For the first time ever, TUSO will be collaborating with Taylor's Dance Club and Latin & Ballroom Dance Club to put on a different touch into their show this year, EXPRESSIONS!

"EXPRESSIONS" is a dance themed concert featuring an array of dance repertoire, ranging from classical to contemporary dances such as tango, waltz and salsa. By combining two wonderful art elements together, MUSIC & DANCE, TUSO promises another remarkable and exciting night where one will be fascinated by the mesmerizing live music and dance!

Malaysia’s premiere annual 2 nights/3 days camp with our Artiste-in-Residence Carlos Bonell (UK) and our guest artistes Padet Netpakdee (Thailand), Phuong (Vietnam) and Johannes Moller (Sweden) in the lush greenery and cool climate of Fraser's Hill idyllic setting. With the Society's tutors Simon Cheong, Leong Yee Hoo, See Sew Hong, Lee Ji Xuan, Ernest Thomas, Chuah Yeong Chin, Ong Peng Yang, Jovy Fong, Low Kean Soon, Low Yang Li, Jesslyn Chan and Richard Kok

Lots of activities - masterclasses, workshops, ensemble practices, professional concerts, participants' solo and ensemble performances, getting-to-know-you, camp T-shirt, Certificate of Participation and Lucky Draw! Get to live the 2 nights/3 days with our world renowned guitarists, get their autographs, take a photo with them, get to know them, make friends with other participants (friendships that can last a lifetime!) and most of all, have fun learning the guitar!

Age 15: Shazet has been taking his originality and creative sounds to the new-school beatboxing scene, especially in South-East Asia. He hails from Penang, Malaysia and got his big break after winning Beatbox Melbourne Championship 2008 in Australia. He has then performed for various events, mainly in Malaysia, Cambodia, Australia, & Germany and represented Malaysia in the Beatbox World Championship 2009 that was hosted in Berlin, Germany. His recent victory that he became the 2010 Malaysia Beatbox Champion.

Lim Kok Wing graduate (Sound & Music)

Involved with many big collaborations, with DJ Goldfish & Blink. Performed on the same stage as local hiphop/pop artist like Altimet, Arabyrd, Sonaone & more. Was involved in the popular patriotic song '1 Malaysia' and have performed in front of thousands in LUCT, KLCC, Publika and more! Known as the singing star songbird in LUCT.

The Beat Kitchen's student/intern under DJ Fuzz from Teh Tarik Crew.
Great on the 1s & 2s, scratching and remixing on his turntable.
Eclectic mix of ol'skool hiphop and his own remixes/originals with live acoustic instruments.

Tiva (Singer)
Aspiring Singer/Songwriter/Producer

Age 9: Became lead singer in her gospel elementary choir in Birmingham, UK. Age 12: Started underground hiphop gigs in SG with Lady-E. Age 14: Opened for local bands Spider & Spin. Performed on a stage where late MJ, Janet, late Whitney & Mariah have performed on & won 1st place in most international school's talent/interschool competitions in Brunei.

Known for his lyrical flow and performances in various places in LUCT, The Square @ Publika, many open mic gigs & more! Students did a video biography on his musical journey for their minor.

The Malaysian Institute of Training and Development (MITD), Penang, together with a local orchestra group, Musica Sinfonieta and several musicians and singers from Taiwan will be organizing a musical performance called “Music Extravaganza – Penang-Taiwan’s Musical Exchange” on Saturday January 19, 2013 at 7.30pm at the Dewan Sri Pinang, Penang. This musical concert will involve top musicians and singers from both Penang and Taiwan rendering classical music, folk songs and a classical performance, the Butterfly Lovers. It promises to deliver to people here a night of top rate music and songs, besides providing young, budding musicians from Penang an opportunity to interact and learn professionally from some of the leading Professors of Music from Taipei, Taiwan.

Among the artistes from Taiwan who will be performing are:
• Miss Elaine Chang (張杏月), one of Taiwan’s top soprano singers;
• Professor Chou Tong Fang, a famous vocalist/pianist and concurrently Professor at the Department of Music, National Taiwan University of Arts (周同芳,聲樂/鋼琴 (國立臺灣藝術大學音樂系教授);
• cellist Miss Sun Wan Ling (孫琬玲 大提琴, 曾任台北市立交響樂團首席，國立藝術學院大提琴教師，臺藝大校友會副會長) and
• Professor Dr Sun Chiao Ling, a famous violinist and Professor at the Department of Music, National Taiwan University of Arts (孫巧玲 小提琴, 國立臺灣藝術大學音樂系教授).
Apart from the cultural objective of promoting music, the concert will also be held for the purpose of assisting patients diagnosed with thalassemia. In line with this, proceeds from the concert, which will be raised exclusively from donations, will be donated to the Thalassemia Society, Penang (Pertubuhan Thalassemia, Pulau Pinang) and the Musica Sinfonieta.

Invitations with a donation of RM30, RM50 and RM100 are available. Hope to see you at the concert
