable) contents then it's easy. can download direct using your console after redeem. but if you want those physical items eg. playing cards, diary book, etc of course you'll need a valid US address for them to ship the items to you. QUOTE(andrewyeak83 @ Jan 2 2013, 09:14 AM) Guys I wanna ask I already registered my console and I got 170 coins. Can we redeem some of the stuff. Anyone try to redeem before? Added on January 2, 2013, 9:56 amfor some obscure reason i only found out how to send a friend request while browsing profiles. do you see my request? i remember there was no option for me to add u as a friend directly when i last checked few days back. http://ddp.nintendo.com will redirect to the site you mentioned. yes, i have successfully redeemed my usd5 credits there.
take note though that you'll need to wait (at least) 24hrs AFTER your eShop purchases to see it listed on that site. if it's your 1st time then make sure you wait 24hrs BEFORE attempting to logon. if you logon earlier (for the 1st time) it will give you an error saying something like "your NNID is not eligible..." QUOTE(rash_462 @ Jan 2 2013, 09:59 AM) Coins as in Club Nintendo? Is this the correct website (click me) to redeem the code for the Deluxe Digital Promotion? Iinm, previously the address contains the keyword "ddp". This post has been edited by yangkuo: Jan 2 2013, 10:02 AM |

speaking about the ending of Mario U.. i hit what was potentially a glitch right AFTER beating that final stage.
at the prompt to post to Miiverse i answered yes to post something. after i completed my post the Gamepad displays a error message saying the console has lost connection to the gamepad. batteries were still fully charged and i could still press Home button to see close the game and exit to main wii u screen. unfortunately i didn't get to the part to Save so i had to fight the final battle again when i reloaded the game. on an unrelated note ... the Wii U Pro Controller is huge (by Nintendo recent decade's standards) but it's comfy. Hi
QUOTE(andrewcha @ Jan 4 2013, 03:10 PM) Added on January 4, 2013, 4:01 pmI'm relatively fine with them so far ...perhaps it's bcos the ps3 died ages ago and all I've been using was wii mote and nun chuck at most as dual analog controls. But one thing I find so far for me is it's easier to press ZL or ZR compared to L and R (especially to hold it) QUOTE(gundamalpha @ Jan 4 2013, 03:41 PM) This post has been edited by yangkuo: Jan 4 2013, 04:01 PM |
