Or Honda scalvaging (recycling) old Civic battery pack and modify it for Insight use? To some this is big hoo haa or a no no. Well if this is real, I dont see any problems actually because both uses same NiMH cells ..just taking out the new cells from the Civic battery pack (since Civic Hybrid already EOL) and repack into Insights IMA battery pack. After all ...that's what GREEN is all about. As long as 5 years warranty is valid...I think shouldn't be any problem. Save the Earth! |

QUOTE(joshuawong @ Jun 7 2011, 01:49 PM) Hmmmm, if let say our battery suppose to last up to 10 years then after all the repacking and only 5 years warranty given. That's mean we have been cheated and taken advantages to accept refurbished battery just like 3rd world country. I think you got it wrong by using the word refurbished. Repacking the "new cells" has no impact on service life. Perhaps saying it this way is easier to understand, just changing the container. Anyway all these are just our speculation. No official words hence guys reading this please don't take it too seriously. |

QUOTE(yipguseng @ Jun 8 2011, 03:17 PM) Hi all, was wondering. The sunshade for our windscreen, i know that most of the sunshade are a freegift of banks, insurance or some other brands, but the size of it doesn't really fit our insight's windscreen. Wanted to ask if there is any other sizes for the windscreen, and...actually where to get it ar? i scouted the shopping centre and hypermart but cant seem to find anything. I am using the aluminium fold type. Try Jusco, I got mine there.[attachmentid=2260572] |

the different color tones and uneven seam joints kinda obvious. But overall quite nice, I think will have better oomph with rear wing installed. Do you keep the old pieces (if any they removed) ?

Make sure you replace the parking lights to SMD5050 type too. Hehe myself saw pedestrians head turn...sometime twice to view the car front end. How is your Hella Supertone doing? Using stock relay no problem? If everything is good, I'll place an order soon too. Man the stock pinn pinnn horn sux big time |

QUOTE(infinitium @ Jun 12 2011, 01:42 AM) Slim type = meaning for your H11 main lamp/bulbs? Don't know what 'slim type' means... but RM150 for a HID set is a really good deal (esp w/15 mths warranty!) Slim type means the ballast and ignitor are separate unit, well actually doesn't matter slim or normal type. As for bulb type, Insights low beam and fog lamp both are H11. High beam is HB3. |

QUOTE(infinitium @ Jun 12 2011, 01:58 AM) Sharing some photos of my Hella SuperTone installation work: Hey actually I prefer your installation, neater without the rail. Its the 30A relay that produce the 118db. The stock not enough juice to give these Supertone the boost.Mounting the twin-tone horns (one low tone, one high tone) on a mounting rail (the rail came from my mechanic who happened to have a spare). I wanted to space the horns apart, by at least 2-3 feet between them, so the sound is clear: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « After measuring off, mount the horns on the rail and secure tightly: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Forgot to snap a photo post-install, but here's my horns when I did it myself (without a proper mounting rail that you see above). After I tested out this install, found out it's not as loud as it should be, so drove to my mechanic and ask him re-do (mount on bracket + rewire using thicker wire + add 1 more relay): » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « VERY satisfied w/my horns now. Sound comes out clearly... just behind the center grille (can see the horns if you squat down in front of H emblem). Am going to enjoy these horns for a long looooong time |

QUOTE(infinitium @ Jun 12 2011, 02:00 AM) I see. Interesting. Snap photo of your HIDs when it's on? Ya I did checked and survey around for HID prices, comparing Ebay, China online site and LYN sellers. Price wise not much different but local sellers warranty is easier to work with. Never check with shop though, didn't know they cost that much. But seller did told me Grade A is RM150 and cheaper ones is about RM100-RM120 per set.Funny that the price differences across HID kits can be so huge - you got yours for RM150, while an accessories shop in Penang is quoting RM800 for a HID kit (they claim it's from Korea, 12 mth guarantee, UV coated). The price diff is so huge - I wonder why... Here a shot of my car with the 4300K HID. ![]() |

QUOTE(kelvin_hata @ Jun 12 2011, 12:52 PM) haha sorry bro. Me in Sunway, Selangor.Added on June 12, 2011, 7:26 pm QUOTE(ultramankaiser @ Jun 12 2011, 01:21 PM) bro iPhone, which seller did you get your HID from? is it bright? coz I'm fed up with cheap lousy HID's...thanks for replying Hi I bought it from LYN seller. PM me I will give you his contact.Hmm performance definitely better than halogen. Current consumption lower too 35W vs 55W. Brighter than halogen but not sure can match Philips HID or not. Philips will cost 7x (Ebay) and 20x (local) more. Added on June 12, 2011, 7:29 pm QUOTE(joshuawong @ Jun 12 2011, 11:56 AM) Maybe we should get one and make a mold with it. Then we sell it at RM400, also can make money. Damn stupid to jack up the price so high. joshua, calm down. We'll see! I see more and more Insights OTR now. More competitor will start to offer very soon. As usual price will be negotiable very soon. Better to hold our horsey for now. This post has been edited by iphone: Jun 12 2011, 07:29 PM |

QUOTE(ultramankaiser @ Jun 12 2011, 10:07 PM) mine seems to have that problem too! and there's one part where it looks like frozen liquid nitrogen...white powdery thing right next to the engine cover on the right.... Yeah I did asked about the white powdery substance when I first got my car a month ago but nobody reply to my question. I wipe it off and doesn't seem to appear anymore. The rusty part not that bad yet but can see the stain and start to show sign of rust will appear soon. |

QUOTE(Mr.DC @ Jun 13 2011, 10:08 AM) Mine got no sound but the stupid rust make the car look cheapo. I told SA when my car was ready for collection, PLEASE make sure my plate is square and not rectangular.by the way, by any chance bro here have changed the rear plate panel as shown in this pic? I think it looks nicer on white, rather than the initial plate with the black board cover the whole plate number area. ![]() Added on June 13, 2011, 12:13 pm QUOTE(gadgets2us @ Jun 13 2011, 11:07 AM) Well I have a problem with my driver seat, which gives a "knock" at my back and also a "tok" sound, whenever I press brake abit harder, whenever I accelerate suddenly or when I make a turn. Something seems to be loose inside, its like something hits me at the back, like a small ball or something like a massage chair sensation. Nothing's bulging out or anything, just that if i lean back hard, it gives a sound "tok" and when i release it, it "tok" back. Very irritating. So I sent it to a nearby SC, to check on it. They checked and said it needs to be replaced. However, after knowing I didnt purchase the car from their SC, the SA directed me to go back to where i bought the car from to claim for warranty. And that they can't do anything for me. Well, that's just really unacceptable, as I bought it from my hometown, which is far away. And knowingly, warranty claims should be nationwide SC, I gave HM a call to complain about this SC on the spot. After listening to my story, HM advisor called up the SC and directed it to the SA who was serving me. After for like 30 minutes waiting, the SA approached me and said they will help with the claim and do a report on it. That is, after consulting the service manager there. So I kasi complain to the service manager la, he told me, yeah, its true u can claim from any SC, however, as there are many cases where other SC often push away customers to their SC to do the claim, they also pushing them away. So lame and unprofessional. I think they do not get any commission and yet they need to put in a report with pictures etc, to support the claim, hence they reluctant to do it. Nevertheless, the service manager took the pics, and assured me that he'll make the report. Says would take maybe 1 months to claim it, IF HM approves the claim. Also have to leave my car in the SC for 1-2 days to fix a seat... wah... fix seat also need 1-2 days. My an neh can open up all seats within 2 hrs lol. We'll see what this service manager can do le, just quite unhappy how they give false information to customers to avoid the hassle of doing a report. Glad to hear they going to replace for you. Could be the "Passenger's Active Front Head Restraints" malfunction. This post has been edited by iphone: Jun 13 2011, 12:13 PM |
