Looks like we might having the same path ...  thumbup.gif ... but Im still troubled by the bad comments.  sad.gif

Anyway, hope ur PE will serve u well just like ur Kancil.  biggrin.gif

Put it this way, normally if ppl got good comment, they keep it to themselves. Only when got bad things happens, we cucuk sini, cucuk sana.

If you can afford it, I would still suggest H-Line due to the extra NVH and somehow better built (so-called). There are something just different between M-Line and H-Line that was not mentioned in the specs....don't know what tho...just cannot tahan M-Line a bit thin can door closing sound...H-Line very very good door closing sound (I know....I sound soooo shallow).

Besides the stupid Gen2 windows issue in my Persona....I think my suspension start quecking...very loud noise when try to move when still on brakes...like those 5 years old cars or those sound from ship...creaking...and this is only a week old car....

Noise start appearing on my steering wheel, bird chirping on driver side (don't know where), door, outside, etc...back start having bird chirping as well, somehow the changed windows (earlier post mention noise after change window) noise tone down a bit when going thru bump (something even not appearing).

Besides all these creaking, car groaning, bird chirping....yes sound like a 10 years old car (my ex-wira even more quieter), the NVH (for H-Line, m-line really different, tested) is comparable with my City. Good handling beats both my City and Civic 1.8 (that 1 thing I'm still impress with this car). Lousy FC, but thats understandble, less than 1K (my City only improve FC after 15K, and takes off greatly after 20K).

Signal light sound a bit cheapo, my ex-wira sounds better....surprisingly the pickup is better than my very low expectation...quite good, if pickup slowly instead of revving.....way better than myvi auto.

Quite strong 100km/h pickup. Thats abt it for 1 week drive.

If u want to have solid close door sound, why not try install these at the door frame at the body

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1860084&hl=

As for some noise..normally it comes from rubber plastic rubbing sound. Need to DIY to fix some.
*
That extra sealing might have problem for door to close ler. Secondly it is the padding inside the door that makes the difference. Of course we can foam it for soundproof but I think Persona is already too heavy.

Unfortunately the noise from those plastic rubbing....I cannot determine where the noise comes from. Inside the car or outside esp on bird chipping noise coming from driver side, everytime going thru even slightly rough patch of road.

Just tried putting masking tape on the rear seat hooks....cannot lock back. Maybe too thick. So had to take it out again. Maybe will try insulating tape instead.

My next 1st service, have to check the loud creaking sound movin/stopping from brake position maybe from the suspensions, the clicking noise from steering wheel, if possible the birdy noise from the front (as mentioned above). Already spend near to RM200 doing alignment and changing adjustable camber (camber ran out more than 1 point liao). Just don't trust Proton alignment service.

Have to apply 1 full day leave to go to CoSE next week again. Wasted 2 days liao last time. Thinking of waiting a full day there again gives me the chill. If kautim ok lar....but like last time...comes with side effect...sien liao.

My wife after driving the Persona (replacing her Wira) for the 1st time yesterday, dislike the noise and lack of power so much.....she don't want to let go of my City. Some more so makan minyak. Drove 1 trip, 50km, habis near to 1 quarter tank. She compares with City that almost did not move in the fuel meter at that distance.

Today she officially chong kong my City and I die die also have to drive Persona instead (don't mind too much tho...but really lack power accelerating from standstill esp thru bumps (my house has at least 3 bumps each direction). Beside the irritating birdy sound from front and loud air cond compressor...

Which car, City 06 VTEC or PE H-Line? And my VTEC no 60/40 seat wan. Fixed. 1st model of MMC. Honda whack in a cross bar behind the rear seat instead. Improve drivability vs other City without it.

Maybe if u join TT we can sit ur car and look for the source of the sound. Ur PE is auto ?
As for the FC of course cannot fight with city. If u easy on the pedal ur full tank can get 420 ~ 450 km per tank on 50/50 driving
*
I'm quite light footed....so prob will improve FC once the engine becomes vet. Trying to convince my wife it will improve and lack of power is becoz she don't know how to control acceleration yet, since not all car same. Failed miserably becoz she just mention 1 thing, if I can make most noise disappear, she will consider...waliao err...thats an impossible task coz 1 week got so many sound liao....

My PE is auto and frankly I enjoyed driving PE tho I'm currently having shoulder ache...maybe seat not adjusted right yet....I remember even driving City initially gives me the ache until I find the right spot. Civic has not such ache adjusting tho..true comfort.

If sound cannot solve, really would consider TT, if you don't mind ah pek attending....

Also considering changing the engine oil to 40 weight, either semi or fully later once FOC service expired. That should help with the acceleration somehow.

Yeap.. U think Proton so generous give tint to every single line? laugh.gif

Yea.. Why? Are u wondering what am I still doing here? laugh.gif
Listen closely.. If dun have then probably its not IAFM problem.. Bad throttle response can be caused by many things..
Got meh? Didn't receive also..
*
Give tint ???? They are charging us a fortune for a tint that did nothing but prevent glass from shattering to pieces. Maybe 99% UV protection but thats it. Probably added 1K to our price for a tint that worth no more than RM200.

I tore it down the next day I got my car while its still new, coz I'm worried if I do it latter, the rear demister might also comes out. Zero heat resistance..

Ok. Got the e-Service Voucher for H-Line only, I think.

Mentioned its free labour AND parts for 4 services. 1K, 5K, 10K and 20K.

Can anybody list what parts is used for 10K and 20K service? I assume 1K and 5K, change engine oil and oil filter only. Need to check with iCare if its all covered in the major service or only part of it.

I'm wondering, Proton no need service every 5K meh....just notice its 10K, 20K, etc. What type of engine oil they use for 10K and 20K service, mineral can last that long kah...or is it semi..

Same with me lah. I think he got the latest offer. Some more got free parts but we got free labour onli.
*
Just found a site listing it...

FREE SERVICE FEVER CAMPAIGN (ONLY for H-Line)

Offerings : * FREE 1 Year E-Service Voucher worth RM760
* The itemized parts for individual Mileage as below:-

1000km / 5000km / 10,000km
Engine Oil
Oil Filter
Drain Plug
Gasket

20,000km
Engine Oil
Oil Filter
Drain Plug
Gasket
Spark Plug
Radiator Coolant
Labour

No mention on Labour for 1-10K, so, not sure if labour is included there but 20K included labour (as listed above).

Have to check with CoSE when I go there Tuesday next week for 1K service on what type of engine oil they used for 10K and 20K. If mineral, really doubt it can last 10K. The only oil that can last that long in our weather and traffic condition would be fully syn and that is really pushing the limit.

Ya, the most dusty brake pad I've ever used.

If there is a lokatoo girl there, I already walap her last week, spend 10 hours day waiting due to screwup on Proton servicing.

Zen,

Any other thing missing there on 20K service. Need to know in advance. Do you know which Petronas oil they used for free servicing esp at 10K?

After calculating individual cost, they're charging us at least RM1500 for the GPS and RM685 for safetint.

Sakit hati....torn the RM685 tint just like that, throw to longkang. I usually no need GPS wan...that a total of RM2185 overpaying.

btw. I notice there is a multipurpose container listed in our spec. What is that? If its a removable item like first aid kit, etc. I don't think I have that..anyone got a picture or a link to it..

Added on June 16, 2011, 12:39 pmWalau! Show me black face. Say thank you her, she just ignore me.

I already done by alignment and camber outside, the moment I drove abt 100km, run a bit to the right. Trust my mechanic way more than Proton's. Proton's 1K (if service before 1K mileage) got free alignment wan but I rather forgo that.

Ok, does anyone know the market price of Syntium 1000 and 3000?

Although got quite some time to go to 10K, probably 5-6month.

Was quite sure if Proton use Fully Syn on its FOC 10K/20K services, they're sure to use 1000. Want to see the price difference they charge if choose to upgrade.

VS won't help much unless you got ice in your car, otherwise you might not feel anything after installation. The thing I like abt VS is LED of weak battery indication.

Since I get car 2 weeks ago. No wash, park outside. I did polish the interior with those dashboard polish and the leather with my leather polish (remaining from my City). As long as I keep inside shiny and clean and probably wash the windows....occassionally, I can live with externally dirty car for months.

Probably going to do Magic Glare package next weekend after 1K service. Found it hard to wash dry bird dropping now while all my other Glare polished cars can just wipe those dried droppings easily.

1month left car dirty not good mate. U will find ur self water mark and hard dirt. what color ur car?
*
Silver. Thats why I had to spend a good amt on Magic Glare pro polishing service. The sealent minimize water marks. So far it works for my City. Last time 2 months no wash also no problem. Hard dirt wash off easily on sealent but not on my current stock condition. However the windscreen is another matter. That one have to wash, if not really got watermark.
