Not sure if the request will be accepted.

Posted this on AMEX thread, thought of posting here to get more attention and help... I can't sleep tonight.
After few attempts, it keeps showing error and the transaction didn't go through. So, I thought of calling Maybank CS to check on this matter. To my surprise, all 5 attempts have gone through and they have amounted up to RM 370! The problem now is my account is not activated and I have not received any email from Yahoo! telling they have received my payment. When I used my CIMB DA last year to make such payment, it went through and completed only with 1 attempt. Immediately I received an email from Yahoo! billing saying they have received my payment and my account was activated right after that. Maybank asked me to contact Yahoo! to check on this matter, I only can contact them via email which I have done so and I'm now waiting for their reply. Anybody has such or similar experience before? I'm basically so helpless now. Will these be reversed eventually? I don't wish to end up paying for something I didn't get at all. |

QUOTE(simplesmile @ Aug 13 2011, 11:09 PM) This is serious. Care to share with us what browser you're using? I'm thinking maybe it's a browser problem? I hope you don't get charged 5 times for something you didn't get. It is not browser problem, something coming from Yahoo!. The error is from Yahoo! Not because of my Firefox. It says something like there is problem with your payment....According to Maybank, they are already charged to me. *I'm basically shivering now.* |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Aug 13 2011, 11:24 PM) If me, after second attempt I will stop and check (e.g. online account to see if transaction was successful). From what you mentioned, I guess you have no choice but to wait for yahoo's reply. Yes, you are right. I was definitely being blinded by this, should have stopped but hell I'm stupid enough.Let's pray hard. QUOTE(charymsylyn @ Aug 13 2011, 11:28 PM) If Yahoo doesn't reverse the charges, you can file a dispute with MBB. Note that you might still need to pay first (to avoid finance charges) while the matter is being investigated and there are certain consequences for this action. I called CS again, yes they said I can raise a dispute and I'm not required to make any payment during investigation? This might be a good time to advise other people that if a transaction fails for no obvious reason, trying again without checking with your card issuer is not always a good idea. But anyway, I still have 2 weeks till my statement date. Hopefully my case can be solved by then. The worst part is I don't have a number to call Yahoo!, everything needs to be communicated through email. I admit my stupidity. Haiz. |

QUOTE(David83 @ Aug 13 2011, 11:35 PM) I hate Yahoo! response. They're so slow and I remembered that the email I sent to them regarding my Yahoo! mail account is not replied at all! Actually I sent it to Flickr email, I used to send them email once last time and it took 1 day for them to reply back.Hopefully they are still as effective as they were back then. *p/s: Flickr is under Yahoo! just for some people that are not aware |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Aug 13 2011, 11:42 PM) Well, at least this is good news. Nope, I have been checking non-stop... by the way , can you check your Flickr account (or whatever) to see if your purchase was successful/updated? Let me screenshot here: I'm still getting this banner when I logged in: Then I checked on my order history, I still see my account expiring and only one order which was last year's. |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Aug 14 2011, 12:03 PM) it's weekend so doubt you'll get a reply within the next 36 hours. Looks like you need to use your DA to ensure your account stays active Now I don't want to extend it until Flickr people reply to my email, if all 5 gone through, then just reverse 4 and use up one quota for my extension. Haha. Blogging not my style anymore. I basically can't sleep well this morning, why? This post has been edited by fruitie: Aug 14 2011, 03:30 PM |

QUOTE(alexwsk @ Aug 14 2011, 03:29 PM) normally for online payment, i tend to use IE with pop up blocker disabled My Paypal account was registered with my PBB credit card which was already terminated earlier...and you should have use paypal to pay for it btw, did u fill in 15 numbers for your amex or add a zero in front? By the way, it is nothing to do with browser, it shows Yahoo! doesn't accept the transaction. I filled up the card numbers and CVC. Anyway, latest update: Yahoo! Customer Care has replied me at 3.02 p.m. and mentioned they are more than happy to assist me to get these charges reversed. I was required to provide them more information which I have done so. Now waiting for second reply. God bless. |

QUOTE(zenquix @ Aug 14 2011, 07:43 PM) Should have registered the Amex to the Paypal. I actually used the front 4 digits. Anyway this may be the error. Amex uses CID which is the 4 digits in the front of the card. The 3 digits is not used. Then it came out error, so I changed to the three digits. Hence, after some trial and errors, pop 5 attempts! Good news for my case.
"Based on the information you have stated, I was able to pull up your billing records and found that your transactions using your American Express card did not go through. You may see these as pending charges on your account. Rest assured that these amounts will not be processed nor will be collected and will eventually fall off your statement within seven to ten business days depending on your payment issuer." I replied them to provide me final confirmation and I'll then send this email to Maybank. God bless me. This post has been edited by fruitie: Aug 14 2011, 11:02 PM |

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Aug 14 2011, 11:03 PM) Now waiting for final confirmation from them, then I'll call Maybank to ask for help and need them to let me know how I should proceed from here to lift up all my charges.I better use my CIMB DA to purchase the account. Terkejut me. In their email, they also mentioned this: "On the other hand, there was a problem processing your AMEX card as your credit card issuer does not participate in the address verification system (AVS)." What does it mean? Can I use my M2GC VISA to buy? Or better use CIMB DA since I used it last year and had no issues with it. This post has been edited by fruitie: Aug 14 2011, 11:13 PM |

QUOTE(charymsylyn @ Aug 14 2011, 11:49 PM) AVS is a system which checks to see if the address in your account matches your card issuer. This is common for US merchants but usually the system does not work for non-US cards and is generally ignored for international transactions. Some US merchants usually immediately decline if they detect a non-US card. I see but CIMB DA is a non-US card too. We can see you are LYN staff but a minute in Google would have answered your questions. You are one funny guy, LYN Staff is nothing OK? We are normal humans. If everything needs to be Googled and can be found on Google, then what's the point of having this thread? I might as well close this thread. QUOTE(Gen-X @ Aug 15 2011, 10:13 AM) Rules and Regulations Eh, please la. I'm quite a friendly person if you know me well. Do not troll or flame. Do not intentionally post inflammatory message. No lah, don't close this thread, issue him a warning instead, hahaha I don't issue that many of warning. Back to the topic, got a confirmation email again from Yahoo! Called to Maybank CS today and the guy has advised me to send an email to AMEX Maybank. I'm now waiting for their reply, I don't foresee much issues with it. |

QUOTE(zenquix @ Aug 15 2011, 10:47 AM) I would still recommend registering your Amex to Paypal and paying with that instead. Using DA robs you of the 5x points and non-expiry of points. Actually I'm still quite new to Paypal, in this case I shall read about it and proceed with registration using my AMEX. Thanks for the suggestion. |

Hi guys, any of you guys link your AMEX card to PayPal? I tried doing yesterday's morning and until now I still haven't seen the code on my M2U to verify my account. Normal?

QUOTE(tifosi @ Aug 17 2011, 10:20 PM) It took around 3 days for it to appear on my transaction history. Alternative, if you want it urgent, you could try calling Maybank to check if they have the code already or not on their system. I called last night, wasn't ready on their side yet. OK, then I shall wait until tomorrow. I'm still waiting to renew my Flickr Pro account using PayPal. Gosh, for the sake of 5xTP. |
