Hihi guys, help me critique my itinerary plan please? 5d4n in Tokyo:

Day1 (arrive narita 6.45, reach hotel 8.00):
Shinjuku, Meiji Shrine, Harajuku, Shibuya
Day2
Tsujiki Fish Market, Nihonbashi, Ginza, Tokyo Dome City, Imperial Palace East Gardens, Akihabara
Day3
Ameyoko, Sensoji Temple, Asakusa, Sengakuji Temple, Shinagawa, Tokyo Tower, Roppongi, Ikebukuro
Day4
Disneyland or Disneysea (which one better?)
Day5:
Can't really do anything cos 1:30pm flight so have to leave quite early

Too packed/Don't make sense cos things all over the place? I stay at a hotel in Toshima. Also ... feel like going to just one temple OK liao, which one to choose?
*
I feel that Disneysea is so much more interesting than Disneyland. Why don't you visit both? I did not regret one bit that i actually visited both!

Hi guys,

I'm going to japan for 7 Nights - should i just stay in Tokyo or venture out? Thinking of Kyoto... smile.gif

Any recommendation on the accomodation? smile.gif

Thanks in advance!!
*
IMO, 7 nights or 6 full days are good enough to explore the city of tokyo with their numerous areas of interests. Probably you could branch out to Hakone for a day trip.

If you're visiting both the disney parks and sanrio puroland (this one will take maybe 5 hours max as it's small), that'll take you 2.5 days already.

But that's only if this is your first time to Tokyo/Japan.

http://www.my.pyotravel.com/tour/japan/best-deal

is there any hidden charges?
*
When i click on it. Seems like that is the price when it's 2 to fly.

uh oh..i'm travelling to japan for holiday on 2nd sept, i checked weather forecast for tokyo and scattering thunderstorms all week long sad.gif Anyone in tokyo can confirm this right now? How's the rain? All day long or just stop-start rain?
*
I dun think anyone here can confirm the weather since it's just forecast. It might or might not rain or have thunderstorms. Just be prepared with slippers and umbrella/raincoats.

I'm heading there tomorrow! I was abit disappointed in the weather forecast as well. But the rain is expected as it rains all the time until end of Sept, I think.

Hi All,

I am going to Japan coming February 16 to 23, 2012... thanks to AA cheap flight..

It should be winter still right? What would the temperature be like?

I will be arriving Haneda at 10.30pm... below is my ROUGH itinerary, can someone share some opinions on this??

16th - Arrival at Haneda - overnight somewhere? roam around the street.... zombie~
17th - Take the earliest bus/train to Osaka, overnight
18th - Take the earlier train to Kyoto
19th - Kyoto
20th - Earliest bus/train to Tokyo
21st - Tokyo
22nd - Tokyo
23rd - Departure sad.gif

Total 1 night in Osaka, 2 nights in Kyoto, 3 nights in Tokyo...

any recommendation on BUDJET accomodation for 2 pax? ><"

also, what is the most convenient mode of transportation? I would assume its the bullet train but boy, they cost a BOMB!
*
Actually, just 3 nights in Tokyo - would be very rush coz there are alot of sites to visit.

Yup, the JR Shinkansen is expensive but if you actually go all around and make full use of it, it's not that costly.

Bus would take you HOURS. Since the 17th you would want to go to Osaka dy, why not check out the overnight bus from Tokyo to Osaka? At least u have a place to sleep whilst on the way there. Coz if not mistaken, take bus about 9hrs leh (if not mistaken). Wasted dy since your schedule is so packed.

Are you not going to Disneyland/Disneysea or Sanrio Puroland? You won't regret it.

I actually was in Tokyo for 8 nights the 1st time round, I make full use of my time and actually went EVERYWHERE in tokyo that's worth to visit. 2nd time round, I just hang out and shop and meet friends and I did not once regret the packed schedule that I have when i went there the 1st time.

it's that expensive huh? was thinking about getting a digital camera or something sad.gif

oh well thanks for the info. hopefully i'll find something weird to buy in akiba..

If not mistaken, the commands of the camera will all be in Japanese and can't select language but it may have changed now. A friend bought a DSLR from Tokyo and he had to slowly learn up the functions!

QUOTE(chanti-sama @ Oct 26 2011, 02:46 PM)
Hi Everyone,

I am planning a trip to kyoto for 2 persons, and I need some advice on the budget on accommodation, travel and food minus the air fare.

Estimate
JPY 30,000 for 6 days with average of JPY5k per day x 2  = JPY120,000
JPY 20,000 within city traveling x 2 = JPY 40,000
JPY 25,000 for sight admissions and temples x 2 = JPY50,000
JPY 66,000 for 6 days in kyoto budget in 2 person room at kyoto ryokan
MISC JPY 50,000

TOTAL for 2 persons 6N7D - JPY 326,000 (MYR 14k)

wow! i think i need help!
*
You are over-budgeting.

Since you will only be going for 6 days, Yen100k is enough for 1 pax. I don't think you will go into ALL the paid attractions right?

Your accommodation is a little expensive. Try b&b or guest houses or even those private hostel rooms with share bathroom.

Food isn't at all that expensive provided you don't go to fancy restaurants.

This should be enough for a minor shopping spree.

Hi everyone.

I'll be travelling to tokyo on January via airasia (landing in haneda).

For accomodation, I'm looking for guesthouses around tokyo. I'm looking for those that provide transportation from and to the airport, and within walking distance to public transports.

Anyone had experiences in staying in guesthouses? Care to share some tips on looking for one?
*
Try googling for 'Guest House in Tokyo'. Then check out their address in google map to check if they are near any train station or not.

I'm leaving on the 13th Nov. Will be in Tokyo until 23rd Dec.
I'll be staying at Tokyu Stay Hotel in Shibuya.

Now, I need to study options to get to Shibuya from Narita AP. sweat.gif

My manager told me to get on the bus limousine from the airport. Which is about 2000 yen.
Any other options?
*
Check out Wikitravel and search for Tokyo for more info on how to get out of airport.

Alternatively, google for Narita Airport's website and click on 'Access' and they'll show you on how to go and get out of the airport.

What would be the average temperature in Osaka in mid-November ?
Would long-john be required ?
*
Should be in the range of 17c to 7c.

Depends on you la if you need long-john or not. Like, I can tahan up to 0c, never needed long-john coz my winter jacket is warm and I'm a very warm person.

Just have long sleeve shirts, jeans, lots of socks and winter jacket ready.

You should invest in a pullover hoodie too for when you go to sleep if the room is not properly heated.
