QUOTE(pyroboy1911 @ Jun 11 2011, 06:27 PM) Bebe to join Besiktas on loan and probably permanent transfer? Lol yea but i doubt he was seriously considered to be a part of our first team next season anyway right :Shttp://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/...-report?cc=3436 Now this would make more sense for Young to come. But im sure we all still have much expectations of Obertan though.. |

TBH Bebe wasnt 1 of those that i rate. considering his history in football, plus the fact that he was bought without proper scouting (regardless of price), he might not have what it takes to play at the highest level with Man utd. He is a heck good of a player to have get off the street and play in the top league of BPL, but i do feel being a star player of United, week in week out and join the ranks of Nani, Rooney etc is a bit farfetched.
maybe it was this "meteoric rise" that attracts Queroz and thus recommendation to SAF, but i think he will need a whole lot more polishing than that. maybe a loan move out is the last resort SAF sees to improve himself and gain experience? and if that fails then it will only be fair for both sides if he decides to leave so he can play regularly for other clubs. For a homeless boy to join a team like Besiktas and maybe one day be a star there, is an amazing enough story. Plus does anyone thinks that for his physique, the wing probably doesnt suit him? he's 1.9cm tall. could be moulded into a holding striker, and one that challenges arial balls from crosses or long balls down for counter attacks. First, what makes you think that bebe was brought without proper scouting? Based on the price? I don't think so. I'm sure the scouts had done their jobs(besides queiroz recommended him). Whether they can succeed in bpl or not, that's another story. And i don't manutd would make a 7 million signing with a proper scouting.maybe it was this "meteoric rise" that attracts Queroz and thus recommendation to SAF, but i think he will need a whole lot more polishing than that. maybe a loan move out is the last resort SAF sees to improve himself and gain experience? and if that fails then it will only be fair for both sides if he decides to leave so he can play regularly for other clubs. Being 1.9 tall , doesn't mean he doesnt suit to become a wing. Look at thierry henry, he's 1.88cm yet a successful winger and striker. And being short doesnt mean someone cannot be a centre-back(example: cannavaro). And being tall (1.9cm) doesn't mean he is suited to become a holding striker or a targetman. If you get what i mean This post has been edited by nshady: Jun 11 2011, 09:38 PM |

well, it is normal to think that being a tall and well built player suitable to play either as holding striker or CB. Bebe as we all witnessed, he have the speed which enable him to play on the wing except that he's yet to get his grip on his football.
we all know that SAF and Queroz worked closely in the past. maybe Bebe is like Rossi, unable to shine in EPL but will shine elsewhere. who knows. at least Bebe is not another Ali Dia. |

I din say he sucks ass at wing did i? i just meant he could be more utilized by challenging arial balls at the front, attacking balls with his speed and getting ahead of defenders in a loose ball situation. He is tall, strong, athletic which is totally different with Henry who are more skillful (and btw as a LW at Juve, flops). He could utilize his physique like how Drogba does. Not to mention he was recommended by Queroz as a forward initially, playing as wide striker with his former clubs. was quite surprised he was used on the wings for us.
And SAF only seen him the day before signing, and has never seen him play before signing, only through videos. Compare that to other players who SAF are interested in (going to watch De Gea play for example), thats what i meant by no proper scouting. Do you actually think SAF does all his signing based on scout reports only? Even if SAF trust Queroz that much, SAF admits it is uncharacteristic of him to not see the player himself before signing. QUOTE(pisces88 @ Jun 11 2011, 06:05 PM) why some ppl say its consider splashing the cash or overpriced if we sign modric or sneijder but its okay for 20million young? lol. both modric and sneijder is worth the extra 5-10million if 20million for young is considered 'okay'. It doesn't matter what we normal fans think about how much players would cost because our club don't do signings above 30m. Fahct. We might in the future for that one special player, but the signs are is that we are very careful with how much we can spend on players. While SAF is given a free reign on whoever he wants to sign, there's a limit to how much he can spend on a particular player. Go above 30m and we usually steer clear.priority is in the middle of the park, we have enough wingers even if we dont sign Young. Alot of players are fast, but not all have the football brain and energy to play in the middle of the park IMHO. |

These three clubs linked with the same player(s) so far.
Manchester United, Man City, Chelsea - Modric and Sneijder... lol...obviously we aren't the favourites to pay the huge paycheck and transfer fees |

QUOTE(mhyug @ Jun 11 2011, 06:15 PM) and all this were assuming from the gaffers word were "interested".weve had players turning us down on the 11th in the past so this isnt confirmed either.besides i think if this one doesnt work, the gaffer must have back up plans, fail to plan is planning to fail. Nobody else is coming in for him. Those two big ones in Spain already have their good GKs. So there's no worry someone might potong q to get him. He's changing agent(to Mendes, Ronaldo's agent) at the end of this month. That's why he's not talking much about it in public. Again I feel he's already made up his mind and we already know about it. We've approached him a while back, so it's not like he doesn't have time to make up his mind. A couple of weeks is plenty enough.fingers crossed he is deflecting just to get some peace for the u21 tourney. as for our reserve lads, pogba, morrison and many all have talent but they are not ready yet.cleverly, wellbeck, kiko and diouf are the ones we'ill see more and more next season imo with spaces opening tho none of the slots in defence kohkoh as for pogba, morrison and the others next season will be their "intro" season starting with the league cup.they may look ready now, but the playing field isnt the same at the moment tho they are knocking all the right doors. Giggs, Fletcher, Carrick, Ando and some-new-cm will be first choice. So those guys can make the bench sometimes and play in the cup games now and then. That's what I meant by giving chances to them. Around 5-10 games will be plenty enough in their first season with the first team. Welbeck got 13 appearances when he was 19. And next season they'll both be 19. It's about time they're gonna get a taste in the first team. Morrison is gonna rock our world. Trust me on that one. QUOTE(pisces88 @ Jun 11 2011, 06:21 PM) yea, i think thats why he's worth 20million. but if young at 20million already considered 'terrific signing' (quoting someone), i see modric or sneijder at 25million to be super-worth-the-money signing 25m? Their clubs won't even answer us if we made a starting bid that much. Offer them 30m and they will start to nego the price. Around 35m is what we're looking at for them. Tottenham is gonna bleed us dry again, especially now they're in a stronger position and want to get back into CL.oh, also, maybe SAF will wait for the U21 games to end, then see whether got other gems to sign |
