I think pastore's price will be around €40m. Have you tried soccernet.com's jersey sale?

QUOTE(beck_ken @ May 31 2011, 03:30 PM) Let me give all of you my view regarding young coming to manchester united. Most of you will question, why sign another winger when we have nani, valencia, obertan and bebe? To me, he is more than just a winger. He adds a different dimension to our team, he is well known for his trickery and pace on the flanks which we don't have(nani is skillful but the pace is different). He will not only fill up the gap at the left midfield when giggs retire but as well provide challenge to nani. Why i say he's more than an ordinary winger? If you check last season(2010/2011), he plays as a support striker quite often and the best thing is he gives us more option in set-piece taking. He's a regular penalty taker for aston villas as well as their free-kick taker. This gives us a lot of advantages, despite relying on CR to take them in the past, and we have more options to take set-piece aside from giggs, nani and rooney. Don't you think that's good? No hanky panky, he is the vice captain of aston villa, and has led the team a couple of times, which i hope he will add more leadership onto our team. Besides being an english and homegrown, he's at peak age...which im sure lots of team will compete to sign him. He's is a player full of quality, which is why he was listed in the premier league team of the year twice. I hope my statement will answer your doubts, let us start rebuilding our squad now..feel free to add your comments |

QUOTE(ooorait @ May 31 2011, 04:28 PM) hehe if in FM, i prefer gibson to replace scholes... Gibson doesn't have the scholes passing, or the holding midfield quality. but........ we need to buy really good playmaker.. sneijder maybe Sneijder's passing is definitely top class, he's one attacker every team wants. |

Newcastle eye Berbatov swoop
QUOTE Dimitar Berbatov could swap the red of Manchester United for the black and white stripes of Newcastle United in the summer. The Bulgarian's future at Old Trafford looks to be coming to an end after being left out of the squad by Sir Alex Ferguson for the Champions League final against Barcelona at Wembley last Saturday. And that is despite being the club and Premier League top scorer with 20 league goals during the concluded season. Now according to The Sun newspaper, Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is ready to hand the 30-year-old a lifeline at St James Park. The Magpies are reportedly willing to meet United's £7.5million valuation for Berbatov, who would want to be appreciated at a club and be their main man. He is in fact is a childhood fan of Newcastle and idolised Toon legend Alan Shearer when he was a boy. However, it remains to be seen if he will be amenable to a move to Tyneside or fight for his place in the starting line-up at Old Trafford next season. Berbatov joined United from Tottenham for £30.75m in September 2008. http://www.espnstar.com/football/premier-l...Berbatov-swoop/ |

Owen extends Old Trafford stay
QUOTE Michael Owen's contract has been extended for a further year, in a deal that will see the forward complete a third season as a first-team player. Sir Alex Ferguson said: "Michael has proved to be a top footballer. It’s unfortunate Michael didn’t get more opportunities but the form of Chicharito put everyone in the shade and his partnership with Rooney proved invaluable. I am delighted Michael is staying for a further year and we will look to give him more opportunities in the new season.” Michael Owen said: “I’m delighted to have agreed a one-year extension to my contract. To play alongside so many great players, under an exceptional manager, and in front of so many incredibly passionate supporters, is a real inspiration. I can’t wait for next season to start." http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features...ds-OT-stay.aspx Good news indeed, hopefully he'll be injury-free and can reach very good level of fitness. I know he's one player capable of nicking us some goals next season. This post has been edited by nshady: Jun 1 2011, 05:18 PM |

QUOTE(onepack @ Jun 1 2011, 05:19 PM) I think some of them may go on loan somewhere again. Just have a look at pique and rossi, their chances were limited but now they have become successful somewhere else.Just like David gill said, we will have a busy summer with our spending spree. We will start rebuilding since vds and scholes have retired and giggs will most probably play for another season. SAF has a huge task to be done This post has been edited by nshady: Jun 1 2011, 05:42 PM |

I don't think we will be able to keep all three(welbeck, macheda and diouf) with rooney and hernandez around. But for at least another season, shouldn't be a problem. If Macheda leaves, he may be another giuseppi rossi. I think diouf is capable of attracting mid level clubs and welbeck is an english. Just hope for the best.

Fergie sees Modric as the new Scholes
QUOTE Sir Alex Ferguson is planning one of the biggest overhauls of his Manchester United squad this summer after Paul Scholes confirmed his decision to retire. Ferguson heads off for his summer break at Cap Ferrat in the south of France today, having left chief executive David Gill to conclude deals for the targets he has identified. With Scholes, Edwin van der Sar and Gary Neville retiring in recent months, and Owen Hargreaves being released, United are facing arguably their most radical shake-up since 1995, when Paul Ince, Andrei Kanchelskis and Mark Hughes were sold. Ferguson is said to have as much as £50million to spend on a facelift for his squad, with Wesley Sneijder, Luka Modric, David De Gea and Ashley Young all on his radar as he attempts to build the last great team of his United dynasty. With as many as five new arrivals expected, Dimitar Berbatov, Wes Brown, Darron Gibson, Gabriel Obertan and Michael Owen are likely to leave Old Trafford. United’s comprehensive 3-1 defeat by Barcelona in the Champions League final showed Ferguson the glittering standard his side must reach if they are to win him the third European Cup he so desperately craves. Barca’s peerless slick passing and movement exposed the glaring deficiencies in a squad which, while competent enough to win a moderate Premier League, fell well short of what is required to rule Europe. Tottenham's Modric remain Ferguson’s top target. The Croatian is seen as the man to bring much-needed energy and guile to a midfield that looked tired and devoid of ideas against Barca’s ebullient side. Modric, signed from Dynamo Zagreb for £16m three years ago, has been a long-term target for Ferguson, who only four weeks ago picked out the midfielder as his player of the season. He also spoke highly of Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, telling Inside United magazine he had “really emerged as a great young talent”. According to informed United sources, Ferguson views Modric as a perfect replacement for Scholes - an attacking midfielder with a significant goal threat, around whom he can build his new-look line-up. Modric, who's rated at £25m and could be lured in a player-plus-cash deal that would see Berbatov going back to his former club, has indicated his willingness to leave White Hart Lane following Spurs’ failure to qualify next season's Champions League. “If there’s an offer [that's] good for Tottenham and [for] me, then a transfer is of course possible,” he said. “When you experience playing in Champions League, you want to keep playing in it.” Inter Milan and Holland playmaker Sneijder, who has a £35m buy-out clause in his contract, is a less realistic target. Sneijder signed a new deal with Inter on the back of his impressive World Cup campaign last summer and has said he has no desire to leave Italy. One player who looks certain to join United is Aston Villa and England winger Ashley Young. As he will be out of contract next summer, the 25-year-old is available for around £12m - a relative bargain given his age, ability and potential resale value. United are said to be at an advanced stage with their move for Young who, like Modric, yesterday publicly expressed his desire to join a club competing at the highest level, playing in the Champions League. Young’s imminent arrival at United will put pressure on Nani and Antonio Valencia. The England man is able to operate on either flank, while his versatility in also being able to play through the middle adds an extra dimension to his value.
